Veiling at Mass December 11, 2009

Fr. Z has a post up discussing some of the issues regarding women wearing the veil at Mass.  I think it’s a beautiful way to strengthen a woman’s Catholic identity and to show reverence for the Sacrifice that takes place at Mass.  My wife and daughters who are old enough to receive Communion wear veils (well, really, more like long, thin shawls that are beautiful and wrap around their head and shoulders).  I understand this is a personal decision, but my personal feeling is that women should not feel self-concious if they do wear one.

Discussion at Fr. Z’s here.

Another well known woman who generally had her head covered….
