….he will announce his retirement today, as his principal opposition, a man with NO political experience, is outraising his campaign already (after about 2 weeks), and polls indicate he’s in grave trouble. So, this man went from a position of almost limitless strength, from reinvigorating people’s view that the democrat party could be ‘pro-life,’ and from being viewed as an absolute hero by over half the country, to being hounded out of office, forced to retire because he hasn’t a prayer of getting re-elected. This will turn out to have been one of the most boneheaded decisions of the political century. I don’t know what Pelosi and the other leadership promised him, but can it have been worth his reputation, career, and faith.

Where are his friends now?
