Sacred Heart Apostolate coming to our area May 19, 2010

The Sacred Heart Apostolate is a Catholic group given sanction by the Holy See to encourage devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I don’t know a great deal about this group, but what I’ve seen and heard is good. They are coming to the Dallas Diocese to encourage people to “enthrone Jesus in their homes- to invite Him into their lives and allow Him to lead them to the love and mercy He pours out to us from the cross.” They are holding a mission at St. Gabriel parish in McKinney on June 6-9 at 7pm. You can find out more information on the Sacred Heart Apostolate here.
It seems a major part of the apostolate concerns the ‘enthronement’ of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the home, office, or wherever one finds oneself. This consists of hanging a picture of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the image which Christ revealed to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque. Having this picture, and having a devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, will bring great blessings to any home. If you don’t have one, I encourage you to pray about getting one and displaying it in a place of honor.

I have some friends who are active in this apostolate. They’ve been members for a good number of years and have seen/heard miraculous things come as a result – family members returning to the faith, for example.
I have two customers who have done the consecration in their places of business. It hasn’t translated into material success for their businesses – Jesus isn’t a slot machine for success, after all – but they have noticed greater peace amongst their employees, and a feeling of calm amid the recent economic storms.
Worthwhile apostolate, Larry.
Thanks for the endorsement, Larry! I was a bit reticent to be too favorable in my post, simply because I did not know a great deal about the apostolate, but it sounded good. I encourage folks to check it out. And, I feel encouraged to get a picture of the Sacred Heart in my, ahem, office (cube), as well.
Thanks!
