The Dallas Missionaries of Charity are holding or participating in many celebrations over the next few weeks, in celebration of their foundress, Mother Teresa, and the 100th anniversary of her birth! The activities include:
This year is a special year for the Missionaries of Charity and will be commemorated as follows:
On Sat Aug 21st, a Mass at 900am will be celebrated at the shelter by Bishop Deshotel on the anniversary of the founding of their order.
On Aug 26th, a 630pm Mass will be celebrated at the Cathedral by a Bishop in honor of the 100th birthday of Mother Theresa
From Aug 27th thru Sep 3, a novena of Masses will be celebrated by different priests at St James parish at 630pm each day and will conclude on Sep 4th at 900am with a Mass celebrated by Bishop Seitz.
The Sisters asked that we spread the word and that everyone come and ask for Mothers intercession for all your needs during these special times.
Amen to that! I pray that many are able to make it out and celebrate with the Missionaries of Charity! I need to get down there and visit, myself. I doubt they are at the LCWR conference. I don’t think they make time for that kind of activity.

The Missionaries of Charity do wonderful work! God bless them and the work they do.
I had the opportunity to help the Missionaries of Charity in Harlem on a mission trip in college. It was a great experience that I will remember forever.
BTW — I have started a new blog that focuses more on theological, and philosophical issues moreso than conservative issues. But, yes, the two do intermingle at times.
