Even ‘and’ and ‘the’.  LiveAction exposes Planned Parenthood’s lies in Indiana, where the abortion lovers have filed suit preventing the state from defunding Planned Parenthood clinics.  Previously, the Indiana legislature voted to deny any facility that performs abortions Medicare funding.  Many other states have followed suit, including Texas.  Planned Barrenhood has been arguing that they provide ‘critical services’ that aren’t available elsewhere.  So, LiveAction called up a number of Planned Barrenhood offices and found that’s not really the case:

The audacity of Planned Parenthood’s lies is breathtaking.  Planned Parenthood, and especially CEO Cecille Richards, have stated repeatedly that Planned Parenthood provides critical services not available anywhere else, but it turns out that they treat less than 1% of Medicaid patients in Indiana and that the services they perform are easily available at non-abortion providing facilities.  Think, too, on all the pro-aborts out there constantly doing their dorky chants about how Planned Parenthood is SOOO necessary for “women’s health care.”  What a joke.  But pro-aborts have never met a lie they didn’t like.

Charmaine Yeost, writing in the Wall Street Journal, has a good rundown of the various legal tactics Planned Barrenhood is using to try to fight defunding at the state level:

The state of Indiana—and, by extension, 49 other states and the American taxpayer—is under siege from Planned Parenthood, the nation’s abortion super-provider, and its allies in the Obama administration. Indiana is being threatened with the loss of federal funding for health care and being held up to scorn as having “declared war on women.”

Indiana’s crime? Last month it became the first state to prohibit all health-care contracts with and grants to any “entity” that performs abortions or operates a facility where abortions are performed. The law applies to state funds and to federal funds administered by the state, including money for Medicaid. Other states have been moving in the same direction.

Late Friday, U.S. District Court Judge Tanya Walton Pratt granted a preliminary injunction in a case brought by Planned Parenthood to block enforcement of the Indiana ban. In her 44-page opinion, the judge noted that “the public interest” tilted in favor of Planned Parenthood at this time because “the federal government has threatened partial or total withholding of federal Medicaid dollars to the State of Indiana.” One of the nation’s largest recipients of Medicaid funding, Planned Parenthood could lose a substantial amount if Indiana law prevails.

Shortly after it filed suit against the state, Planned Parenthood’s friends at the federal Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) issued a letter to Indiana and all other states. CMS said that, under the “free choice of provider” provisions in the Medicaid rules, states risk losing all federal Medicaid funding.

Who here is really endangering women?

Planned Parenthood repeatedly claims to be a woman’s best friend, the only source for mammograms (ooops, no, they don’t do that) and important basic health care for most women (also false).  What is most false is the notion that Planned Parenthood cares for women.  That misbegotten organization, founded in hatred, only cares about women as a means to increase its funding and its influence (and thus future funding).  And they kill more babies than any other organization in the US.

BTW, the scoreboard I posted yesterday has been updated!

You can argue with the exact numbers, but it is clear that Planned Barrenhood may be denied tens of millions of dollars in government funding this year.  It’s well earned – they deserve every dollar they dont’ get.
