I thought the girls looked beautiful:

Benedict, however…….

Poor Miranda was sick, but she fought through it and received our Blessed Lord for the first time.  Now, I feel like I have whatever she had.

…..not only will Catholic colleges have to provide contraception, sterilization, and abortifacients to employees, but now also students:

The White House announced today that colleges and universities will also be forced to join religious employers in instituting the new HHS mandate that requires them to provide coverage for birth control and drugs that may cause abortions.

The Health and Human Services Department released information Friday afternoon [very late Friday, as per the usual tactic, in order to minimize news coverage] saying college student health care plans will be treated like employees’ plans — making them subject to the mandate the Obama administration put in place that has upset pro-life groups for its violation of religious liberties.

The decision means college students — who already get abortions at the highest rate compared with women in other age categories, will be able to get free birth control pills, Plan B pills and the ella drug that causes early-term abortions days after conception.

The nation’s biggest abortion business is already applauding the decision, as it means insurance companies will pay for drugs Planned Parenthood dispenses, providing a taxpayer-funded windfall for the abortion giant.

Planned Parenthood Federation of America President Cecile Richards said in a statement, “For many women, especially college students, birth control is not only a health care issue, it is a financial issue. [Horse hockey.  First, most students are covered by their parents health plans.  Secondly, even if they are having to pay out of pocket, a month of depo-provera costs $9.  If people “can’t afford” contraception, it’s because they choose not to or have a political agenda to advance.  In general.]   Covering birth control with no co-pays means college students will not have to choose between paying for tuition and books, or paying for basic health care like birth control.”

“The proposal released today make clears that the Obama administration is fulfilling its promise that women will have access to birth control coverage, with no costly co-pays and no additional hurdles, no matter where they work,” she said.

This entire line of attack by Obama has been setup for months and executed with precision.  Numerous polls last fall showed that one of Obama’s key demographics – young women, especially young single women – was unmotivated to vote in 2012.  Well, with the carefully orchestrated campaigns against first Komen, and now with this mandate business with the Church, and finally moving on directly to the students themselves, Obama, Richards, and all thos astroturfing stooges are doing all they can to foment  a “crisis” situation which will get young women motivated to vote.  Polls show the effort has failed miserably so far, but they’ll keep doubling down until they  run completely out of ways to milk this issue.

That Obama is happy to crush the 1st Amendment while wielding his heaviest battle-axe blows against Christianity is hardly surprising, at least to me.   Nor is his great interest in being deferential to islam.  What has been a bit surprising is the extent to which he has singled out the Church for his attention.  It’s almost as if he has a personal vendetta he’s trying to work.

Fr. Jenkins must be proud.

Get thee to a churchery!

St. Joseph has meant  a great deal to me.  He has helped me tremendously.  I have a daily devotion to him, for his intercession.  He is a great Saint, given the awesome responsibility of the care and raising of the Son of God.  His faith was massive, impregnable.  He is the model of Christian fatherhood and the model for all husbands.  His great faith powered his ability to serve as the Foster Father of the Lord.
