I thank Thee, Jesus, my Divine Redeemer, for coming upon this earth for our salvation, and for instituting the august Sacrament of the Most Holy Eucharist in order to remain with us until the end of the world.
I thank Thee for hiding beneath the Eucharistic species Thy infinite majesty and beauty, which Thy Angels delight to behold, so that I might have courage to approach the throne of Thy Mercy.
I thank Thee, most loving Jesus, for having made Thyself my food, and for uniting me to Thyself with so much love in this wonderful Sacrament that I may live in Thee.
I thank Thee, my Jesus, for giving Thyself to me in this Most Blessed Sacrament, and so enriching it with the treasures of Thy love that Thou hast no greater gift to give me.
I thank Thee not only for becoming my food but also for offering Thyself as a continual sacrifice to Thy Eternal Father for my salvation.
I thank Thee, Divine Priest, for offering Thyself as a Sacrifice daily upon our altars in adoration and homage to the Most Blessed Trinity, and for making amends for our poor and miserable adorations.
I thank Thee for renewing in this daily Sacrifice the actual propitiatory Sacrifice of the Cross offered on Calvary, in which Thou satisfiest Divine justice for us poor sinners.
I thank Thee, dear Jesus, for having become the priceless Victim to merit for me the fullness of Heavenly favors.
Awaken in me such confidence in Thee that their fullness may descend ever more fruitfully upon my soul and let me always be worthy of Thee.

Planned Barrenhood happy to perform sex-selective abortions – UPDATED! May 30, 2012

I guess this broke yesterday, but I was behind all day. Planned Barrenhood caught, yet again, being what they are – agents of the culture of death, willing to do anything, no matter how immoral, to make a buck.
The first video was apparently shot in Austin. But Planned Barrenhood claims to have found similar Planned Barrenhood facilities in other states willing to kill babies simply because they are the wrong sex. This puts to the lie, for the umpteenth time, Planned Barrenhood’s claims to be all about “helping” women and families.
Live Action says Planned Parenthood and other U.S. abortion providers are willing to assist in the termination of baby girls for pregnant women who choose abortion because they want to have baby boys. And the pro-life abortion watchdog says its video series and a new website will expose it all.
“This was a multi-state, national investigation demonstrating that this is a widespread problem across our country,” Live Action president Lila Rose told The Daily Caller in an interview Monday.
“First of all, the statistics and studies indicate that we are adding to the growing problem across the world of sex-selective targeting of unborn girls for abortion. We are going to be demonstrating — starting with this video from Texas — that the abortion industry in the United States is aiding and abetting this horrific problem.”
The first in what Live Action says is a series of videotaped incidents exposing American abortion facilities’ willingness to assist in sex-selection abortions took place at a South Austin, Texas Planned Parenthood clinic. In the footage, a Planned Parenthood counselor appears to readily assist and advise a Live Action actor who said she was trying to obtain an abortion if her baby is female.
“In this video, what is astounding is that Rebecca, the Planned Parenthood counselor, starts arranging with the actor about how to get a late-term abortion,” Rose said. “To wait until her pregnancy is so developed that — and using Medicaid for this, using the state to pay for the ultrasound to determine the gender, and then to do a late term abortion if it was a little girl.”
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been told by people pursuing an abortion that paying for it is no problem, that Medicaid will cover it.
How many stings will Planned Barrenhood have to undergo before it is completely defunded? How many before it loses all credibility among those who are not rabid pro-aborts dedicated to the cause of choosing to destroy human life? Planned Parenthood has been caught arranging race-selective abortions, being willing to perform abortions on underage girls without parental consent, being willing to cover up for sex abuse of children by discreetly destroying the resulting pregnancies, aiding and abetting prostitution and sexual slavery by not reporting potential abuse, overcharging the government for ostensible Medicaid services…..and that’s just what I can remember off the top of my head!
This is an utterly immoral, out of control, evil institution. You can’t perform acts of barbarity day in and day out, or even advocate for the same, without hideous damage to your soul. In reality, these folks are slaves of satan. As such, there should really be no surprise at all when we find scandal after horrific scandal with this crowd – those who are consumed with evil will do evil things. And, as always, they will call it good.
It is a damning indictment of our nation that we do not have the moral outrage to have this institution not only de-funded, but completely shut down and many of its officers facing criminal investigations. It is truly the progeny of its demented, depraved founder.
UPDATE: A quick update. Even though Planned Barrenhood conveniently fired the staffer for having the temerity to follow their policy and encourage a sex-selective abortion, Planned Barrenhood’s own press releases in response to the Live Action sting claims they are fine with performing sex selective abortions, or abortions for any reasons, so long as they can kill babies and make money at it:
This spokeswoman for Planned Parenthood Federation of America also told The Huffington Post that the organization condemns seeking abortions on the basis of gender, but its policy is to provide “high quality, confidential, nonjudgmental care to all who come into” its health centers. That means that no Planned Parenthood clinic will deny a woman an abortion based on her reasons for wanting one, except in those states that explicitly prohibit sex-selective abortions (Arizona, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and Illinois).
In this matter, Planned Barrenhood is hoist on its own petard. They can’t, ideologically, oppose sex-selection abortions, because they have to claim that ALL abortions are good and wonderful and empowering. But at the same time, they have to appease their feminist supporters by claiming to be opposed to sex-selection. What a pathetic group.

Update 1: It’s Ember Week. Fast and partial abstinence today, Friday, and Saturday. That is, one full meal with meat and two small meatless meals today and Saturday, total abstinence from meat on Friday (as usual).
Update 2: The June 8 Rally for the Rights of the Church Religious Freedom has been moved to Fort Worth. I have no idea why that would be, it is certain to reduce the size of the crowd that will attend. The rally is still on June 8 at noon, but now in front of the Lehman federal building in Ft.Worth.
Update 3: The Mass for the Carmelite rendering her vows to Mother Juanita Marie will not be a TLM. It will in fact be a NO in English, but with a choir and incense. This Mass is at 5pm Sunday at the Carmelite Chapel.

First this:
The question has often come up in my mind……are we in the midst of the worst crisis the Church has ever faced? I have wavered on this…..in the Arian heresy, almost every bishop went over to heresy. It was Athanasius against the world, and all that (in reality, he had some strong support from a Saint in Seville, and the Pope never went over except when hoodwinked by Arians and signing something he didn’t intend to, all while old and blind and frail and literally held prisoner by the Arians). But, the lay people generally held to the true Faith, for the most part. As did much of the clergy.
The protestant revolt was also incredibly severe. About 1/3 of the Church in Europe fell away. But, it was localized, and did not affect some countries, like Spain, at all. The Church was also rapidly expanding into new lands, aided tremendously, as always, by our Blessed Mother.
But the problems in the Church today are universal. They exist from the very highest levels to the very lowest. A huge proportion of the Church – by far the majority – either doesn’t practice the Faith, practices it only slightly (Christmas and Easter), and/or apostasizes on many beliefs.
I’ve read a great deal of Church history. I’m not expert, but based on this reading, I would estimate that the crisis today is probably more widespread than any other in the history of the Church. It is more problematic because there is great confusion in the presentations of the Faith at the highest levels – bishops, cardinals, etc. As I discussed last week, we actively have cardinals in the Church repudiating one another’s beliefs. And this on core doctrine, not some prudential side issue.
The reasons for this terribly widespread crisis are many and really beyond the scope of this blog post, or any one blog post. Lord knows, there have been shelves full of books written and hours of videos made on this subject. But, in essence, the crisis comes down to a lack of Faith in Jesus Christ Incarnate God on earth and thus the Truths He has revealed through His Church have become “optional” or “negotiable.” That is the essence of modernism – modernism claims, by frequently citing now outdated and almost completely refuted “evidence,” that if Jesus Christ even existed, He was merely a man – the revival of the Arian heresy, writ large.
And since records from that time are not exactly 100% thorough, perhaps the original Arian heresy was worse. It’s hard to say. Be that as it may, we have been suffering, and continue to suffer, through one of if not the greatest crisis in Church history. The Church is literally at war with itself – I don’t mean just between differing views of Her, ummmmm……believers……but I mean the Church is at war with Her very essence – what She is and what She is called to always be. That is the irrefutable crisis, the heart of the matter.
There is nothing left for us to do, but pray, to do our best to live the Faith that has been handed down to us as the most precious of gifts, and to try to make people aware of this Faith through all our actions. We must be saints, for this is a time for saints.

So, a guy apparently strung out on an apparently new and, I would guess, extremely powerful form of lysergic acid diethylmide (LSD) – some say it was a synthetic cocaine or meth – , committed an act of barbarism that exceeds reason, and even imagination:
A naked man is shot by Miami Police while eating another naked man’s face on the MacArthur Causeway.
As the story quickly went viral across the Internet, some have likened the attack to one by a zombie. Details of the unthinkable attack included police reporting that when they ordered the cannibal to stop, he looked up with blood on his face and growled at officers.
I don’t necessarily have a big point here, but Lord help us. If that face eating zombie druggie ever makes it into NA (in prison), he might set the record for the lowest low ever recorded.
