Just an average week in persecuting Christians August 28, 2012

It is true that today we have access to worldwide sources of news that people could only have dreamed of 20 years ago. As such, many stories make it to us via our computers that we never would have seen or heard before. Having said that, I cannot recall a time in my life when Christians were so under attack all over the world. Just from the past week:
- The Melkite and Maronite bishops of Syria had to flee the country after their offices were ransacked
- Crosses chopped down by Church hating secularists in Russia
- Ireland continues to persecute the Church, including attempting to force priests to violate the seal of the confessional
- Christian children are raped, mutilated, and killed in Pakistan almost daily
- Catholics in Nigeria are attacked and/or murdered by muslims almost every day
- Muslims in Egypt are crucifying Christians
- Cardinal Dolan claims that Joe Biden is a wonderful, faithful Catholic and it’s a great thing he’s on the democrat ticket
These are dark times indeed. I put in the last bit, because the former events are not unrelated to the final one.
