Girl Scouts take part in another major pro-abort conference December 14, 2012

This one, at the very highest levels, the UN Population Fund conclave in….where else?…….Bali. These NGOs, much like the ecumenical movers and shakers of the Catholic Church, live very well.

This was a conference dedicated to the promotion of abortion as a right for underage girls (that contraception should be available to 9 year olds is, to these people, just a given), and both the YWCA and the Girl Scouts were on the steering committee with Planned Barrenhood.

And yet, most Catholic parishes host a Girl Scout troop.  Ummm……why is that, again?

The organizers’ priorities were clear from the opening statements given by the two youth members of the steering committee, both of whom are employed by pro-abortion organizations. They urged that “safe abortion services” be accessible to young women and that gender should be viewed as “not in a binary” (A definition of binary is “a whole composed of two.”) Also on the steering committee were representatives of the International Planned Parenthood Federation, World YWCA, and the World Association of Girl Scouts and Girl Guides, as well as members of the Indonesian government that hosted the event.

In keeping with the introductory themes, the conference outcome document recommends decriminalizing abortion and removing restrictions on abortion access, including waiting periods, parental or spousal consent, and age of consent.  The declaration also recommends comprehensive sexuality education that “include[s] information on sexual orientation and gender identities that is free of religious intolerance,” the decriminalization of sex work, and government recognition of a “constantly evolving” concept of the family.

These conferences are utterly boring and predictable. The conclusion is reached before anyone arrives.  Of course abortion is a positive good.  Of course it should be available to anyone of any age at anytime for any reason.  Of course it “saves women’s lives.”  Of course we should oppose “intolerant religions” who can’t see the “empowering” effects of murdering millions of children a year.  In fact, those who are “intolerant” shouldn’t even have the right to exist.

Unfortunately, these stupid conferences aren’t useless…..in fact, they are a major element in the left’s way of manufacturing sham consensus.  Anyone who opposes the majority view is hounded and silenced, as the article makes clear later on. This is all about advancing the revolution, and nothing else.  All these NGOs and idiot UN bodies have been dominated by sexular leftist pagans for decades.  And yet, they are treated as if they are actual, serious organizations which represent some “will of the people.”

It is from bodies such as these that the declarations will come in future years outlawing certain intransigent religons. Or at least making sure everyone knows they are totally persona non grata.

And yet, through monies raised by local Girl Scout troops, and the USCCB’s rather cozy relationship with the national Girl Scouts organization, Catholic money helps to fund things like this.  Those Girl Scout cookies help fund things like this, if not directly, at least indirectly.

Would a faithful Catholic parish host a Planned Parenthood office?  Why then are they hosting Girl Scouts?

Sexual deviants attacking both the Girl and Boy Scouts. Coincidence? I don’t believe so.

Mass in the home. We may be heading down this road as the political methods we have been employing are largely failing. I am reminded of how our founding father Benjamin Franklin responded to a woman on the street when she asked what he and the others had given us, “A republic, if we can keep it.” Note that he wisely did not say a ‘democracy’. Recall that democracy is that form of government which says, “Give us Barabbas!”

And another gem Dr. Franklin left us with, “Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become more corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters.”

This, coupled with other supporting statements by John Adams concerning the Constitution, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” and “We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry would break the strongest cords of our constitution as a whale goes through a net.”

My friends, this net has long been broken. We have not kept the republic. The American experiment is all but over and it has failed but not because there was any flaw of our Constitution which brought it about but rather that we as a people collectively have ceased to practice virtue and morality. We have ceased to remain vigilant concerning the liberty we have enjoyed and thus have allowed a ruling class to emerge bent on power and aggression over seas (and thanks to the technological terror we have constructed that we call ‘drones’, that is mindless killers (much like zombies I might add, but I digress), enhancing a police state within). Meditate, if you will on the metaphysics related to the ‘look’ of modern local police vehicles.

In my opinion, it is past the time we consider seriously avenues of departure from the Union. Texans send over 300 billion dollars of fiat currency to the federal system each year which, in turn squanders it on ventures and programs which we neither agree nor with which our children and grand-children can afford. The Union may need Texas economically to keep the beast running, however, Texas does not need the Union…and neither do Texas Catholics. Especially Texas Catholics…

Our holy father has also expressed a concern for Catholic communities becoming smaller as a result of this trend toward immorality and irreligion, “Maybe we are facing a new and different kind of epoch in the church’s history, where Christianity will again be characterized more by the mustard seed, where it will exist in small, seemingly insignificant groups that nonetheless live an intense struggle against evil and bring good into the world – that let God in.”

Secession from the Union, secession from the popular culture, secession from the increasingly pagan society.

These are the trends and ones we must prepare for if we are to survive and to secure the liberty and the Catholic faith of our children.

My two silver pieces…
