Via TFP Student Action, this is great:

Prescription #1:  Give God the greatest possible glory and honor Him with your whole soul. If you have a sin on your conscience, JohnBoscoremove is as soon as possible by means of a good Confession. [Boy, that is great advice. As fitting such a pastoral Saint, but a Saint who knew that the definition of “pastoral” is that service which aids souls in finding Heaven, not watered down indifference whose greatest concern is not offending others.]

Prescription #2:  Never offend anyone. Above all, be willing to serve others. Be more demanding of yourself than of others[Exceedingly difficult]

Prescription #3:  Do not trust those who have no faith in God and who do not obey His precepts. Those who have no scruples in offending God and who do not give Him what they should will have many fewer scruples in offending you and even betraying you when it is convenient for them. [I don’ think this can be emphasized enough as we head into the dark times of post-Christian sexular pagan culture]

Prescription #4:  If you do not wish to be ruined, never spend more than you earn. You should bear this in mind and always measure your true possibilities accurately.  [Would that our governments and citizens learn obey this simple dictum!]

images (2)Prescription #5:  Be humble. Speak little of yourself and never praise yourself before anyone. He who praises himself, even if he has real merit, risks losing the good opinion of others. He who seeks only praise and honors is sure to have an empty head fed only by wind… will have no peace of soul and will be unreliable in his undertakings. [Hmmm……not sure how conducive blogging is to humility.  This is something I know I can work on, a lot!]

Prescription #6:  Carry your cross on your back and take is as it comes, small or large, whether from friends or enemies and of whatever wood it be made. The most intelligent and happiest of men is he who, knowing that he is doomed to carry the cross throughout life, willingly and resignedly accepts the one God sends him.  [I can’t tell you how apropos that prescription feels to me right now!  Wow.  Thank you, St. John Bosco!  For reminding me that this life is not for us to get our way, but to suffer!]

Promise of Happiness

Don Bosco concludes:  “Dear friend, I am a man who loves joy and who, therefore wishes to see you and everybody happy. If you do as I say, you will be joyful and glad in heart.”

——————End Quote———————–

What a wonderful conclusion.  And that is what the world desperately needs right now, is thousands, millions of devout, joyful, loving Catholics. Nothing will fix this broken culture but that.  Another perfect reminder for this very dark day.

DB Confession

One final thought: what manly priest could not want to rock out the cassock and biretta like St. John Bosco?!  Cassocks are about the coolest form of dress I’ve seen this side of Heaven.

How internet radio host Rebecca Diserio was persecuted unto silence June 26, 2013

Anyone who pays even remote attention to what is going on in this nation – which includes, I am certain, pretty much all my readers, but probably less than half of the general populace – knows that the IRS under the Obama administration has been deliberately and purposefully persecuting conservative and Catholic groups in order to block their ability to pose a threat to Obama’s leftist agenda. No, the smoking gun connecting Obama directly has not yet been found, but it will be before too long. Nonetheless, the point of this post is to recount, in her own words, the persecution that my friend, colleague, and co-host from internet radio (Fidelis Radio Network) Rebecca Diserio experienced at the hands of the IRS.

Some may recall that I hosted the Salve Regina Radio Show on Fidelis for much of 2012. This was a Catholic radio show on a conservative internet talk “network.”  Rebecca also featured much content related to the Church on her own show.  Early in 2013, Rebecca sort of just dropped off and the network folded up. I did not know what had occurred.  Now that Rebecca is starting to get her life back together, she is able to tell her tale. It started when, suddenly and without warning, the IRS began to garnish almost all her husband’s wages for some unspecified reason.  That left Rebecca and her family financially prostrate.  I will let her tell the rest:

Sometime at the end of January, or beginning of February, a funny thing happened. [I would not call it funny]

My husband’s direct deposit pay which is approximately 1600 every 2 weeks was garnished—–and I mean garnished.  Confused and alarmed, his Human Resources Department said it was the IRS.  The IRS? Huh? What?

We never received any correspondence prior– as in “Hello, unless you pay we will start to garnish your wages”.     We usually get a tax return.  His pay was garnished so that we netted 365.00 every 2 weeks. [Wow, they were taking almost 75%. How nice of our government overlords to leave them a pittance to survive on]

Luckily, my husband is a “Retired Detective” who receives a pension.   He took a job after retirement  for a firm which needed experienced top professionals in security— for one purpose—to ensure my sons, his step-sons, could finish College.

It had to be a mistake.  This garnishment….what else could it be?  I tried without success to reach a “live” person at the IRS.  And stupid me.  I kept thinking—watch—-his next paycheck will be “right”.  But the HR Department never received any paperwork to stop it.  I STILL thought, I KNEW, its a clerical error somewhere, and I kept calling.  One time on hold for over 3 hours.

Our lives changed drastically.  Just like Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs, my focus was food and shelter.  And getting our sons to their classes.  That was the one thing I could not, would not, allow to change.  My middle son was scheduled to graduate in May 2013, my youngest son was in his Junior year.

So, as I do in a crisis, I tried to just focus on food and shelter.  No internet, no TV, no cell phones.  Little by little all the things many of us take for granted had to go.  And then I got through.  YES, about a week before the whole IRS story “broke” a live person was on the phone with me. [It is difficult to see this as a coincidence. The IRS was beginning prep work for the breaking of this scandal, including a softball planted question at a press conference given by top Obama IRS appointee Laura Lerner, a week before it really came out.  Very interesting timing.]

After I gave our Social Security numbers, the “minion” placed me on hold to get a Supervisor.  The Supervisor was completely apologetic! (HUH? the IRS acting somewhat human?)

“OH, mam, yes we have your file here, and while you are on the phone, as we speak, I am faxing directly to your husband’s Human Resource Department to lift this….right away…hold on….its going through.  Yes, there.  Now give them a call to make sure.”

Shocked, and elated, I asked few questions.  At this point I was suffering from exhaustion, depression, shell shock.

I asked “Well, can you tell me why this “snafu” occured?” Silence for about 30 seconds.  Then “Hmmm, its odd, looks like your return was “flagged” for something….not sure why, but its fixed now and you should not expect anymore issues.”

When the IRS story broke, it still didn’t fit until I remembered in January my accountant filed Fidelis Radio as a start-up business, a Conservative Radio Network— so we could write off the expenses

So, right around the time Rebecca filed Fidelis Radio for tax purposes as a conservative entity, suddenly her husband’s wages get garnished, almost in toto, by the IRS. There was no hearing, no warning, no letter demanding payment, just a sudden disappearance of almost all income.  Naturally, for amateur bloggers or radio people who do such things as a sideline to their main job and receive little or no income from them, such an occurrence would be a disaster of the first order. And since such activities, no matter how strongly we may feel about what is going on in our nation or the need to wake people up and try to fight the creeping sexular pagan socialism, are not our “profession,” they tend to be one of the first things to go when financial trouble strikes.

Do you imagine the IRS is ignorant of this? Or any of the other alphabet soup of government agencies that have suddenly, and very deliberately, been targeting conservative and tea party groups since opposition to Obama really began to take hold in 2010?  Groups like OSHA, EPA, ATF, ICE, etc., etc. All have been used to target conservatives.

One of the beauties of this persecution, is that in so many cases like Rebecca’s, it will be next to impossible to gather evidence to prove this persecution was deliberate and politically motivated. Rebecca just went through great financial hardship, she, and thousands, tens of thousands, possibly hundreds of thousands like her, probably don’t have the resources to hire a lawyer and others to pursue this case.  It was likely the glare of media attention which brought about this sudden change, or else a scrupulous IRS employee simply righted a wrong.

Or, it could all just be a great big coincidence. I will leave it to you, the readers, to assess that.

Another impressive aspect, if it can be called that, is how this persecution plays to people’s psychology. I don’t know about you, but even though I hold the government in increasing disdain, I would not have, at least until recently, assumed that the government would be acting illegally, or with an ulterior motive, if something like this occurred to me. My first thought would be, they screwed up. And if it continued, I would think, hmmm, maybe we screwed up somewhere?  But I really wouldn’t – until now – have considered it likely that whatever trouble I was in would have been the result of some malicious, politically motivated campaign of repression.  I mean, who would care about li’l ‘ol me?   No politician/political movement would be so twisted, evil, even, as to sick the powers of the federal government on ordinary citizens, simply because we hold different beliefs and are political opponents.  Would they?

I don’t think we can afford to have such naivete anymore.  The modern left is so utterly disdainful of any who do not submit to their shibolleths, is so sure that they, and only they, are possessed of ALL good and ALL right, and that their rightness is so obvious that only those that are EVIL could oppose them, that they feel no compunction whatsoever at using WHATEVER means are necessary to crush the opposition, because this is a campaign of “good” (them) versus “evil” (us).  Don’t think the Church will not be persecuted unto natural destruction by this bunch.  They hate the Church, the true, faithful Church, with a white hot passion.

But rejoice!  Stay strong in the Faith, and Heaven is assured!  God raises us great Saints in times of persecution! May He be merciful and beneficent with all of us!

Demonrat filibuster/unruly mob successful in blocking passage of SB5 June 26, 2013

As I reported yesterday, a very key pro-life initiative was up for vote yesterday in the final day of the Texas Legislature’s special session, Senate Bill 5.  Democrat pro-aborts (but I repeat myself) sought to block the bill by filibustering, talking until the session expired at midnight. The filibuster ended around 10, but an unruly mob managed to keep the bill from being voted on until midnight, when the session ended.  Pray that Governor Perry will call another session!  That would give the legislature 30 more days to pass the bill in the Senate.

As you can read in this article here, the left mobilized its usual thuggish tactics to disrupt the democratic process.  Oh, yes, those leftists are all for democracy when it works to their ends, but when it doesn’t they become a seething mob of violence and cruel repression, as we saw so extensively in Wisconsin in recent years. Mob action is not “democracy.” It’s thuggery. I saw a report yesterday that Planned Parenthood, Obama’s Organizing For America and other leftist groups were bussing in supporters and paying for airline tickets for their usual “occupy” rabble – meaning paid political activists – to come disrupt the legislative process. Unfortunately, my computer crashed overnight and I can’t find that story now.

Even still, the vote came down to the very last minute.  The mob managed, just barely, to keep the vote from being completed by midnight. I think the differential was about 2 minutes.  This despite the fact that Texas is an overwhelmingly pro-life state, with an elected legislature that is, if possible, even more massively pro-life.

So, please, leftists, tell me more about this “democratic action” you love so much.  As far as I can tell, a bunch of paid activists disrupted the legal, democratic process.

I should note, Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst – the real power in the state, whose office holds massive power compared to the Governor’s office – hinted very strongly that he wants another special session to pass this bill. Let us pray that is what develops.

“Catholic” Kennedy overturns Defense of Marriage Act June 26, 2013

And, the Supreme Court also vacated the decision of the Ninth Circuit Court regarding Proposition 8 in California from 2008, leaving the district court ruling against the constitionality – of a constitional amendment – standing (I remind, the district court judge in the case was a homosexual who strongly favors “marriage”). So, Prop 8 is overturned at present, but I guess they can re-file another appeal.  And for God’s sake get the case out of the 9th circuit of Soviet justice.

So, the federal government is now officially in the position of not only permitting, but favoring, state recognition of homosexual marriage.  Expect lawsuits against all state laws against this abomination immediately, so within 2-3 years, every state will have to recognize the impossible – homosexuals can be “married.” As for Kennedy’s decision, it’s blindingly stupid:

The class to which DOMA directs its restrictions and restraints are those persons who are joined in same-sex marriages made lawful by the State. DOMA singles out aclass of persons deemed by a State entitled to recognitionand protection to enhance their own liberty. It imposes a disability on the class by refusing to acknowledge a status the State finds to be dignified and proper. DOMA instructs all federal officials, and indeed all persons with whom same-sex couples interact, including their own children, that their marriage is less worthy than the marriages of others.  [Well, Justice Kennedy, if you were any kind of faithful Catholic, you would know that these marriage are, indeed, invalid and worthless.  You can wave your magic wand and get the state to do whatever you will, you unelected unaccountable oligarch, but that doesn’t make “homosexual marriage” any less of an oxymoron.  So, can we have Justice Kennedy interdicted now, since he has ruled directly counter to a clearly defined Doctrine?] The federal statute is invalid, for no legitimate purpose overcomes the purpose and effect to disparage and to injure those whom the State, by its marriage laws, sought to protect in personhood and dignity. [Really!  And yet, Justice Kennedy, you voted with the majority in Planned Parenthood vs. Casey, which defined that the federal government could INDEED deny the protection of personhood to some, even some the various states sought to protect through laws against abortion!  And I would argue that an extremely legitimate purpose is associated with DOMA, which is to protect the very foundational element of all civilizations, the marriage between one man and one woman.  What a load of self-serving hypocritical horse hockey.  I must also note that Kennedy was the turncoat “conservative” justice who voted with the majority in Lawrence vs. Texas, overturning state sodomy laws. He’s been a one man wrecking crew of morality and virtue] By seeking to displace this protection and treating those persons as living in marriages less respected than others, the federal statute is in violation of the Fifth Amendment. This opinion and its holding are confined to those lawful marriages. [I’m making my tongue bleed I’m biting it so hard]

So, what Kennedy – an ostensible Catholic! – is saying, is that it is wrong under the “equal protection clause,” one of the most abused amendments to the US constitution, for the federal government to deny rights to those individuals who have been granted “rights” by various states. What he leaves unsaid, is that this now creates the massive problem of different definitions of marriage in the various states.  And as I noted, the hypocrisy is breathtaking.

With this precedent in hand, it is difficult to see how the 30 plus state laws defining marriage to be between a man and a woman have much of a chance.

So, Fr. Rodriguez, and Michael Voris, and I were right: we will see state recognition of homosexual simulation of marriage as marriage in all 50 states within the foreseeable future.  This recognition will be the vehicle to attempt to silence the Church on any number of matters related to morality.

As I said in another context yesterday, I am not surprised, but I am terrified. The state has arrogated such awesome powers to itself that any thought of “democracy” is a fantasy – whatever the state wills, the state will get. And the state is dominated by those who are completely, totally given over to the leftist sexular pagan mindset.

May God have mercy on us all.  And may He give us the strength to remain faithful, and raise up innumerable Saints in the coming dark times.

These are some of the best Vortex videos ever. I hate to post three videos in a row, but they should really all be watched in sequence. They are that important, and eminently worth your time.

The collapse of the culture and the crisis in the Church are deeply intertwined.  The culture could not collapse without the Church falling into the crisis of widespread apostasy.  This culture is, for all intents and purposes, past the point of no return.  That doesn’t mean it’s end of the world time, but it does mean that something else will have to emerge from a long period of darkness. Let us pray that re-emergent culture is founded on a strong, unified, doctrinally orthodox Church.

“A large portion of the Church will either repent, or it will be pruned away.  And the culture, deprived by Church leaders of the Truth of Christ, will be the very instrument used for the pruning.”

I am afraid that Voris is very precise in his summation.  Looking back over history, it is quite possible to discern how God has allowed various cultures and nations to destroy themselves through their own sins. It is all ironic, in a sense.  The very things that “englightened” people think “free” them from God bring about a submission to misery far worse than any supposed religious enslavement.  May God have mercy on us.

The next video continues the discussion, but reminds us that all is not doom and gloom, and that in fact, this is a glorious time to be alive in Christ’s Church. We have an infinite variety of ways to achieve sanctity now!

Finally, Michael is back in Rome and remarks about some conversations he has had with various priests and bishops there. These, likely orthodox, clergy are just about devastated by the utter collapse of faith they see around them, even in Rome, and even – or perhaps especially – among so many of the highest princes of the Church. The only thing that these men can see that will clear out the rot from the Church is the sweet angel of death. Maybe the modernists should take up santa muerte!  The pathetic thing is, some probably already have, at least in essence.

Taj Mahoney – modernism on full display in LA June 25, 2013

10 years ago, Roger Cardinal Mahoney, former Cardinal Archbishop of Los Angeles and probably the single worst of “Bernadin’s boys,” replaced this….

Stvibianacathedral1885

….with the monstrosity described in the video below. As the commentator rightly notes, Catholic churches, especially Gothic cathedrals, were monuments to God, statements of the faithful’s collective beliefs about, and towering love and respect of, Almighty God.  The barn-like modernist catastrophe below is a testimony to man, with “clever” little details and nuances being about all the conveys the Faith.  But even on the human level, why is it liberals, who love to make such a show of their concern for their fellow man, love to build such coldly impersonal, inhumane structures?

“Orwellian brutalist architecture.” I would say, it’s more like Stalinist brutalism, which is an actual recognized architectural form.

The reredo from the old cathedral looks so hideously out of place. I agree with the commetator – “they threw us a bone.”  In a distant corner.  I also agree with the cathedral possessing a museum-like quality. It’s like a modernist display of various objects from a long dead religion, merely ojects of curiosity for a modern people above such things.

“Santa Muerte” a sinister and infernal cult June 25, 2013

And, I would say, satanic.  For those who don’t know, “santa muerte,” or holy death, is a bizaare satanic cult with some “Catholic” trappings has spread like wildfire through Mexico and Central America in the past decade or so, fueled by the huge drug gangs and the collapse in the practice of the Catholic Faith. It has, through immigration, spread into the United States, as well. Bishop Michael D. Pfeifer of San Angelo has some strong words of condemnation for this death-worshipping cult (I add emphasis and comments):

The cult “Santa Muerte” has been called by Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi, President of the Pontifical Council for Culture, sinister and infernal. 08santa_muerte_jb_jpegThis diabolical “Santa Muerte” cult has been burgeoning on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border.

The Santa Muerte cult is in no way santa (holy) but rather is, as Cardinal Ravasi has said, a celebration of devastation and of hell. It is a terrible blasphemy against God and is a false religiosity promoted by organized crime and drug traffickers. These groups celebrate death. It is in no way a true religion that celebrates life and justice and the dignity and sacredness of each person. La Santa Muerte has been called the “la religiosidad de narcos”—drug traffickers who falsify religion. [a more literal translation would be the religion of the narcos – drug traffickers]

The Santa Muerte is a skeletal figure of a cloaked woman with a scythe, or blade, in her bony hand. This cult is worshipped by drug dealers in Mexico and by the terrified people who live in drug-torn neighborhoods, and sadly in Texas, especially along the border. The devotion to the Santa Muerte, a female figure, goes directly against the true teaching of our Catholic Church and puts one in connection with the enemy of Christ, Satan.[And, thus, it exposes one to demonic obsession, oppression, and possession. There is little wonder the demand for exorcisms in Mexico has exploded, at a time when there are very few in that formerly amazingly Catholic country.  This whole death cult is a dire sign of how far the Faith has fallen in Mexico, and how perverted it has become.  Many of the practitioners of this cult consider themselves to be good Catholics!] From a Christian perspective, we have every assurance based on the Word of God that Christ has already defeated his last enemy —death — through His resurrection and has given us the Holy Spirit to guide us on the right path as we live each day with Christ preparing us for a holy death that will open the gates of heaven for us. [Perhaps a bit of post-Vatican II univeral salvationism here. I would rather the bishop warn these souls that they fall in dread danger of hell in following this cult]

The Santa Muerte engages in Satanism and many of its followers, Santa Muertistas, have committed heinous crimes in the name of the skeletal folk so called saint. Human sacrifice, narco-assassinations and other lurid crimes have been committed in Mexico and to some degree in the U.S. by devotees who believe that Saint Death sanctions and blesses these nefarious needs. [Read about the many mass graves found in Mexico, where deranged narcos and others tied up in this cult will suddenly, and for no reason, seize a bus full of poor people and murder them all, burying them in a mass grave.]

santa-muerte-denounced-by-vatican_67291_600x450Cardinal Ravasi points out that the Santa Muerte is not a religion just because it is dressed up like a religion. The cardinal stresses the importance to impress upon young people that these criminal groups have no religion, and that their activities run counter to human, social and cultural values. [Sigh.  How about, they run counter to the Gospel of Christ and objectively constitute commission of a mortal sin!  How about……they are EVIL!]

To counteract this satanic cult it is important to be faithful to Christ, our Good Shepherd, who has conquered sin, death and Satan himself, and to live by the guidance of the Holy Spirit and call on the protection of Our Lady of Guadalupe. And remember, that the true santas and santos in our Catholic faith are women and men who down through the ages have witnessed by holy lives to the Risen Savior, have rejected Satan and have been faithful followers of Jesus even to the point of giving their lives in martyrdom. These are the true Santos and Santas that we want to follow.

celebracion-del-7o-an-del-altar-a-la-santa-muerte-en-tepito1I like that last paragraph a lot.  Simple language, but conveying such critical truths that are so often forgotten today.

Santa muerte has exploded in the past few decades, at the same time concepts like “inculturation” and  the general suppression of traditional piety have been so widespread in the Church, especially in countries like Mexico where the fall from traditional Catholic practice to shocking modernism was so incredibly swift. Mexico was founded on the ruins of the Aztec Empire, an empire that practiced formal human sacrifice as the core act of their entire religion/culture. Human sacrifice and death worship were practiced on a scale not seen at least since ancient times.

But since Vatican II, and the general cultural marxist attacks on Western culture and the Catholic Faith in particular, there has been almost a Church-

"Penitents" walking for blocks on their knees to appease santa muerte

“Penitents” walking for blocks on their knees to appease santa muerte

approved revival of numerous Aztec practices. Most parishes with any significant hispanic population will almost certainly now feature a troupe of Aztec dancers! I don’t think it any accident, then, that at a time when the Church has so visibly collapsed in Mexico, with so many traditional acts of piety ridiculed and downplayed, that something very twisted would emerge in its wake. Something was going to fill that vacuum – for most people in the US, it’s mindless materialism, but in Mexico it’s something much more dark, much more sinister.  There is a visible tie-in between this “santa muerte” and the old Aztec death worship.

Which just goes to show that those old pieties that modernists like Richard McBrien and others love to denigrate did not just randomly materialize, they did not just sort of develop a life of their own without being very efficiacious of Grace and conversion.  They were very, very effectual, which is why they were so widely practiced and so cherished for so long. The Church must recover its traditional pieties – the Rosary, Eucharistic Adoration, Processions, all kinds of little sacramentals like blessings of candles, etc., etc. – if it is to recover its vigor and its very soul.

Or else, we can expect to see more and more abominations of desolation like this below, the very worst of all, the mocking of the Blessed Virgin as a harbinger of death:

imagesCACK0MBT

If you want to see how deep and wide this perversion has sunk into Mexico, check out this link. But I warn you, much great immorality present in these photos (but no nudity)- this cult is tightly bound up with alcohol and drug abuse.

Texas Senate demonrats to filibuster abortion bill June 25, 2013

The Texas House has passed a bill banning abortions after 20 weeks – the point at which very much data shows babies can feel excrutiating pain – along with a number of other necessary, just, and helpful restrictions on the practice of child murder (although, the only truly just course of action would be to terminate the practice immediately and forever).  Democrats, having long embraced pagan sexual nihilism as their paramount shibolleth and viewing abortion as a veritiable sacrament, are vehemently opposed.  They are planning a filibuster, which may require Governor Rick Perry to call an additional special session to move the legislation through.  I pray he does:

After the Texas House of Representatives passed the omnibus pro-life bill yesterday to ban abortions after 20-weeks of pregnancy, Democrats in the state Senate are planning to filibuster the measure today.

The House approved the bill early Monday morning after 8 hours of debate by a vote of 97-33 with 5 Democrats voting in favor of the bill and one Republican voting against.

According to Texas Right to Life, Senate Bill 5 would affirm the state’s interest in protecting the lives of preborn children who feel pain by banning abortion at 20 weeks post-fertilization.

Senate Bill 5 also requires all abortion clinics to meet the same health and safety regulations as an ambulatory surgical center, requires a doctor providing abortions to secure admitting privileges at a nearby hospital, and lastly, requires a doctor to personally administer the abortion-inducing drugs to the patient. [Now, let’s think about the logic here. Abortion is an extremely complex and invasive procedure. And the larger the child, the more complex it is.  And yet pro-aborts know that if even these minimal health and safety regulations are imposed, most mills will shut down since having to meet even these basic standards will eat into their profit too much to make their “business model” viable. And recall that Dr. Bernard Nathanson and other pro-aborts have testified that the lucrative nature of current abortion practices in this country was perhaps the prime selling point in getting doctors to perform this ghastly satanic child-murder. All the rhetoric about “women’s health” and waving of coat-hangers (and how many women are rendered sterile, maimed, or killed every year by botched abortions!  More than used to die during the old “back alley” days!) is just nothing but lies, lies used to justify the unjustifiable.  But abortion has become so very sacred to the left, that they will stop at nothing to insure that abortion on demand remains widely available throughout the land.  It is imperative that we in the pro-life movement start to really expose the diabolical links that tie together all the sexual paganism being promoted by the left – contraception, divorce, abortion, sexual depravity, state recognition of sodomite marriage, etc, etc.]

But Democrats oppose the bill claiming it would put many abortion facilities that can’t comply with the basic health and safety laws out of business. [Can’t!  Because then the doctor won’t be able to drive a big Mercedes Benz like the “doctor” at Routh St. Mill in Dallas!  And his wife won’t be able to wear Gucci anymore!] Sen. Wendy Davis, D-Fort Worth, is set to filibuster for 13 hours today.

Hundreds of pro-abortion activists have flooded the Texas capitol to register their opposition. Democratic lawmaker Jessica Farrar, chairwoman of the House pro-abortion caucus, told protesters after the vote, “It really mattered what you did,” making a filibuster possible. [Well, I pray there are even more pro-lifers there.]

SB 5 must pass through one last procedural move in the State Senate where two Democrat senators have made known their intention to filibuster. SB 5 must reach the desk of Pro-Life champ Governor Perry by midnight on Tuesday, the last day of the Special Session, in order to become law.

Let us pray Governor Perry calls another special session, which will wipe out the demonrats ability to filibuster.

I mentioned the monetary factor above, which in spite of the pro-abort rhetoric is not insignificant in the least.  It is inability to reap a rich profit that will all but the most demonic of baby-murderers out of business.  Bishop Rene Gracida quotes an article that reveals that Planned Barrenhood reaps almost twice as much money for a 24 week abortion than they do for an earlier one:

So prudence, mercy and a lack of a compelling need for 20-24 week abortions beg for the Texas ban.  Nonetheless, the Houston Chronicle reports that debate “raged into the night.”  Democrat Senfronia Thompson “brandished a coat hanger,” saying, “There are going to be more people ending up in the hospital, DOA, dead on arrival.”

Confused, I visited a Planned Parenthood website where this disconnect, between love and logic on one hand, and hysteria on the other, was finally solved.  Whereas Planned Parenthood collects $500 for an early term abortion, it requires another $400, for a total of $900, for a later term abortion.  This later term abortion premium represents an 80% increase in revenue for the mega-chain.  Although not exactly a war on women, I suppose foregone profit can make people crazy too. [And this is for a bare-bones basic abortion with no complications. 24 week and beyond abortions frequently run up into the thousands, which you and I get to pay for routinely via Medicaid.]

Money, and the desire to advance their sexular pagan agenda – the ultimate reason behind the burning desire for that latter bit, I know not, only God knows – those are the true motivators for abortion.  There is no true concern for women and children among the pro-abort left.  I was speaking with an evangelical protestant minister friend this morning, and he agreed that abortion is calling down a curse upon this nation.  We Americans have long liked to think – or used to think – that we were especially blessed by God. But how can God bless a nation that murders its own defenseless children at the rate of 2 a minute, 3000 a day?

Greatest sunshade ever! June 25, 2013

My wife always has to have a sunshade on her truck.  She had a bad experience with the dashboard on her first car – a 1976 Pontiac Sunbird with a radiator that refused to hold coolant! – falling apart due to the effects of the sun.  I mean, the car was 18 years old, but……..

I’ve never liked them. They look dorky and they’re a pain to store. They were wildly popular back in the 80s and 90s but hardly anyone uses them anymore. For one, car makers have gotten alot better about the design of their interiors so they don’t crumble under the effects of sun and heat. But I predict the sunshade is about to make a massive comeback with the onset of this:

Who wouldn’t want that?!  I’ll take 3!  Han Solo, Chewbacca, Obi-Wan, and Luke in my car!  Are you kidding!

Aw, they’re sold out!  I would really get one!

Ohhh…….you can get it on E-bay!

Some words I found moving today from The Imitation of the Sacred Heart of Jesus by Fr. Peter Arnoudt:

The voice of  Jesus.—–My Child, they repaid Me evil for good, and returned Me hatred for My love.

Whatever is best and most precious in Heaven, whatever on earth is most useful and wholesome to men, whatever is most sacred and consoling in Religion, I placed, by the disinterested generosity of My Heart, by the most pure love, in this Sacrament.

……..And even among them that frequently resort to My Tabernacle, how many there are who do indeed come, but place an abomination in the holy place! For, how many present themselves before My eyes, in My sacred temple as idols, to lead men astray from devotional love for Me, and to turn away their mind and attention toward themselves!

Not a few resolve in their minds things execrable, cherish in their hearts things detestable; and, by their will, commit sins in My very sight, thus shamefully insulting Me.

How many, also, who by look, or gesture, or by their very immodest dress sadden the Angels, and exasperate Me! [How about tank top, short, and sandals for Sunday Mass? Or Mrs. So and So who lurves to show that cleavage?]

How many there are who would rightly blush, to demean themselves toward a mortal with so much insolence, so much irreverence, as they here exhibit towards Me!

Nowhere, My child, are more cruel affronts heaped upon Me than in this Divine Mystery. Where abounds the goodness of My Heart, there also abounds the wickedness of men.

For how many heretics do impiously deny Me! How many unbelievers do horribly blaspheme Me, whom they know not!

But, My Child, although these things are most grievous, they are, however, less painful to My Heart than the horrifying profanations of them that receive Me sacrilegiously through Communion. [Nancy Pelosi, paging Nancy Pelosi……….Richard McBrien, paging……..]

O how great an insult! How abominable an attempt, when men, even the dispensers of My Mysteries, approach Me, whilst they possess the devil within themselves; and after sacreligiously receiving Me, cast Me, their God, at the feet of satan, who sits enthroned in their heart!

…….And if they are unwilling to be converted, and to love Me in return, I have time sufficient to satisfy My justice, since everlasting ages are Mine.

The Heart of Jesus give us a torrent of grace_ Turgis
