I’m so glad Michael did this. I have been meaning to do a post on the suffering souls in the Philippines, but now here is an even better reason to do so. If you want to help those in the Philippines afflicted by the typhoon in a material way, you can do so through two ChurchMilitant recommended charities:

http://cfcffl.net/

Video below provides a few more details. And if you would, in your charity, say some prayers for those suffering in the Philippines and for the Church there, which is falling somewhat into the same crises that have stricken the Church in the West.  And as Michael notes below, Western aid agencies will use monies intended to help recover from this disaster as a means to force the Philippine state to embrace even more grave western immoralities, like the legalization of abortion and sodomy.  They have already gotten it to embrace contraception.  So please consider helping these faithful Catholic charities above to provide material assistance with an even greater blessing, the Truth Christ has revealed through his Church.

I thank Michael and CMTV for putting this video together.

Can anyone tell me if it is safe to donate to CRS, which received support from the US Bishops this week? I’ve heard some mixed reports on that organization in the past. Does anyone know their current status? Thank you

I absolutely cannot recommend donating to CRS. The problems there are massive. They are taking money from faithful Catholics and giving it to groups that hand out contraception and even advocate for – if not perform themselves – abortions. Stay far away from CRS. Nothing has changed. They are utterly dependent on money from the US government, and the US government insists they fund contraception and abortion initiatives. I don’t think any Catholic, in good conscience, can donate to them.

There are good groups to support. That first link in the post is a good group.

Then how can the bishops, again this week, agree to ask for money from the laity at Mass this Sunday, money which will be given to the CRS for the typhoon victims?

It’s a scandal. The bishops refuse to acknowledge the scandals. There may be some behind the scenes efforts to move people out (you would be shocked and dismayed how many radical pro-aborts and population control nuts work at CRS and Catholic Charities) and clean things up, but nothing public. Publicly, all allegations – or even overwhelming evidence, in the case of CRS – are denied. Business as usual, nothing to see here, move along, and all that.

I do not mean to suggest that I distrust you, but how do you know this? Is there any documentation?

tantamergo - November 14, 2013

Just search CRS on this blog and I think you’ll find ample documentation. LifeSiteNews and American Life League have been all over this. Michael Voris did a video on it:
