Culture rapidly demanding open assent of moral perversion, rather than accepting silent dissent July 1, 2014

There is a disturbing item at a blog I rarely read, describing how corporations are moving to require open, avowed support from their employees of the radical sodomite agenda.  The questions presented by a major public bank are beyond troubling, they indicate that full-on persecution may already be beginning:

I’ve worked at Chase for the past 11 years. Yearly (sometimes skipping a year though) the bank will send out an Employee Survey to gauge how the employees feel about the bank and the management team they report up to. Every year that’s all the questions ever related to: the bank in general and management. But this year there was a question that had many of us scratching our heads.

This is a company wide survey. All lines of business have the same survey. There was a question where it said to check the boxes that were applicable to you. You could select one, more than one, or none. Here it is:

Are you: 1) A person with disabilities; 2) A person with children with disabilities; 3) A person with a spouse/domestic partner with disabilities; 4) A member of the LGBT community.

I thought 4 was a little oddly placed, but oh well. It was the next option that pulled the needle off the record:

5) An ally of the LGBT community, but not personally identifying as LGBT.  [Perhaps, while we still have the means, now is a good time to pressure Chase, demanding to know why on earth they would ask such an invasive and leading question.  There have been reports of those fallen into the sins of Sodom and Gomorrah either running amok at corporations, or being given a free hand, to do these kinds of things. The person who implemented the 50 ridiculous gender flavors at Facebook apparently did so on their own initiative, and is in fact a very sexually confused person.]

What?! What kind of question was that? An “ally” of that community? What’s the
alternative if you don’t select that option? You’re not a ally of the LGBT

This survey wasn’t anonymous.[That’s huge] You had to enter your employee ID. With the way things are going and the fact that LGBT rights are being viewed as pretty much tantamount to the civil rights movement of the mid 50s to late 60s, not selecting that option is essentially saying “I’m not an ally of civil rights”; which is a vague way to say “I’m a bigot.” The worry among many of us is that those who didn’t select that poorly placed, irrelevant option will be placed on the “you can fire these people first” list.

The message to all employees is perfectly clear:  You are expected to fall into line with the approved and required thinking.  Nothing short of assent is acceptable. Silent dissent will no longer be permitted.

———–End Quote———–

Of course not. The sodomite is perverse in mind and act.  Generally speaking, they know they are not normal, at least on some level.  Thus they crave a constantly increasing affirmation from all around them that what they do is right and good, even while the Law of God written on their hearts tells them, maddeningly, that there will never be enough affirmation to permanently quiet that still, small voice that speaks to all of us, if we do not kill it with drugs, sex, and other diversions.  “Homosexuals” are past masters at that killing, but still, the voice remains.  As a recovering addict, I can attest that no amount of drugs or anything else will ever drive that voice all the way away, especially for those given the Grace of Baptism.

Using corporations as a tool for their agenda is an incredibly effective and insidious means of advancing it. Since so many Americans work for corporations, the required assent will soon force millions of Christians to make gut-wrenching decisions between being employed and their faith.  Many will likely choose to remain employed.  And quietly, over time, their reluctant assent will move to full-throttled assent.

That will place those of us who remain obstinate in their refusal to embrace what Jesus Christ, through His Church, has always believed to be incredibly immoral and offensive to God, in a tighter and tighter vice.  Vastly outnumbered, we will be asked why we maintain our hateful intolerance and bigotry when most “Christians” have gotten on-board with the new enlightenment.  And then, the real persecution will start.

We should be prepared for the fact that the worst insults and injuries will likely come from our purported co-religionists.  It will no doubt be very painful to not only suffer at the hands of the culture in the coming persecution by the perverse, but to have other self-described Catholics, even priests and bishops, tell us how wrong, even evil, we are.  We must steel ourselves for that reality now, because I fear it is coming.  Some may even lead us to the stake, as Saint Thomas More was proceeded to the scaffold by the arch-traitor and arch-heretic Thomas Cranmer.

Evil days ahead, I fear.  We better get prayed up.

Texas officials: 1/3 of illegal children crossing border have been raped? July 1, 2014

I am generally extremely dubious of rape statistics, especially in the present environment.  All this claptrap coming out of colleges about 1/4 of all women on campus being victims of rape or some kind of sexual assault is demonstrably, diabolically false. Such claims are nothing but fodder for radical feminists to continue their campaign of hate against men.  I’m sure rapes do happen on colleges, I’m sure they happen everywhere, but much of what passes for “rape” at college is the morning after reaction of an immature young “lady” finding out her “true love” was just another hook up.  It’s the hook up culture on college campuses that needs ending, not the fake “rape culture.”

Having said that, it is disturbing that Texas officials attempting to deal with the ongoing sudden flood of Central American illegal immigrants into the country claim that 1/3 of the children have been raped or abused by the immigrant smugglers and narcos in Mexico.  Even if that is only 10% true, its a damning indictment of this attempt by Obama to force amnesty to the table by encouraging a massive flood of immigrants, including many minors:

As we enter the merciless summer months where temperatures average well above 100 degrees along the Texas Mexico border, the possibility exist for a larger wave of causalities among illegal immigrants trying to gain access to the United States.

With the oppressive summer heat “it’s going to be very, very dangerous in this part of the country to have young kids women and other folks to come in,” says Texas Congressman Henry Cuellar (D-Laredo, TX).

On Monday a South Texas sheriff announced the discovery of a 11 year old Guatemalan boys body about a mile from the border. Cuellar said the discovery of the boys body reinforces just how perilous the journey is into the US.

“Certainly I hope they stop coming because we probably will have more deaths as the hot weather continues,” says Cuellar. “It’s not just the heat that could kill them but there are other dangers. Officials at Lackland Air Force Base told us that one-third of young girls that come across – and they were just like little babies; 10, 11, 14 years of age. That about one third of them get raped and/or abused on the way here.”

Cuellar says that as he was speaking to Customs and Border Patrol agents he was also discovering a disturbing trend of adults “renting” children in Central America in order to increase their chances of being able to stay in the U.S. once they cross over.

I have believed from the beginning this is an artificial crisis.  I am convinced the Obama administration has encouraged this mass exodus of Central Americans to this country.  The situation there has not suddenly gotten worse.  There is not some new conflict, or dramatically worsened economic conditions.

Someone has spread the word, and in a big way, in those countries that the US is about to declare an amnesty.  Congress, in spite of Republican fecklessness, is not going to do so.  I think Obama has created this “crisis” so he can have an excuse to suddenly declare – completely unconstitutionally, and in violation of existing federal law (that is, illegally) – a shamnesty by executive mandate.  The democrats are already threatening constitutional crisis because Congress “won’t act.”  The arrogance and tyranny of this man know no bounds.  It is shocking what has developed under his administration.  But most people remain blissfully ignorant.

I would hope the enormous sufferings of the immigrants might, however, provoke a change of heart in a group of men who should, one would hope, have more of a conscience on such matters than Obama.  I refer to the bishops of this country, who have long played an incredibly callous game by tacitly (or openly) encouraging illegal immigration to help solve their problem of a Church in collapse.  This game ignores the suffering they encourage, it ignores the great damage mass illegal immigration inflicts on this nation and the wages of workers, and it dismisses the harm many immigrants do to their souls and their families, often in abandoning them to come “get rich” in America.

Certainly there is room for legal immigration, and certainly our nation’s immigration system is broken.  But the USCCB and many individual bishops have been acting plainly in their own self-interest in this immigration debate for decades, dramatically understating the negative aspects of illegal immigration while exaggerating its benefits.  There are certain bishops – and possibly parts of the USCCB, as well – who have broadcast to potential immigrants that they will help them break the law (and, quite possibly, break up their families) by giving them assistance once they arrive here.  This assistance is often assistance in the commission of grave sin, such as spousal abandonment, which is rampant in many emigre’ communities.  Inadvertent though such assistance may be, we essentially never hear this fact even considered in the USCCB promotion pieces for amnesty.  And so the human suffering continues mounting.

There are many reasons to insist on control over the southern border before any broad-based immigration reform can take place. Until we have a handle on the immigration environment, it will be impossible to reform it. It is strange to see the Catholic bishops making bedfellows with the exploiters of the US Chamber of Commerce (I’m sorry, that’s what much of this is, exploitation), but that’s where we’re at.  Both use the same demonizing tactics to try to discredit the large majority of Americans who insist that the southern border be much better defended or controlled, be that by a fence, ditch, moat, electronic barrier, punji stakes, tiger traps, whatever.  The status quo only benefits certain narrow interests.  Ditto shamnesty.  It’s just a great shame and embarrassment to see the USCCB on the wrong side of an issue again.

Some really lovely spiritual reading from St. Peter Julian Eymard, the great Saint of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, on our Blessed Mother, from Vol. VII of the Eymard Library, Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament:

Mary was the most humble of all creatures, consequently in Heaven she is now the most glorious.  If she is seated on the tumblr_m83rp0dF1U1roniu7o1_500throne nearest to that of her Divine Son, it is because she approached nearer than any other to the perfection of His humility.  In her earthly life she has been looked upon as one of Eve’s sinful daughters – she who had never felt the taint of Original Sin!  She had been regarded as ambitious – she who never said a word in self-justification!

No one was so poor as Mary, and never was poverty so meritorious, for she was the Mother of the King of Heaven and earth.  In order to imitate the poverty of Jesus, she worked in Nazareth, begged in Egypt……..All the graces of salvation, both natural and spiritual, will be given us by Mary; she is rich with the riches of God Himself. [thus we see an example of the sensus fidei that argues for Our Blessed Mother being Mediatrix of All Grace]

And if Divine Justice did not oppose the inclinations of her maternal heart, the very gates of hell would soon be closed. The demon has been forced to acknowledge that he is never sure of victory so long as he whom Mary protects retains a breath of life. She annunciation1supplicates, importunes and snatches, as it were, from God the graces of mercy and pardon for the most hardened sinners.

.if happiness is in proportion to suffering, no one in Heaven is so happy as Mary, for having never loved so much as she, no one could have suffered so much. It was God’s Will that Mary should suffer a continual martyrdom. Simeon’s prophecy poisoned all her joy.  From the moment of its utterance, Mary substituted for Jesus while He was still too young to suffer publicly.  [This is an interesting claim. It is counter to some other saintly descriptions of Jesus’ life.  Take it for what you will]Our_Lady_of_La_Salette_statue

And at the foot of the Cross she is nearest to Jesus in order that she may suffer more.  Because Jesus wished to have her nearest to Him in Heaven, He united her more than any other creature to his sufferings and humiliations while on earth.

In a word, God has crowned Mary with glory and honor as the Masterpiece of His love. He alone is greater than she: “Solor tonante minor!” But in the midst of her glory, Mary never forgets that she is our Mother.  She ascended to Heaven before us to facilitate our entrance there and to conduct us thither.  She herself will come for us at that supreme moment of our lives – the hour of our death – if we only summon her to our aid!

———End Quote———

I find that last bit such a comforting thought.  I have developed such a tender affection for Our Lady.  I really feel a great closeness to her, in her sinless humanity.  It soothes me to no end to think of Our Lady as advocate for us, and, as noted above, as she who can aid us to Heaven if we call upon her at the end of our life.  Our Lord obviously loves us very much not only to become man to suffer and redeem us, but also to provide us with such an inspiring model in Our Lady and such a great guide.  Our Lord knows that we need both a Father and a mother.

It is so incredible to me how non-Catholics completely miss this enormously important aspect of Christianity.  Orthodox get it to a degree, but certainly not fully.  Such a shame.  They are missing out on such an incredible friend and intercessor!

I asked in the previous post whether or how faithful Catholics should celebrate Independence Day.  Well, here is one really good idea – skip the fireworks and offer up prayers for the conversion of this nation and its government/leaders with the Carmelites in Dallas!

All Night Adoration starts at 5 pm, and goes all night until 7 am!  There are TLMs at 8 pm and 3 am with Confession generally before and after each Mass!  Vigil ends with First Saturday NO Mass.

There is also the Confraternity of the Holy Face devotions Sunday at 3:30 pm.

All information here ——>>>>>  Allnightcarmelites_july_ 2014

The nuns will storm Heaven!

Sadly, I will be out of town and will be unable to attend.  If you would, in your charity, say a prayer for my travels and my being around heavy farm machinery and numerous firearms.  Another way to celebrate this nation’s independence is to engage profligately your 2nd Amendment rights!  I plan on expending hundreds of rounds!  We’re going to have a “mad minute” exercise, to see who can fire the most at least somewhat aimed rounds in a minute from their semi-autos.  I will win, even though I don’t shoot girly 5.56!

There is also Adoration with Benediction at St. Peter’s in Dallas on July 4. I believe the Benediction is in Latin, but MJD may have to correct me.  MJD, I lost the times, leave a comment or send an e-mail and I’ll update.  Other parishes around, like St. Mark, also have 24 hour Adoration on First Friday.

Should faithful Catholics celebrate the 4th of July? July 1, 2014

A reader sent me a fascinating set of questions yesterday regarding how faithful/traditional Catholics should approach the upcoming national celebration of this nation’s independence.  He raised some very interesting points I had honestly not really considered in depth.

As I have grown in knowledge of the traditional Catholic view of “enlightenment” inspired post-Christian libertine democracy, I have come to reappraise my own feelings regarding this country, its political, cultural, and religious orientation, etc.  This knowledge has caused me to grow increasingly convinced that this country as it is founded is not, as John Courtney Murray argued, the perfect embodiment of what a country conducive to the interest of the Church and the salvation of souls should be, but is in fact profoundly deranged from the point of view of the Church, or at least the traditional practice of the Faith.  While the Church in this country has gone whole hog, at least since the Council (but really, long before that) into Americanism, trumpeting our constitutional “right” and “freedoms” as the perfect ideal, from the standpoint of the Tradition, this country is actually oriented to be almost invincibly hostile to the Faith.

This country was not founded by Catholics. It was in fact founded primarily by enlightenment deists profoundly hostile to historical Christendom and in particular to the Catholic Faith.  This country went out of its way to insure that an enlightenment deist hegemony would prevail on this continent, to the extent of crushing a potential Catholic power in the form of Mexico (which, in its original form, would have been as large, and had nearly as many resources, as the remainder of CONUS would have had without the Mexican conquests added to it).  The War of 1848-9 was a war steeped in religious rhetoric and fired, quite frequently, by religious hatred.  There was a fairly clear sense on the American side that the “papists” of Mexico had to be crushed if manifest destiny were to be fulfilled.

Historical incidents demonstrating a bias against the Church aside, more significant are the documents that shape this country, and the outlook and beliefs of the men who wrote and implemented those documents.  Christopher Ferrara goes into great depth demonstrating how the Lockean-Hobbesian principles upon which this country was founded were deliberately shaped to result in a post-Christian society where religion, to the extent it was practiced at all, would be a strictly private affair. This was done to insure that the Church, or church in protestant countries, could never compete with the State again.  This was a return to pagan Roman sensibilities regarding the right (really, wrong) ordering of government, with everything, including the transcendent religion of Jesus Christ, subordinated to the state and its interests.

All the assaults we see against the Church and Her prerogatives, which are really the prerogatives of Jesus Christ the King, flow naturally, and inevitably, from the highly disordered nature of the United States government and culture. They are disordered because by purporting to establish and favor no state religion, agnosticism was actually installed as the de facto state religion.  Yes, there are references to a Creator and a heavenly power in the writings of the Founding Fathers, and a few were even fairly committed protestants, but this is just enlightenment deism manifesting itself, a profoundly indifferentism belief system that posits that if there is a God, he surely doesn’t give a care at all about what happens with us puny creatures, and simply set the universe in motion long ago.  He certainly didn’t become man and establish the One True Church necessary for salvation.

All of the above is mostly to say that the reason we see such a thoroughly immoral and hostile culture and government today, is that reaching this sad point was inevitable from the moment this country was founded. The only surprising thing is how long it has taken to get here, which shows the enduring power of the Christendom the Church created, even in the lives of those who deliberately repudiate the Church.  But I think many feel today we have past a tipping point, and that this culture is accelerating on the downward slope of post-Christianity towards full-on sexular paganism and outright persecution of the few truly faithful souls.

In light of all that, my friend asks…….how do we as American Catholics celebrate Independence Day and these United States – especially when our government is pursuing anti-Catholic (and blatantly immoral) policies at home and abroad?

I might ask differently, do we celebrate them?  I think so, in a way, because Catholics should retain a love of country even in the midst of a government inspired persecution.  Even with an increasingly hostile and insane government and culture, there is still much to love about our country – its natural beauty, its bounty, the fact that there are certainly far worse forms of government, aspects of history, especially some of the glorious Saints that have been raised up here, etc.  There are customs and other elements as well that are not immoral, there is technological achievement that we can be proud of in some sense, and there remain of course millions of good people of varying stripes.

I think a sort of Catholic-centric celebration of the 4th of July might be a very good way to approach the holiday.  We can be thankful for the Church and Saints and holy people we have had and do have.  We can use this holiday as an opportunity to pray for conversion.  We can offer up intentions for more people within the Church to understand the grave problems of modern libertine government.  We can just have fun with our families.

I think it important to stress that we should NOT (sorry for previous typo) act or sound ungrateful.  As I said, there are certainly far worse places to be.  We have an incredible number of blessings in this country, even if we may be disconcerted, even scandalized, by how distant certain endarkenment ideals embedded in this nation’s government and culture are from the Catholic ideal.  I think we can appreciate the many good things, while not being blinded to the fact that we have all of us, essentially, been very carefully indoctrinated into accepting unquestioningly that this nation and its government are undeniably the greatest the world has ever seen.  In some respects, that claim is even true, but in many others, it is false, at least from a traditional Catholic perspective.

So what think you?  One thing I think needs to be stressed, we don’t want to sound like a carping leftist Occupy type, pretending this country is the most racist, classist, oppressive nation there has ever been.  Such claims are stupid, and born of rank ignorance.  There have been and are countries far more hostile to the Faith than this one.  But that should not blind us to the grave deficiencies “baked into” this nation at its founding, and how those fundamental errors are manifesting themselves inexorably today. Nor should it blind us to the almost certain fact that those same errors make it quite possible for this nation to turn into one of evil anti-Catholic persecution, should there not be a great change in direction.

Again, what are your thoughts on how to celebrate the 4th of July?  And I hope I haven’t spoiled your holiday!
