In the Church’s hour of greatest need, +Dolan fails again October 16, 2014

Seeing as this only has 500 views on Youtube, maybe most folks haven’t seen this, yet.  Reader MFG sent this to me this morning.  I find this interview disconcerting on many levels. First, his initial glad-handed chuminess is way over the top and appears just overtly insincere.  Then he attempts constantly to minimize the divisions in the Synod and gives an unreserved approval of the attempt to redefine Church Doctrine with regard to the groinal issues so sacred to the modernists (adulterers receiving the Blessed Sacrament, regularizing and “solemnizing” divorce through reception of the Blessed Sacrament, gift-bearing sodomites, the whole schmeel).  He says there are only some disagreements on a bit of wording. That’s not the impression more honest reports have given – and it is also quite a bit in contrast to the presentations Cardinal Burke has given.  He carries himself throughout with all the gravity and sincerity of a bad used car salesman.

But perhaps the worst part to me is that when the newsreader repeats the part of the “Relatio” that has given the most scandal – the bit about sodomites bearing gifts – Dolan says, “hey, that’s great!  We’re already welcoming them in New York!”  And you know, he’s telling the truth!  The link relays that scandalous time when Dolan nodded approvingly as people in manifest states of perverse unchastity presented to receive the Blessed Sacrament.  But then when asked what he thinks about Cardinal Burke’s solemn denunciation of the entire Relatio, he says “Of course, I agree!  It needs major reworking!”

The end of the interview is, if possible, even more disquieting.  This guy doesn’t seem to understand at all what the Church is about – his conception seems almost entirely humanistic.

But more than anything, he’s an empty clerical suit, blowing in the windswept house:

And this is the guy Archie Bunker Bill Donahue has thrown his reputation away for?

A couple of weeks ago, the homily we heard compared Cardinal Dolan to Jesus Christ and we were told that those of us who criticize him are Pharisees. Yeah.

Tantumblogo - October 16, 2014

Sheesh where was that?

From a distance, I would strongly suspect whoever offered that homily of perhaps having disordered attractions.

The only Latin Mass in the diocese of Des Moines. Makes you wonder, doesn’t it?

I had lost confidence (if I had any) in Timothy Cardinal Dolan after he had composed for The Archdiocese of New York’s web site an article about “Catholic markers”…vital symbols of the Faith.

Cardinal (then-Archbishop) Dolan noted that Vatican II Era virtual destruction of such Catholic practices as Friday penance, liturgical solemnity, Latin…

He noted that sociologists have long indicated that religious symbols (markers) are vital to a religion’s health.

He stated that the need to recover tradition within the Church was worthy of discussion.

But after having noted that collapse of tradition and it’s negative consequences within the Church, then-Archbishop Dolan declared that it was probably too late to restore tradition…the “toothpaste was already out of the tube”.

He even went as to far to state that he was not convinced that the recovery of tradition in the Church was a good thing.

Huh? What?

His bizarre message was…Tradition is important…Tradition isn’t important…let’s think about restoring Tradition…let’s not think about restoring Tradition.

It is incredible that so many Churchmen…I mean one after another…incapable of speaking clearly.

Read on the Internet then-Archbishop Dolan’s column about “Catholic Markers”.

You won’t believe the doubletalk.

BARF! Yeah, in New York they are already welcoming the sin of sodomy and promoting sacrilegious communions, etc. and also a snide persecution against the most faithful of the Catholics. Bad stuff here and this talking suit must answer to Christ. He needs prayers for conversion.

Would you buy a used car from him? I would not!

UHGG>>>>”THE HUMAN PROJECT????!@!” HELLO! Its not the human project Cardinal. Its the God-project.

In light of the awful Church leadership that we have in America, I pray and hope that Cardinal Burke will visit the United States as soon as possible.

We need him desperately to launch and lead a national day or weekend of Prayer, Penance, Fasting, Rosary and Procession Crusade to beg God to deliver America and the world from an unimaginable Ebola Virus outbreak.

Think of Pope Saint Gregory The Great’s Procession that implored God successfully to halt the plague in Rome circa 590 A.D.

The Pope walked the streets of Rome with the icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Baby Jesus…Salus Populi Romani.

I would think that Pope Francis would employ his awesome authority to exhort the Church to perform the above throughout the world as he led Procession in Rome.

But if not, the Cardinal Burke could at least lead the way to launch a Procession for the Church in America…for that matter, throughout the Americas.

Those who are Catholic are intended to feel a bit betrayed that someone of his caliber could have so much trust in the institutional Church.

I think your commentary is spot on and describes my own reaction. I don’t mean to be harsh, but it is truly embarrassing and mind-blowing.

TG - October 17, 2014

My exact feelings.

One other thing: the Cardinal gives in to this whole myth of being “welcoming” as if somehow the Church (or individuals parishes) are openly discriminating against (banning) gay people from the Church, which is not the issue at all. Yet he allows the media stake the claim and then has to try to show how ‘welcoming’ we really are.

Why doesn’t he simply call out the false assumption and state that the issue is not about welcoming at all, the issue is whether gays will convert. No gay person is banned from the Church by virtue of their sexual orientation.

And, we all know that to a secular mind, ‘welcoming’ in this context means accepting or condoning.

Pray for all who suffer in New York with Dolan as their archbishop. The archdiocese is in free fall.

Donahue. Was really disgusted, but Dolan and Donahue are Velcro buddies, the Faith comes next. Dolan will do anything to be in the Parade and Donahue will be in after the parade organizers will fix it up still allowing Sodomites.

What the hell do these buddies junk the Faith of Ages for a stinky parade watched by dunkers?

Both don’t give a dam that the Sodomites win against the Church defended by cowards. Now thanks to these cowards the Sodomites will win more battles.
