Cleaning out the ol’ inbox of items I haven’t had time to get to.
First up, a wealthy Christian man in Pakistan is building the largest cross in the country. This has peeved the country’s militant and thoroughly wacked-out muslim majority, but he’s continued the effort. There’s a catch, however, that will surely gladden the ecumaniac’s hearts:
Now towering over this violent port city in Pakistan, where Islamic militant attacks and gangland shootings remain common, is an uncommon sight in this Muslim-majority country: a 42-meter (140-foot) Christian cross.
The cross, being built by a businessman who said the idea came to him in a dream, is rising as Christians here often face discrimination. A tiny minority of Pakistan’s 180 million people are Christians who eke out livings in menial jobs like garbage collection.
Christians have faced mob violence in blasphemy cases, which often turn out to be false allegations over personal disputes. Under Pakistan’s harsh blasphemy laws, anyone accused of insulting Islam, the Prophet Muhammad or other religious Islamic figures can be sentenced to death. [There was a time when the state authorities in Christian countries did the same. The Inquisition, contrary to its popular depiction, almost entirely made up by militant Church-hating endarkenment philosphes and their intellectual children, was actually a means used by the Church to afford the accused some rights in these kinds of proceedings]
Christians also face extremist attacks. A Taliban suicide attack outside two churches in Lahore in March killed 15 people during services. In 2013, another Taliban suicide attack killed over 80 people at the All Saints Church in Peshawar.
The persecution has forced some Christians to flee, though some remain, like businessman Parvez Henry Gill. Gill said he had a dream some two years ago in which God told him to do something for his community…..
“I want to show the world the Christian community in Pakistan has religious freedom,” he said….. [Yeah, tell that to Asia Bibi. I don’t know how you can have freedom when dozens of Christians are being beaten, bludgeoned, or blown up every year]
…….The construction of the cross came as a surprise to many living around it, neighbor Adnan Ali said. But Bishop Sadiq Danial of Church of Pakistan, an Episcopal church, said he offered to demolish the cross if it becomes too divisive, though he doubted it would come to pass. [What does that mean? Is the “bishop” going to get out there with a hammer and chisel and take the thing down? Typical Anglican approach, serve the world and multi-culti interests before Christ, not that I would expect much different]
“We spread peace,” he said.
And muslims answer with bombs and rockets. How’s that workin’ out for ya?
Now for something completely different, and much better – did you know the 33 buttons on the cassock worn by priests and bishops is symbolic of Christ’s 33 years on earth? That’s so awesome! Everything in the Church’s magnificent Tradition has meaning!

A couple more things. I saw this video below the other night and thought it had potential, but wound up being pretty stupid in its ending. First of all, a Predator would run through medieval level warriors, even the great Knights of the Temple of Jerusalem, like a buzzsaw through butter. Secondly, I hated the “give peace a chance” ending. Thirdly, they did manage to make the Church, or at least the Templars, look corrupt and worldly. Fourthly, this wasn’t the “dark ages,” it was the Middle Ages. Finally, a woman? If you watch the video, you’ll see her at one point try run through some brush……she comes off dainty and silly. She’s no Joan of Arc.
Anyway, if you’ve got 20+ minutes to kill, you might give it a watch. It does have pretty high production values for such a low budget indie type effort:
Much better, an Texas Country Reporter episode on a couple that lives way out in West Texas with no electricity or running water. I wonder how far from Shafter they live? Looks pretty similar. They live in a 19th century standard of living and seem quite happy doing so. Good for them, that’s the kind of “prepping” I can understand, though I’m sure I’m too soft at present to be able to live like that:
Pope Francis will be in Philadelphia Sept 26-27 of this year, immediately on the heels of the “World Meeting of Families” being held Sept 22-25. This world meeting has definitely been presented as being an aspect of the Pope’s visit. It is thus strange that Michael Hitchborn and the Lepanto Institute have found that the woman who serves as the primary decision-maker regarding who may present or exhibit at this World Meeting of Families is a long-time out n’ proud Gomorrist advocate. One must wonder how a woman who has so repeatedly advocated for the state to recommend pretended marriage between individuals of the same sex can possibly be giving fair treatment and representation to Catholic groups who present views antithetical to her own. One must also wonder why the Church and Church-affiliated organizations in this country continue to have so many like-minded individuals in position of great influence:
Pope Francis is set to visit the United States for the first time this September, just prior to the second half of the Synod on the Family meetings, which conclude the following month. According to the World Meeting of Families 2015 website, “The theme of the World Meeting of Families — Philadelphia 2015 is ‘Love Is Our Mission: The Family Fully Alive,’ emphasizing the impact of the love and life of families on our society.” For at least one gatekeeper at this event, the definition of “family” includes same-sex couples.
Just a quick note on that. According to a study performed by a PhD lost in this particular sin from the 90s (from Making Gay Okay, and his inclination towards sodomy would disincline him towards giving a negative impression of this lifestyle), fewer than 8% of either male or female relationships of this type last more than 4 years. Matozzo is the kind of person the advocates for this lifestyle like to trot out to try to convince people to support this immorality (it has succeeded brilliantly), but this is hardly the reality. A relationship persisting that long – if indeed it has, and if it is indeed “monogamous” – is a very rare thing.

Conclusion
The problem here is very clear and quite simple. An individual responsible for vetting exhibitors and sponsors for a marquee Catholic event should know, love and faithfully serve the Catholic Church. Even just having a mere non-Catholic vet sponsors and exhibitors would be problematic for the simple reason that they wouldn’t have a proper understanding of or vested interest in maintaining the integrity of Catholic teaching among the sponsors and exhibitors. But to place an individual whose very lifestyle is the complete antithesis of the most basic tenets of Catholic moral teaching in such a position is to pose a great danger to the integrity of the event. A shepherd may as well make a wolf responsible for guarding the gate of a sheepfold. [Well, how many of our shepherds are quite wolfie themselves?]
Contact the World Meeting of Families 2015 organizers and let them know precisely why this is a problem and ask how and when this problem will be resolved.

As for this woman and her position, what a scandal, but given that many like individuals fill positions at the USCCB, Catholic Charities, Katholyc Relyfe Services, and your local parish and/or chancery, should we really be surprised? There has been a deliberate infiltration of the Church by people who can only be considered enemies in the truest sense, and who are working to undermine, if not all but eliminate, the Church from within. Many of those have been hired and promoted by like minded priests and bishops, many of whom share the same disordered inclinations if not the same outright sins.
I’m afraid things will get worse before they get better. I do hope this woman is removed from that position while there is still time.
I should add briefly, while this event is surely tied into the Pope’s visit, there is nothing to indicate he has any involvement in this woman’s role. This is purely an American or World Meeting of Families cockup.

WE will be praying outside The Men’s Club, 2340 W. Northwest Hwy, Dallas, on Wednesday June 3, at 8 pm. WE will actually be across the street in the parking lot of the US Post Office. This is directly across from the entrance to the inappropriately named “gentleman’s club.”
The post office parking lot is well lit and set back some distance from the very busy roadway. It is public land so we cannot be harassed for being there. It’s really an ideal situation, we are basically impossible to miss by patrons leaving this sexually oriented business (SOB). Men over 18 only. All men are welcome. You don’t have to be a member of a particular parish. WE will stay for at least an hour, maybe an hour and a half, depending on how many show up.
This is a small way to push back against the culture of license, perversion, and death.
I pray you are able to make it. Bring your friends. Fly in from out of town! Rent buses!

Four Dallas residents, two men and two women, have been arrested for beating a pregnant teen to the point that she miscarried, and then attempting to destroy the evidence of this murder in what can only be described as total loss of personal control to a demonic influence:
Four people are under arrest for beating a pregnant 14-year-old girl in order to force an abortion.
A fifth relative was arrested for sexually assaulting the girl. News 8 has chosen not to name that suspect or his exact relationship to the sexual assault victim as to not reveal the girl’s identity. [It was her own father]
According to court documents, between January and March 2013, a teenage girl was beaten at a home in Dallas. There were several adults in the house who were upset with the girl’s pregnancy.
Those arrested for the beating were cousins of the teenager.
They learned the girl was pregnant after she was sexually assaulted by a relative and wanted to get rid of the baby, so they allegedly beat the girl until she aborted. [It sounds like the 14 yo was complicit in this? Beat my baby out of me?]
……The assault occurred in the living room of Sharon Jones’ house. The girl told police that Cecila McDonald, 25, pinned the girl’s “arms down to the floor as Accomplice Lonnell McDonald sat on the complaint’s stomach and began repeatedly bouncing up and down. Accomplice Sharon Jones called suspect Cedric Jones Jr. and told him to come over to the house.”……..
……According to court documents, the suspects continued to beat, punch, and kick the girl in the stomach.
The assault caused serious bodily injury to the girl……..
The girl then began “throwing up and having severe cramps,” the affidavit said, adding these gruesome details:
“She was uncontrollably pushing and delivered what she believed was a stillborn baby … Accomplice Cecila McDonald entered the bathroom and placed the baby in a white plastic mop bucket and removed it from the room.”
At some point after the assault, the baby was placed in a short, pill-shaped, black metal charcoal grill and attempted to burn it.”
The affidavit said the family members then plotted to dispose of the body.
“Accomplice Sharon Jones contacted suspect Cedric Jones Jr. approximately two days later and offered to pay him $25 if he would take care of the rest of it. Suspect Cedric Jones, along with a witness, returned to the location at which time Suspect Cedric Jones Jr. placed the remains in a dark green plastic bag with a red drawstring, placed it in his trunk, and stashed the remains in an unknown location.”
Just satanic.
Now, pro-aborts will point at this nightmare and say: “See what happens when there are restrictions on abortion?!” I would counter with: “See to what depths people will sink after decades of pro-abort rhetoric and constant propaganda that argues that sexual pleasure can be divorced from reproduction?!?” I would also point out that it is just this kind of underage abortion involving abuse that the abortion industry most assiduously tries to keep covered up, even up to and including major crimes committed by a sitting governor.
People have always been fallen, always prone to evil. But we’re more and more getting to a point where barbarity has a casualness, an indifference, about it that is really chilling. This is what comes of teaching people that might makes right and that emotion and self-pleasing are the only rule that should guide. This is also a direct result of the deliberate de-Christianization of this country.

Anyone who has paid to Bruce Jenner’s said transformation since his glory days at the 1976 Olympics will know that he has always craved that limelight that so briefly shined on him in the mid-late 70s. As the celebrity began to dim, he went to rather extreme lengths at times to try to restart his “career.” Jenner spent most of the late 70s and 80s trying to piece together an acting career to stay on the “A list.” However, his efforts were largely unsuccessful, and he gradually slipped from the public consciousness. He appeared in infomercials for much of the 90s and 00s, then struck gold when his step-daughter Kim Kardashian became an unreal “reality TV show” idol. However, a looming divorce and the inevitable decline in the show’s ratings meant something had to be done. An entire backstory has now been created that Bruce Jenner always felt trapped as a woman in a man’s body – but there are a number of discrepancies in those accounts, including the fervent denial of his most recent ex-wife that this “conflict” has persisted for a long time.
Jenner, a father of six, has been far from alone in discerning that the next great cultural “advance” into wanton immorality and the destruction of virtue will surround so-called transgenderism, a word that did not exist until 1980. While sodomy is still enjoying its ascendance, sexular pagan forces are already gathering around the notion of “gender” as fluid, even while they maintain the laughable proposition that “sexuality” is etched in stone. Transgender advocates and those “brave” (re: depraved) enough to “make the change” are showered with accolades and encouraged to embrace their life-destroying perversion. Indeed, Jenner is to be honored as ESPN’s “highest award,” and Disney has indicated its support for his grave psychological imbalance through an upcoming animated movie Inside Out. Time Magazine has called Jenner an “instant icon” and opines that his descent into sexual madness is “revolutionary” for the transgender community. He has been feted and interviewed and given every possible reinforcement for making this now irrevocable decision.
And Jenner is hardly alone. A reader and friend who works at a major area defense contractor saw his company go all out to encourage and support a man who now believes he is really a woman (but no matter how much mutilation is done, that pesky Y chromosome just will not go away). A major internal PR offensive was mounted, and any dissenting voices were squashed, and quite harshly. The none-too-subtle message to employees was that they will get on board with this. Many other companies, including my former employer Cisco Systems, behave similarly.
So please do not tell me that surely no one would go through all this difficulty and drama unless they really were supposed to be the other sex! Just as there are a panoply of reasons behind false rape allegations, the culture is giving all manner of rewards and encouragements for people to embrace this most destructive of lifestyles (nearly half of all “transgenders” will attempt suicide, and half of those will succeed). And note that this phenomenon afflicts men disproportionately: over 2/3 of those who have their bodies mutilated in pursuit of realizing their “dream” are men. As has already been noted on this site, there is a burgeoning industry in the field of psychology that exists to more or less coax men into making this irreversible, nightmarish change. And there are many individuals out there who truly feel their lives were more or less ruined, I think is the right word, once the irreversible act has been completed. The highest suicide rates of any definable group on the planet exists among “post-operative transgenders” – men who have seen their bodies irrevocably changed, their very manhood lost forever.
I think it no accident that men are disparately sucked into this madness. This is part of a much broader trend towards the destruction of masculinity. As such, Jenner, the great athlete and icon, succumbing to this grave illness is an enormous triumph for the sexular pagan left. But if it hadn’t been him, someone else would have succumbed to the temptation to seek the accolades and adulation he is garnering. Already we are being told that Jenner can “finally be ‘herself,'” with the sexular pagan left instantly advancing the lie that Jenner’s previous very masculine, very manly existence was the false one, and his current psycho-pathology is the “real him.” Up is down, black is white, Laverne Lenny is Shirley. Every single thing the sexular pagans advance is a diabolical lie that obliterates good in souls and is destroying the entire culture.
I feel very badly for the lost, confused Jenner. I fear his life will end at his own hands, as it does in so many individuals who have gone down the path he has chosen. I pray that is not the case. But once the furor dies down, once his usefulness to the sexular pagan left is gone, once he looks horrible as an overly modified septuagenarian, once all the means of exciting publicity are gone, there will be only one way to return to the limelight. And I fear this poor desperate lost man will choose it.
Is this not the kind of wreckage that was predicted when women were encouraged to reject their true nature as caring nurturers of life and the devoted partner of one man for life? Did not Pope Paul VI indicate in Humanae Vitae that women would find themselves treated as disposable objects should mass contraceptive use become the norm? Is it not likely that the reason why so many young women are so incredibly troubled today is because they have embraced a toxic ideology that impels them to behave in ways completely contrary to their true nature? And yet, incredibly, it seems the embrace of this ideology has only accelerated in recent years. The number of women – most of whom could not tell you who won the Battle of Midway or who wrote Don Quixote – who are espousing pretentious terms like “heteronormativity,” “the male gaze,” “cisgender,” and all the rest certainly appears to be skyrocketing.
That is, the pathology continues to grow.
It appears women, in particular (it does apply to men to a degree), are being simultaneously infantalized and wantonized. A jaded vindictive hussy with the emotional maturity of a 10 year old is not a stable combination. I am convinced many of these months – or years – after the fact “rape” allegations (always stemming from situations where the matter devolves down to her word against his) are the product of latent guilt over young women giving away their most precious commodity – their virtue – at literally the drop of a hat. I think there is more than a little bit of vindictiveness mixed into many of these claims – witness how “mattress girl” Emma Sulkowicz apparently went to the police not to really file a charge, but to exercise a legal mechanism whereby the man she so wanted to destroy could be publicly named and shamed. Once his name was in public, she stopped cooperating with police and the charges were dropped.
But I don’t think it provocative to say that anyone who would carry around a mattress all day for months to prove a point is more than a little unhinged.
There is something more, however. Feminists like to pretend that no woman would ever, ever prevaricate when making a rape allegation. But as we have seen in the case of Emma Sulkowicz, a rape allegation conveys enormous power and prestige instantly. I can think of ten or more reasons off the top of my head why a woman would make up a rape allegation, knowing that the allegation itself is enough to destroy the credibility of the accused: revenge, mental imbalance, desire for attention, money, power, vindictiveness, to explain away infidelity, to explain away pregnancy, as a way of feeling validated, as a way to explain away personal failings, etc.
I’m starting to wander off point, but I think it has been amply made. The sexular pagan ethos is profoundly hurtful to people, but I think women, for many reasons, bear the brunt. Men are more disposed to the kind of barbaric, law of the jungle environment the left seems hell-bent on foisting on us all. Civilization in fact developed, or was given us by God, as an outgrowth of the family and as an extension of the system of protections to optimize family life. Behavioral standards were enforced, irrespective of any religious dictates, to dramatically improve the environment in which the woman-man pairing and the provision of a stable environment for the raising of children could be maintained.
But the left wants unlimited power, and the family is the largest remaining obstacle to that. They lie and pretend that they are giving people “freedom” when they are really enslaving them and spreading untold misery. We are seeing the fruits of that misery in just a few of the items above. And that’s just a tiny fraction of the ways in which sexular paganism is destroying people’s lives.
Lord, so much to pray for. Have mercy on all these poor lost souls.
