Our Lord warned us these days would come June 11, 2015

I found it providential yesterday that I wound up reading both Jeremias XI and II Thess II.  Two chapters from Sacred Scripture that provide very good warning for the times in which we live, and for the dangers of rejecting the very clear and plain Law our Lord, in His beneficence, has provided us.

First, II Thessalonians (my comments):

And we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and of our gathering together unto Him; That you be not easily moved from your sense, nor be terrified, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by epistle………Let no man deceive you by any means, for unless there come a revolt first, and the man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition, [Pope Saint Pius X openly worried whether the man of sin was not only unleashed on the earth, but was ensconced within the Church, over 100 years ago]  Who opposeth, and is lifted up above all that is called God, or that is worshiped, so that he sitteth in the temple of God, [in the Church?] shewing himself as if he were God…….

And now you know what withholdeth, that he may be revealed in his time.  For the mystery of iniquity already worketh…..And then that wicked one shall be revealed whom the Lord Jesus shall kill with the Spirit of His mouth; and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming; him, Whose coming is according to the working of satan, in all power, and signs, and lying wonders, And in all seduction of iniquity to them that perish; because they receive not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. Therefore God shall send them the operation of error, to believe lying: That all may be judged who have not believed the truth, but have consented to iniquity.  But we ought to give thanks to God always for you, brethren, beloved of God, for that God hath chosen you firstfruits unto salvation, in sanctification of the spirit, and faith of the truth.  [I read just last night, how a young girl, about 12, after years of indoctrination into the “glories” of sodomy in a liberal Massachusetts private school, accosted the Christian parents of a recalcitrant classmate, who even after years of cruel persecution still expressed opposition to the sodomite agenda, for having such “hate” in their hearts and for favoring “their interpretation of the Bible.”  This girl, at such a young age, is invincibly convinced of sodomy as something good and natural.  It will take a moral miracle of enormous proportions to convert her from her error.  It is amazing that sodomites and their allies have created this fantasy of Sacred Scripture not condemning sodomy, when by my count it is condemned over a dozen times, and is specifically ranked in Deuteronomy as one of the four sins that cry out to Heaven for vengeance.  I have to fear that girl is one of those afflicted with a reprobate sense as described by St. Paul. I grieve for her and so many like her]

Now Jeremias, with a beautiful prophecy of the coming of Our Lord:

……..Thus saith the Lord the God of Israel: Cursed is the man that shall not hearken to the words of this covenant, Which I commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying: Hear My voice, and do all things that I command you: and you shall be my people, and I will be your God………[It’s almost as if God expects things from us in order to please Him and be saved. Radical!]

And the Lord said to me: Proclaim aloud all these words in the cities of Juda, and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying: Hear ye the words of the covenant, and do them: For protesting I conjured your fathers…….and said: Hearken ye to My voice: And they obeyed not, nor inclined their ear, but walked every one in the perverseness of his own wicked heart: and I brought upon them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do, but they did them not. And the Lord said to me: A conspiracy is found among the men of Juda, and among the inhabitants of Jerusalem.  They have returned to the iniquities of their fathers, who refused to hear My words: so these likewise have gone after strange gods, to serve them: the house of Israel, and the house of Juda, have made void my covenant, which I made with their fathers. [So God is not ALL mercy, but also justice. Who would have thought?  How inconvenient!]

Wherefore saith the Lord: behold I will bring evils upon them, which they shall not be able to escape: and they shall cry to me, and I will not hearken to them. [This was written shortly before the sack of Jerusalem by the Babylonians, due to Israel’s wickedness]  And the cities of Juda, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem shall go, and cry to the gods to whom they offer sacrifice, and they shall not save them in the time of their affliction. [This culture certainly has its panoply of false gods today]  For according to the number of thy cities were thy gods, O Juda: and according to the number of the streets of Jerusalem thou has set up altars of confusion, altars of sacrifice to Moloch. [Wherein babies were offered up as burnt (alive) sacrifices to satan, just as we do today with our babies chemically burned to death in the womb] Therefore, do not thou pray for this people, and do not take up praise and prayer for them: for I will not hear them in the time of their cry to me, in the time of their affliction. [As Saint Thomas has written and Saint Alphonsus endorsed, there can come a time when we so offend God He will no longer hearken to our imprecations. I know some people have trouble with this concept but these great Doctors were clear on this matter: while we always like to think we can repent, we depend on Grace to do so. We never know which sin may be our last, or the one from which we never turn back]  What is the meaning that my beloved hath wrought much wickedness in My house? [The temple, the people of God, and of course the Body of Christ, the Church] Shall the Holy Flesh take away from thee thy crimes, in which thou hast boasted? [This is a most terrifying prophecy for the leadership of the Church to bear in mind in all times. It is plainly pointed at the New Covenant, with the direct reference to the Holy Flesh, the Blessed Sacrament.  The destruction of Jerusalem was a type for the destruction of the Church preceding the parousia]

……And the Lord of hosts that planted thee, hath pronounced evil against thee: for the evils of the house of Israel, and the house of Juda, which they have done to themselves, to provoke me, offering sacrifice to Moloch.  But thou, O Lord, hast shewn me, and I have known: then thou showedst me their doings. And I was as meek as a Lamb, that is carried to be a Victim: and I knew not that they had devised counsels against me, saying: Let us put wood on His Bread, [the Bread of life, laid on a cross] and cut Him off from the land of the living, and let his name be remembered no more!  But thou, O Lord of Sabaoth, [of armies, or hosts] who judgest justly, and triest the reins and hearts, let me see Thy revenge on them: for to Thee I have revealed my cause……

….Therefore thus saith the Lord of Hosts: Behold I will visit upon them: and their young men shall die by the sword, their sons and their daughters shall die by famine.  And there shall be no remains of them, for I will bring evil upon them……

———-End Quote———-

There are people in the Church today who like to pretend that anything written in the Old Testament was made impotent and obsolete by the New Testament. But the Lord Himself, in the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity, said that He came not to abolish the Law, but to fulfill it, and that not one jot or tittle (the smallest characters in the Hebrew alphabet) should fall away until all should be fulfilled.  Our Lord Himself has revealed through inspired and inerrant Scripture that the Church would be afflicted with times like these, when the people of God would fall away in favor of the allurements of the world, the flesh, and the devil.  Our Lord is giving a most stern warning to His Church of the consequences of doing so.  I think the reference to Our Blessed Lord, and His treatment by the Jews, but also by the Body of Christ, those who bear the name Catholic, is quite obvious above.

We are told that one of the glories of the Novus Ordo is the degree to which the three year cycle of readings “opens up Scripture to the faithful.”  And this is purported to be a marvelous thing, even though, on the contrary, only hearing critically important bits of Scripture once every three  years, instead of perhaps several times EVERY year (if one assists at daily TLM), actually undermines some of the most significant revelations made.  However, and much more significantly, I have also noted that there are critically important portions of Scripture deliberately excluded from the Novus Ordo.  As in, they never make an appearance. One of the most notable is I Cor XI:27-30, wherein St. Paul inerrantly informs us that receiving the Body and Blood of the Lord unworthily is a hideous crime.  I have to wonder how much of II Thess II and Jeremiah XI appear in the Novus Ordo?  I have not checked, it’s a real pain to dig through and determine, but I do know there are many instances where these “challenging,” meaning, inconvenient, elements of Scripture and excluded from the Novus Ordo.  St. Paul’s exhortation to women to be subject to their husbands in Colossians and Ephesians is frequently kneecapped.

If they do appear, they are often heavily edited, and most certainly reserved for daily Mass, and not Sundays.

So, it appears as with all thing progressive, some Scripture is more equal than others.

Three long posts on a busy day!  I’m probably out, lest I find something easy squeezy in the next few minutes.

Just read today’s LifeSite News. Gay Pride WEEK in Boston. Sick, perverted twisted evil stuff going on there…. But when there’s a terrorist attack they all run to their Churches…. Why should He listen to them??????

There’s a guy at work (I know of him and we’re on polite terms, but we’re not friends nor do I work closely with him) who is ‘married’ to another man and is open about it at work (inviting others over his house for parties and discussing his weekend plans with this man). I am struggling with what, if anything, to say to him. He is on my heart and mind often as he is lost in this sin. I believe he is even a church-going ‘Christian’ of some kind, so he clearly would fall into that camp that somehow justifies sodomy despite what Scripture says.

Any advice from anyone? And prayers for me and for him would be appreciated. Thank you.

What kind of environment do you work in? Is it a large corporation? Do they have a formal policy on “sexual orientation?” If so, as much as I hate to, I would advise extreme caution, one complaint could get you sacked under such conditions.

If you have more flexibility, I do have some ideas. Let me know your situation first.

I looked through the hand book and didn’t see anything specifically about sexual orientation except under the section dealing with harassment. I’m not sure how this guy would react. We do have something of a history on a somewhat unrelated note: about a year ago, I ran into him at a restaurant (turns out we live in the same town) and he was telling me about some ‘charity’ thing he was helping out with, and the brochure he gave me indicated that Planned Parenthood had some involvement. Seems like they were a sponsor of some kind. So I said basically that they’re no good and that I’m not interested in any involvement with them because of what they do. Things were civil and I think he understood what I meant, though I don’t know what he knows of my beliefs otherwise.

I’m thinking lots of prayers and see if the Holy Spirit provides an opening from HIM to discuss it. Tantum is right, you could lose your job quickly if he feels any sort of threat from you, or any “discrimination.” Prayers for you.
