Shock! Numerous USCCB employees support sodo-agenda! June 3, 2016

I know, you’re stunned.  Workers at a government funded NGO being left wing and/or supporting immoral activities?  Whoddathunkit?!?

Lepanto Institute reports, finding several individuals  supporting “gay pride” and other anti-Catholic beliefs, even while they hold positions of influence within Catholic organizations.  You can read the article there, because I’m not real big on “outing” private individuals whose only public stand comes from a Facebook page, but I will excerpt some from this article about Tony Spence, head of the USCCB’s news agency (Catholic News Service (CNS)), who has repeatedly supported very strident aspects of the perverse agenda IN HIS ROLE AS HEAD OF CNS:

The Director and Editor in Chief of the Catholic News Service, which is the official news and information service of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, has issued public statements decrying proposed legislation in several states that would protect religious freedom and deny men pretending to be women the “right” to enter women’s bathrooms.

Tony Spence has been thehead of the Catholic News Service since 2004.  Over the last few weeks, Spence has been publishing statements on his own twitter feed, identifying him as the head of CNS, speaking out against legislative efforts to protect the religious freedoms of individuals, businesses and churches.

On 24 March 2016, Spence claimed that “LGBT protections get flushed as NC governor signs bill over #bathroomwars.”…..

…….More recently, on 7 April 2016, Spence issued a statement calling the measures to protect the religious liberty of individuals and businesses “stupid.”

In his twitter statement, Spence included Missouri in the list of “stupid” “pro-discrimination laws.”  According to the article linked to by Spence in this statement:

“Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant on Tuesday signed a far-reaching law allowing people with religious objections to deny wedding services to same-sex couples and protecting other actions considered discriminatory by gay rights activists.”

Clearly, the head of the Catholic News Service has an agenda that is in direct conflict with the teachings of the Catholic Church……

…….On 10 March, Spence stated that the shift in GOP strategy to move away from fighting against Same-Sex, so-called “marriage” to defending religious liberties “fooled no one.”

I know, you’re as shocked as I am to learn that a pro-sodomite agenda individual is working at the behest of the US bishops in a highly public and influential role.  Why, it’s almost as if the bishop’s feigned adherence to Catholic Doctrine is basically meaningless, to be shed at the first convenient moment.

So long as the wind keeps blowing in that direction, that is.  I’d like to say it’s always been this way, but even by the relatively low historic standards of orthodoxy in the Catholic episcopate, today’s bishops stand out rather uniquely for cowardice and moral enervation.

Believe it or not, this post, and the previous one, are actually quite closely related.  And the wheel in the sky keeps on turning……..

I think it would be more important to ask how many bishops support the LGBT agenda. It wouldn’t surprise me if the majority of American ones do. For one thing, Pope Francis hasn’t exactly been outspoken against it, and we know the bishops are nothing if not good careerists. For another, the Catholic hierarchy in the developed world is infatuated with intellectual fashion.

Then there’s the zoo in the room: the bishops’ own sexual proclivities, to put it diplomatically.

OMG .. May these idiots be corrected soon. I am not suprised after reading Ezekiel 33:10-16 in my New American Bible, St Joseph Edition then comparing it to the USCCB’s version of Ezekiel 33:10-16 erases gender pronouns and virtue is replaced by ambiguous words, some sections are completely rel-worked. I was more angry than shocked, after reading those two vastly different Catholic Scriptural Readings. USCCB has no qualms with changing Catholic Scripture that is read at every weekday and weekend Mass in the USA … from Scriptures that have NOT EVEN BEEN APPROVED OF OFFICIALLY.

Get you a Duay Rheims bible. I read the scripture on Magnificant and then I go to my Duay Rheims to read what was really said. It makes me angry how they have changed the wording.

Yep, I yawned when I saw it on Lifesite News…. It is all getting so very tiring.
Which, btw, is precisely the goal of the Alinskyites…

This is, I think, how it works. CNS is funded by the USCCB. The USCCB is funded at least partially by mandatory funding assessed to each US diocese. By way of example, in the Dallas diocese the annual appeal if it falls short of budgetary forecasts causes an assessment to the parishes to make up the difference. Regardless of whether this is sufficiently accurate, my point is, we ultimately pay for all of this nonsense. Writing “PARISH ONLY” on your parish donation check’s memo line is futile.

A parishioner told a friend of mine to give to the building fund of the church. The diocese is supposed not to be able to get a part of that.

Lepanto in 2016; Cardinal Burke & Catholic Media Exchange in 2009: Maybe y’all will revisit again in 2025: “By January 2009, CNS’ failure to consistently apply reliably Catholic editorial standards had become so problematic that Archbishop Raymond Burke, Prefect of the Apostolic Signatura at the Vatican, was moved to take the extraordinarily bold step of criticizing CNS from Rome.

“The bishops need to look at our Catholic News Service; they need to review their coverage of [the Church’s moral and social teachings] and give some new direction,” he said.

The problems at CNS, which has been under the directorship of Editor-in-Chief Tony Spence since 2004, are well illustrated by considering the case of Pepperdine law professor Douglas Kmiec.

In the months leading up to the recent U.S. Presidential election, Kmiec — a Catholic — not only campaigned for Barack Obama, he became the self-appointed spokesperson for moral relativists everywhere by publically insisting that Obama’s pro-abortion agenda fits comfortably within authentic Catholic social doctrine.”
