I remember back in college, having the pathetic choice of only 30 or 40 basic cable channels to choose from, being annoyed that it seemed like Bill Nye The Science Guy show was on about 4 different channels at least 8 hours a day.  I couldn’t surf through the lineup without seeing him at least twice, it seemed, just about any time of day.

I never found his program compelling, as it was full of that same smug condescension that leftists always resort to when talking to children.  Not only that, but its self-importance was over the top.

And yet from that program, an entire generation of kids, broadly speaking, is apparently convinced that Bill Nye – whose educational credentials (BSME) certainly do not exceed my own, and I have decades experience actually designing and fabricating highest-tech products in my bag – is one of the world’s great experts in not just one particular field of science, but all scientific disciplines generally.  But Nye has never been satisfied to limit himself to being the Newton of our age in every scientific discipline.  He has always been very glad to mix his increasingly leftist politics in with his purported scientific laws (until the science becomes inconvenient to the leftism, then the science gets jettisoned).

So now he has a new show on Netflix (with the incredibly humble name Bill Nye Saves the World), ostensibly for kids (kids with an extensive porn habit, apparently, judging by the material he produces), but which is really little more than a vehicle for Bill Nye – world’s greatest genius guy! – to engage in half hour disjointed political rants.  That is, when he’s not pushing wanton immorality and gross perversion on his supposed target audience.

But Nye’s favorite leftist hobby horse to ride has always been global cooling I mean global warming I mean climate change (whew! – we’re covered!).  In this area he is simply another reliable climate cultist with few original thoughts.

Now Bill Whittle knows a thing or two about science. He has had a long association with the aerospace industry and also has worked in a lab for over 20  years, over a decade longer than Nye’s brief career at Boeing. And he utterly obliterates Nye in this great video, Bill Nye the Science Lie.  Not only does he obliterate the Left’s climate change cult (once again), but he also punctures the preening arrogance of the so-called “rational set” on the left, who hold themselves so far above those stupid superstitious conservative Bible-humpers (interesting, then, that liberals are far, far more likely to believe in things like Bigfoot, space aliens, power crystals, astrology, etc):

Now that is a thorough and complete takedown.  Always helps to get the rest of the story the Left and their PR department (the media) don’t want to share.

Swedish Report Confirms 3/4 of so-called Islamic Child Migrants Are Adults – Also Overwhelmingly Male May 31, 2017

As Sargon notes, who knew there were so many racists in Sweden?  After all, we’ve been told that to do even a basic sociological study on the mass muslim invasion of Europe by military-age men constitutes racism, so apparently decades of socialist enervation and white liberal self-loathing have not quite driven the racism from the damnable Swedes (I can say that, being part Norwegian). Uff da.

Seriously, this only confirms what anyone with a brain, that is, anyone not consumed by cultural marxist dogma, has long known: the “child refugee crisis” in Europe is nothing of the sort.  They aren’t children, they aren’t refugees, and the crisis has been created by the political/economic elites in Europe (and, with a different immigrant population, in the US).  This is an invasion of military-age males from the muslim ummah into Europe primarily seeking economic and social benefits:

If the “18 females and 563 males” are representative of the overall muslim invasion population – and since this was a formal sociological studies we have no reason to think they are not – 97% of the so-called “child migrants” are actually adult muslim males, almost universally of military age.

Also note that when the muslims find things in Europe not to their liking, such as finding Finland too cold and the food too bland, they LEAVE!  These are not thus people desperately fleeing a war zone, they are economic migrants looking to take some long, slow pulls on the Euro-welfare teat.

The video also notes that at least 2/3 of so-called “child migrants” in Britain are also adults.  And also overwhelmingly male.

More on the whole Euro-migrant scam.  These migrants transit just a few miles off the coast of Libya where they have – it appears – pre-arranged pick-up points with leftist NGO ships or leftist-Euro-government navy ships.

The entire thing is a scam from beginning to end is entirely about turning Syracuse or Salerno into Beirut or Benghazi (I kid you not):

Just as leftists in the US are determined to remake the US body politic into something far more leftist-friendly through mass immigration, they are doing the same in Europe.  Will Europeans continue to allow this to happen? Will Americans?

Man I get so sick of the lies and false propaganda spewed forth by these self-anointed elites constantly.  It really has to do with classism, and apparently wealthy white graduate-degree-toting leftists hate the middle class so much they’re determined to make their lives hell throughout the West.

Novus Ordo Anointing of the Sick Not a Sacrament – Not “Equivalent” to Extreme Unction? May 31, 2017

A very interesting little bit of catechesis below from The Fatima Center.  The traditional Dominican priest who answers these questions (since Fr. Gruner’s demise, RIP), Father Albert, claims that not only is the modern, post-conciliar sacrament “Anointing of the Sick” deficient compared to the Sacrament of Extreme Unction in its practical application, the way “anointing of the sick” is done in most parishes is so bastardized in its minimalist reductio ad absurdam that it no longer even constitutes a Sacrament:

“There is an essential difference between “anointing of the sick” and the traditional Extreme Unction.” “Often, the anointing of the sick that is given in the Novus Ordo is not a sacrament at all.”

I was always gravely disturbed by the monthly “anointing of the sick” ceremonies that occurred in some local NO parishes.  Literally everyone lined up to receive an entirely perfunctory blessing, irrespective of their general health.  I mean 25 year old marathon runners were getting blessed.  There was no examination of conscience, no contrition expressed, only the most minimal of anointings, and, I long ago concluded, little grace conferred.  I have long wondered if such a truncated service could indeed be considered a Sacrament.  According to Father Albert, most of the time, it is not.

So, Extreme Unction, properly received, removes temporal debt due to sin.  It is a Sacrament ordered almost entirely towards aiding those in serious threat of death or with serious health problems in attaining Heaven at their particular judgment.  It is not a “sacrament of healing” as “anointing of the sick” is generally called now in the Novus Ordo world.  It was never a Sacrament intended to be received over and over again on a monthly basis in a totally perfunctory way.  And what is even more sad, is that I have seen the mentality of this bowdlerized group blessing translate into the hospital and sick bed, where only the most dilatory of blessings are conveyed on those who truly are gravely ill instead of the thorough preparation for death and blessing for the passage of the soul from the body which has traditionally been given in the Church.

As with so much in the Novus Ordo, and as Father Albert notes, the accidental aspect of the Sacrament has assumed the primacy, whereas its primary role has been reduced to distinctly secondary place.  In this case, the accidental healing qualities of Extreme Unction have become the focus in the “sacrament of healing”  – and note once again the humanistic nature of the change, with most all the focus on bodily healing in this life rather than the preparation of the soul for its real life, that is the next life, which shall be eternal.

I had long felt there were grave deficiencies with the anointing of the sick as it is practiced in most all Novus Ordo parishes but had never managed to put the concerns so precisely and succinctly.  Thanks to The Fatima Center for these helpful  catechetical videos.
