I am sorry I have not yet had the opportunity to watch either of the videos below in their totality.  In fact, I’ve only had a time to watch the first few moments of each.  But they reveal that what I hoped would come to fruition indeed has – that Father Rodriguez has found a vehicle in The Fatima Center to reach souls with his apostolate.  When I examine the internet as a totality (see yesterday’s post), I should keep in mind that it enables a persecuted, hounded priest like Father Michael Rodriguez to still reach souls, and that is not an inconsequential thing.  In reality, determining whether such a massive, disparate, confused, self-contradictory object as the internet is a good or bad thing in its totality is probably well beyond my very limited capabilities.

That aside, it seems Father might be making regular contributions to The Fatima Center’s Youtube channel.  I certainly hope so.

Father’s two sermons continue the theme he began in some previous ones, the role of the Blessed Virgin in the Lord’s plan of salvation and our own particular efforts at sanctification.  The first sermon focuses on the relationship between the Holy Ghost and the Blessed Virgin Mary.  God’s Grace is what makes us holy.  God has willed to share His Grace with us through Mary, who is the Mediatrix of all grace. Father quotes numerous popes and saints in attesting to Mary’s critical role in the diffusion of grace into souls, including St. Bernadine of Siena, Blessed Pope Pius IX, Pope Benedict XV, and St. Maximilian Kolbe, among others.

Devotion to Mary – and this is attested to by the great Moral Doctor St. Alphonsus, along with St. Louis de Montfort – is absolutely vital for salvation.  St. Alphonsus says it is morally impossible for a soul to be saved without a powerful devotion to Our Lady, and the deeper the devotion, the greater the likelihood, generally speaking, of salvation for an individual soul.

God wills our salvation through the diffusion of Grace in the Holy Ghost, and this God further wills that this sanctification through Grace take place in and through Our Blessed Mother.

That’s a pretty fair synopsis of the first video, anyway.

The second video is somewhat on a somewhat related topic, focusing more explicitly on Fatima and the Light of Christ.  Our Lady came to Fatima in 1917 to bring the Light of Christ to our times.

Father notes that the great crisis afflicting the Church – and numerous souls – is the lack of holiness, grace, and truth in the Church.  Instead of holiness, we are, like good Americanists, concerned with external works and creating pleasant communities.  Instead of supernatural grace, we are concerned with natural talents and efforts. In stead of cooperating with divine grace, we are concerned with individual liberty;  instead of growing =with grace, we are concerned with physical health and material comforts.  Instead of truth, we are concerned with political correctness. Instead of the one truth, we are concerned with promoting each person’s or group;’s beliefs equally, regardless of truth or error.  And instead of conforming our lives to the Truth, we are more concerned with deforming the Truth to correspond with the way we live.  We must consider holiness, grace, and truth as the light that comes from Jesus Christ.  This fallen world will never give us holiness, grace, and truth – only Jesus Christ, our Savior, Lord, and King can do so.

Notice how significant light is to the Fatima apparitions, and when you think of this light, recall that it is Christ’s holiness, grace, and truth.  If you believe in the Gospel, you must believe in Fatima.  The message of Fatima is the message of the Gospel.  Man has turned away from God, he must now turn back to God – nothing is more important.

To do this, we must do the five things God demands of us through Our Lady of Fatima:

  1. Pray the Holy Rosary daily – dedicate your Rosary to consoling Mary’s heart, and meditating on the Divine Mysteries
  2. Wear the brown scapular
  3. Be faithful in accomplishing one’s daily duty according to one’s state in life
  4. Make reparation – pray and sacrifice for the conversion of sinners
  5. The devotion of the Five First Saturdays, in reparation for wounds inflicted on the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Also pray the Raccolta prayers 386-393 (you can bet I’ll check those out as soon as I get home!). Father closes with three quotes from St. John Eudes and a personal prayer to Our Lady.

I’ll let that stand as a very brief synopsis.

This second sermon is especially powerful and if you only have time to watch/listen to one, focus on this second one.  Both are great, and both should be listened to, as they build on each other, but I understand how limited time is for many of us.

Finally, some photos have emerged of Father’s pilgrimage to Quito, Ecuador, and the great shrine of Our Lady of Good Success, in 2016 (2015?).  I was unaware, until I saw the photos, that the very good and holy priest of the Fraternity of St. Peter, Fr. Jonathan Romanowski, was also present during this pilgrimage. I only share a few photos, please go to the link to see the rest.  There are some truly beautiful photos of the basilica of Our Lady of Good Success and other gorgeous churches.  What perfect venues for the offering of the Mass of the Ages, even with the sad, protestant-inspired post-conciliar wreckovations, which, thankfully, have been comparatively minimal in these sacred buildings.

Also inspiring is the attestation of the large crowds that assisted at these Masses.  These were probably  the first TLMs the hundreds of locals present had seen ever seen – and what a great work of spiritual mercy that is in itself.  There were only a score or so that accompanied Father on the pilgrimage, so it is a hopeful sight to see many others avail themselves of the Mass of St. Pius V – who knows what great fruit may result.

Planned Butcherhood Comes Out with Uterus Emoji August 23, 2017

I’m so old I remember when they were called “emoticons.”  You know, the little cartoon characters people use to express sentiments they don’t bother to put into words.  Many years ago, a commenter opined that real men would never use an emoji. Chastened, I have abstained ever since.

At any rate, some pro-abort has come up with an app for an “Ooti,” a pink, vaguely uterus shaped emoji IPhone users can download for a mere $2, with all proceeds going to help keep government leech Planned Barrenhood afloat:

Invented for the iPhone, the new “Ooti the uterus” emoji app can be installed for $1.99 and comes with an assortment of smiley expressions and personas. All proceeds go to Planned Parenthood.

So just who is “Ooti the uterus”? Her website says the following:

Ooti is an expressive uterus in shades of millennial pink. You can catch Ooti drinking cold brew, wasting time on the phone, and of course, swiping……

…Ooti’s here so we can celebrate this amazing reproductive organ [which abortion, in more than a few cases, so damages as to render infertile – what a way to celebrate God’s gift of creating life!] as well as support the fantastic health services Planned Parenthood provides. [Uh huh.  Like non-existent mammograms.]

All proceeds from Ooti will be donated to Planned Parenthood so they can continue offering accessible care to those who need it………[It’s just nothing but lies from the sexular pagan Left, isn’t it?  “Affordable care,” if by care you mean murder, and by affordable, you mean taxpayer subsidized]

………..Ooti apparently got her name from “a working nickname that was being used as a shorted version of ‘uterus’: utie,”

“Unfortunately, the nickname sounded too similar to another familiar friend to women — UTIs,” says the website, explaining their decision to settle on “Ooti.” [Yes, UTIs, or urinary tract infections, which some forms of contraception can help cause, and which are also related to the modern libidinous lifestyle of far too many young women, who are literally ruining their future ability to have stable married relationships, in addition to their general mental health, through their mass embrace of promiscuity]

As noted by LifeSiteNews, Planned Parenthood “commits over 300,000 abortions annually, or more than 30 percent of all abortions in America, but performs less than two percent of cancer screenings.”

Go figure.  Put it bluntly, sans abortion, Planned Barrenhood has no reason to exist.  None.  Contraception is more available than cotton candy. Their raison d’etre is the murder of innocent children.  All the rest, especially the garbage about “accessible care,” is just a smokescreen.

Another Reason Why I Will Never Again Be a Knight of Columbus August 23, 2017

I know I have a goodly number of readers who belong to the Knights of Columbus, as I used to.  I left the organization years ago over its persecution of members who demanded the organization live up to its founding ideal, and ban membership from public heretics and others not living a “practical Catholic life.”  I can understand why some men want to belong to the KoC, warts and all.

But the organization under Supreme Knight Carl Andersen continues to make highly perplexing decisions.  One is the recently announced change to the 4th degree uniforms.  Whatever one thinks of the old ones, the new ones are decidedly lacking in presence.  It’s a suit coat with a patch and a goofy looking beret, instead of the classic tux and sash look.  Apparently this decision has been met with a great deal of controversy.

More telling, however, was the decision by the KoC to spend millions of dollars bolstering a decidedly left-wing pseudo-Catholic organization in the publication Crux – more or less a vanity vehicle for John Allen and an attempt by deranged Boston Globe management to cash in on what they thought would be the raging popularity of Francis, Bishop of Rome.  Crux has lately been on the attack against those horrid converts to Catholicism, who should really just be constantly on their knees thanking God for permitting us in the Church and just keep our mouths shut and let the left-liberal cradle Catholics do all the talking, thinking, and running of the Church*.

In a particularly ugly bit of spleen-venting, Francis-supporter and super-liberal Austin Invereigh inveighed against a number of Catholic converts by name, including Edwin Pentin and Ross Douthat, accusing them of being possessed of a neurosis.  This was followed up by a half-hearted apology and then a doubling down, repeating the attack in a third piece.  The KoC has, to date, not issued an apology or demanded a retraction, even though they are now part-owners of Crux.  Via Rorate:

The Knights of Columbus made a clear choice when the organization decided to sponsor the faltering “Crux” — founded by the Boston Globe for liberal journalist John Allen Jr (when the Globe thought it could cash in on Francis’ supposed “popularity”) and then, when it came into trouble, propped up by the Knights.
The Knights’ choice was to uphold the liberal and Modernist version of Catholicism in reporting news.
For a few weeks now, Knights-Crux has been on a crusade to crush the credibility of converts to Catholicism. This because the Modernist establishment currently in charge of much of the central government of the Church hates American Catholicism, hates conservative Catholics in the United States, hates the Traditional-friendly general trends of the strongest portions of English-speaking Catholicism, and hates, therefore, informed converts who are so influential in those circles.
The first shot was an article by Austin Ivereigh on “Pope Francis and the convert problem“. Yes, it’s a “problem”, apparently, and as such it will demand a “solution”. The controversy generated by the article was so great that Knights-Crux editor Allen Jr. had to intervene. This “intervention” was just for show, because a few days later, Knights-Crux publishes a new attack on converts, by convert David Mills with the shocking title “Newcomers to the Church should speak less, listen more“.
Why do the Knights of Columbus wish to silence, shame, and persecute Converts? Why do they support this campaign of discrimination of converts in the Church? The leadership of the Knights of Columbus must speak up clearly, or the Crux crusade against converts will remain for all purposes the public and editorial policy of the Knights.

I’m sorry, but there is no benefit the Knights provide that outweighs their coziness with those destroying the (human element of) Church from within.  There is no benefit to me or my family from being associated with this organization, which, whatever its founding purpose and original intent, has gone far astray, and is more concerned with receiving the continued approbation of the great powers in the Church (and, it seems, the culture) than really aiding the workaday lives of individual poor Catholics, which was Fr. Michael McGiveney’s intent.  In truth, the restoration of the Faith is what those poor Catholics – what all Catholics – need most, not politicking and engaging in dubious investments.

I know not all readers agree, and that’s their prerogative.  Please don’t take this post as an attack on you.  Perhaps traditional Catholic men should consider starting their own alternative to the Knights?  That might be a hot one for the parish council meeting, if your parish has such things.

*- They are not entirely wrong on this. I should be ever more thankful to God for making me a part of His Church.  But the reasons why the Crux crowd are on this crusade against conflicts has everything to do with sexular leftist politics/ideology (what one might call the leftists true religion), instead of any concern for converts’ souls.
