Thinking about Francis and the Rome Plow he is taking through the Church can quickly get depressing. Plus, it’s always good to be encouraged. I find few Saints more encouraging than St. Catherine of Siena. The following quotes are rather random, but they all contain great spiritual direction and solid catechesis. I pray you enjoy!
Quote 1:
O Charity, you are the sweet, holy bond uniting the soul to its Creator; you unite God to man and man to God. you kept the Son of God nailed to the wood of the Holy Cross. You unite those whom discord keeps apart. You enrich with virtue those who are poor, because you give life to all the virtues. You bring peace and suppress hatred and war. You give patience, strength, and perseverance in return for every good and holy work. You are never weary, you never turn aside from the love of God and neighbor, either because of weariness, pain, contempt, or insult.
O Christ, sweet Jesus, give me this holy charity, that I may persevere in doing good and never give it up; for he who possesses charity is founded on You, the living rock, and by following Your example, he learns from You how to love his neighbor. In You, O Christ, I read the rule and doctrine which are right for me, for You are the way, the truth, and the life. If I read You, I shall follow the right path and shall occupy myself solely with the honor of God and the salvation of souls.
Quote 2:
I give You thanks, O eternal Father, because You have not despised Your creature, nor turned away Your face from me, nor ignored my desires. You, who are light, did not despise my darkness; You, who are life, did not go far away from me who am death; nor did You, the physician, fail to heal my wounds.……Your wisdom, mercy, and infinite goodness have not looked with scorn at all these and the infinite number of other evils and faults that are in me. What forced You to love me and to grant me so many graces? It was not my virtues but only Your charity. May I always keep Your favors in mind, and may my will burn with the fire of Your charity.
O inestimable Love, how admirable are the things You have done in Your creature! O my wretched, blind soul, where is your cry of gratitude, where are the tears you should shed in the sight of your God who is unceasingly calling to you? Where are all my yearning desires in the sight of divine mercy? They are not in me because I have not yet lost myself, for if I were lost and had sought only You, my God, only the glory and the praise of Your Name, my heart would have thrilled in a hymn of gratitude.
Thanks be to You, o eternal, most high Trinity! I am she who is not and You are He who is. Glorify Yourself by enabling me to praise You. Pardon me, O Father, pardon me who am miserable, and ungrateful to You for the immense benefits I have received. I confess that Your goodness has preserved me, Your spouse, although because of my many defects I have often been unfaithful to You.
Quote 3:
O God, You have seen the weakness of our human nature; You know how weak, frail, and miserable it is; therefore, You, the sovereign Provider, Who in all things have provided for all the needs of Your creatures, You, the perfect repairer, who have given a remedy for all our ills, You gave us the rock and fortitude of will to strengthen the weakness of our flesh. This will is so strong that no demon or creature can conquer it if we do not will it, that is, if our free will, which is in our own hands, does not consent.
O infinite Goodness, where does such great strength in Your creature’s will come from? From You, sovereign, eternal Strength, because it shares in the strength of Your will. Hence, we can see that our will is strong to the degree in which it follows Yours, and weak to the degree in which it deviates from Yours because You created our will to the likeness of Your Will, and therefore being in Yours, it is strong.
In our will, O eternal Father, You show the fortitude of Your Will; if You have given so much fortitude to a little member, what should we think Yours to be, O Creator and Ruler of all things?
It seems to me that this free will which You have given us is fortified by the light of faith, for in this light it knows Your will, which wishes nothing but our sanctification. Then our will, fortified and nourished by our holy Faith, gives life to our actions, which explains why neither good will nor lively faith can exist without works. Faith nourishes and maintains the fire of charity, because it reveals to our soul Your love and charity to us, and thus makes it strong in loving You.
Quote 4, especially important in light of Francis and all the travails afflicting the Church and pious souls:
O eternal God, grant me the virtue of perseverance; without it, no one can please You nor be acceptable to You. This virtue brings to the soul an abundance of charity and the fruit of every effort. Oh! how happy I should be, Lord, if You would give me this virtue, because even here on earth it will make me enjoy a pledge of eternal life. But Your light reveals to me that I cannot attain it unless I suffer much, because this life cannot be lived without suffering. he who would escape suffering woulf deprive himself of holy perseverance.
Finally, a bonus from St. Bernard:
No one is so presumptuous that he thinks his justice or holiness is enough to assure his salvation [Unless he is a protestant, or Francis but I repeat]. For this reason I hasten to You, O Jesus: Your Passion is my supreme refuge and sole remedy! It comes to help us when our wisdom fails, when our justice is weak, and the merits of our holiness are useless. When my strength grows weak, I shall not be discouraged. I know what I must do: “I shall take the chalice of salvation and call upon the name of the Lord.” Open by eyes, O God, that I may always know what is pleasing to You and then I shall be wise. Pardon the faults of my youth and ignorance, and I shall be just. Lead me, O God, on Your path, and I shall be holy. But if Your Blood does not intercede for me, I shall not be saved.

That’s it!
Francis Finally Responds to the Dubia – With an Upturned Middle Finger September 20, 2017

Gonna shoot this out now, hope to post more later, but this analysis from LifeSiteNews makes clear that Francis’ overthrowing of the JPII Institute on the Family and Married Life (announced today), to be replaced with an institute dedicated to the debauchery of Amoris Laetitia, does in fact constitute his response to the Dubia presented by 4 Cardinals on this day exactly a year ago.
What a spiteful, petty little man.
UPDATE: Finishing up the post. I’ll excerpt the LifeSite commentary and add a few thoughts of my own:
One year ago to this day, four Cardinals submitted five yes-or-no questions to Pope Francis asking him if his 2016 exhortation on marriage and the family — Amoris Laetitia — conforms to perennial Catholic teaching on marriage, moral absolutes, conscience, and the sacraments.
The Pope has refused to answer their questions, despite the moral and pastoral chaos that ensued throughout the whole of Christendom as priests, bishops, and cardinals interpreted his teachings in completely contradictory ways. Some allowed civilly-divorced-and-remarried Catholics living in habitual adultery to receive Holy Communion. Some did not. [As a commenter noted to the first, short version of this post, yes, Francis has answered it, by refusing to answer it. He has treated these extremely important questions as beneath contempt, not even deserving a response, while he has directed certain episcopal conferences to implement the most progressive, novel, frankly heretical interpretation of Amoris Laetitia as being his real intent. So, yes, he has answered it before, and now he answers the Dubia again, with a great big FU to the four cardinals and faithful Catholics everywhere.]
Today, on the first anniversary of the dubia, has the Pope finally given his answer? It would seem so, though certainly not directly…….
………While the body of Cardinal Carlo Caffarra, one of the four dubia signers, has hardly been in the ground more than a week, the pope today announced he is abolishing the John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and the Family and replacing it with a new institute focused on implementing Amoris Laetitia. [Francis loves to communicate by snub and symbolism. I did not know Caffara was the founding director of the JPII Institute. What a shot. There was some conspiracy theorizing about the rapid demise of two of the four cardinals in the wake of the Dubia, but even with that aside, for Francis to make this move both on the anniversary of the Dubia, and within two weeks of Caffara’s death…..what a jerk.]
Cardinal Caffarra was the founding president of the institute, overseeing it from its launch in 1981 until 1995. The institute was founded to be a center for scientific study in the fields of anthropology and Christocentric thought so as to address the crisis of marriage and the family within the Church.
The institute has been faithful to perennial Catholic teaching. It even produced an excellent book titled Marriage: Theological and Pastoral Considerations in the lead-up to the recent Synods on the Family that faithfully and clearly put forward Catholic teaching on marriage and the sacraments. [The Institute has, by and large, been faithful, at least to the post-conciliar JPII conservativish vision of marriage and the family, but it has also been ineffective at arresting the decline of Catholic morals or at strengthening the Catholic family. Actually, that might be unfair, had the Paul VI-Francis vision of seeking men’s approval in moral matters rather than upholding the Law of God been followed straight through from ’78 to now – without the 35 year interregnum provided by JPII and Benedict – things could be even worse than they are now. So perhaps it did good, but good that was more negative, in preventing worse outcomes, than in encouraging real positive outcomes with regard to families]
………..Caffarra has not been dead two weeks and Pope Francis has already issued a Motu Proprio (by his own command) that destroys the John Paul II Institute’s DNA and replaces it with a DNA foreign to the institute’s original aim. That foreign DNA can be precisely summed up in the dubia submitted to the Pope by Caffarra and the other three Cardinals. [Meaning, it attacks and undermines the entire moral edifice of the Church, for by declaring divorce no impediment to the Blessed Sacrament, basically every sin imaginable can now be allowed (unless it offends against leftist orthodoxy, which will entail a whole slew of matters becoming “sinful” which never have been and cannot be) AND, by attacking the sanctity of the Blessed Sacrament and requirements for reception thereof, the entire moral Doctrine of the Faith. It’s a particularly invidious avenue for attack that’s been chosen, one designed to induce maximum damage to the Church and souls, and to wreak widespread havoc.]
What I find especially disturbing in this matter is that the Pope has gutted the institute while essentially keeping the institute’s name the same. All I could think of was George Orwell’s novel 1984 in which institutes are set up with beautiful-sounding names like the ‘Ministry of Truth,’ but which are actually agents of the ever-changing politically correct propaganda of the day.
Pope Francis, in his Motu Proprio, says the newly reformed “John Paul II Pontifical Theological Institute for Marriage and Family Sciences” will be used as a platform to implement his teachings in Amoris Laetitia.
He says that contemporary anthropological and cultural changes require “a diversified and analytical approach” which cannot be “limited to pastoral and missionary practices” of the past.
In other words, what I suspect he is saying is that previous Catholic teaching on marriage and family as understood and taught by John Paul II, Cardinal Caffarra, and the institute they founded is no longer ‘helpful’ in addressing today’s situation of contraception, divorce, adultery, homosexuality, abortion, etc. What is needed, instead, is a new pastoral approach as outlined in Francis’ teaching that doesn’t see moral choices in terms of ‘black and white,’ but as an occasion for a ‘discernment’ where one can understand that while a particular choice may not be the ‘objective ideal,’ it is nevertheless, what ‘God is asking.’ [And thus will souls fall into hell in their millions, if not billions. THAT is the ultimate tragedy in all this, not that my particular understanding of the Catholic Faith is being offended against, not the incalculable damage that will occur to society/the culture as a whole as a result, but the fact that, due to encouragement from the highest authority in the Church to sin, blaspheme, and commit the gravest sacrilege, so many souls will be lost, who might not have been otherwise. Because God writes an understanding of the moral law on all men’s hearts, and especially those who have received the Sacraments in the Church, those who accept these errors will still be morally culpable for their acts, no matter how much encouragement Francis and his diabolical entourage give them. That culpability might be somewhat diminished through this encouragement, but whether it is enough to save their souls, God alone knows, but the evidence from the Saints and Fathers says that is a very thin rope to hang one’s hopes on]
Is it simply a coincidence that Pope Francis abolished the former John Paul II Institute exactly one year on the date that the four Cardinals presented him the dubia? Is it possible that with his dramatic relaunch of the institute specifically to push Amoris Laetitia he is giving the remaining two dubia Cardinals in a not-so-subtle way his answer to the dubia? [No and Yes. And he’s doing so in his typical passive-aggressive way.]
————–End Quote————-
Francis is a bully. Like all bullies, he is a coward at heart. What he needs is massive opposition, the more direct and, frankly, confrontational, the better.
The Dubia has been answered. Will the remaining two cardinals have the wherewithal to take the next, required step? Will the faithful start stepping up their opposition? Will more traditional priests, start calling a spade a spade and calling this pontificate out for what it is, an unprecedented assault on faith, morals, the good of souls, and even God Himself?
I guess we shall see. For those maintaining hopes that Francis will abdicate as Benedict XVI was compelled to do, you may as well put that hope away. It’ll never happen.
Next Target for the Sexular Pagans: Your Minor Children September 20, 2017

I think anyone with a brain who was paying attention these past 10 years or so could tell that the ultimate sexual target of the sexular pagan left was children. This religious cult is fully predicated on the rejection of any exterior moral (i.e., God’s) Law, and on the exaltation of man’s ability to transgress any (sexual) boundary they see fit (while imposing incredibly onerous boundaries on anything not related to sex n drugs and rock n roll). The ultimate violation of innocence and purity is the sexual corruption (or ruination) of children. Such damaged souls will, barring a miracle of Grace, be always perverse in their thinking and in their inclinations, and thus a rich vein for the sexular pagan left to mine.
Witness the push to normalize and justify child rape in just the past few months:
Are sexular pagan “elites” themselves interested in sexually abusing children? I would say, if they are not now, many will be in short order. People addicted to pornography often have to go to more and more extreme material to find their next thrill. How many writers of the puff pieces above have viewed and abused themselves to child pornography is impossible for all but the NSA to know, but the groundwork is already laid both in the pedophiles themselves, and in their political/cultural allies, for them to rapidly transgress into this (entirely righteous and absolutely necessary) taboo – since statistics show that most American adults are at present addicted to pornography, and leftists more than any other group.
And, we have seen what cultural exaltation of sodomy and other perversions has done to the younger generations growing up – their rates of same-sex experimentation, transgenderism, and other kinks is exponentially higher than preceding generations. Things have come to the point now where there is often positive pressure on kids to sexually experiment with those of the same sex in order to avoid the reputation-killing label of homophobe.
So, it seems we can now expect a full-on push for normalization of the adult sex abuse of children. If God doesn’t rain hellfire down on us at that point, I don’t know when He will. BTW, have you seen the hideous videos of single-digit age kids being exposed by their parents to topics like self-abuse, toy play, STDs, and the like? I don’t recommend you watch them, they are skin-crawling and vomit-inducing.
Once the legalization of child rape is achieved, will all the boy-raping priests be hailed as victims and ahead of their time?
