A quick and dirty (I mean, his language is atrocious) but quite helpful synopsis from Paul Joseph Watson:

If you want to figure out what evils, what dirty tricks, what law-breaking the DNC and the Left generally are most involved in, most committed to, and which they feel is both one of their most powerful tools of malfeasance as well as one of the greatest dangers to their position of power, just look at what they accuse the other side of.

And it’s not just this fake (and frankly stupid, and disgusting) dossier contrived by a deep state apparatchik – it’s also things like the Harvey Weinstein scandal and the emerging masses of reports indicating that many leftist men, who constantly reproach normal men for their “toxic masculinity” and hateful, antiquated views towards women, are, in fact, serial rapists and abusers of women themselves.  Sargon apparently has a massive expose coming on this subject this weekend.

The three, invariable rules: leftists always lie, leftists always project, leftists always double down.

Now that the “Russian collusion” meme has been shown to be a massive conspiracy and illegality engaged in by the DNC, Hillary campaign, Deep State apparatchiks, and their media leftist running dog lackeys, it is suddenly to be flushed down the memory hole.

But in future, always remember, the very accusations themselves are a total giveaway of the evils the Left is wholly immersed in.

I felt this “Trump pee-party dossier” thing was a massive redirect and information op from the beginning.  And indeed, that’s finally, painfully slowly, what has been revealed.

How deep this goes is anyone’s guess.  It is already known the Obama administration, through its wholly corrupt and politicized Eric Holder/Loretta Lynch InJustice Department, is knee deep in this scandal.  How far up the chain of command involvement goes is easy to guess by how furiously the Dems are trying to prevent further investigation of not only Fusion GPS, but also the very strange scandal of Debbie Wasserman-Schultz’ muslim former IT admin, who happened to abscond with several terabytes of classified data from now totally wiped computer hard drives.  The dems have been using all their power to keep that data from being subpoenaed………why?  What will it show?  Will it show, for instance, Obama’s direct involvement in the 2016 presidential election and deep corruption/collusion with the Russian government?

Why did the democrat establishment react like spurned lovers when Russia became involved in Ukraine in 2014?  We heard more bellicose war talk, even up to and including a full-on invasion/nuclear exchange, from leading democrats after Russia illegally invaded and continues to occupy large parts of the Ukraine.  Democrats normally wouldn’t give two blanks about something like that, but they totally lost their minds.  Is it because they felt like Putin had backstabbed them on a massive quid pro quo involving billions of dollars in kickbacks and massive undermining of US national security, a la the “Uranium One” deal?

These guys are in a full on blind panic.  They went all-in, well past the point of Watergate and into commission of probably hundreds of felonious offenses, to insure Hillary’s election.  Is that not just because they wanted their side to win, but because they knew if someone outside the Deep State apparatchiks was elected, it might blow the lid off their decade-plus run of unbelievable corruption, treason, and wholesale lack of care for the good of the United States and, much more importantly, the ordinary run of the mill citizen?

I don’t think we have any idea how deep this goes, or just what was sold or compromised, but the Left will inevitably tells us (some) as they try another redirect against Trump and conservatives generally.

And it’s not just Obama.  This Deep State/Leftist penetration of power and solidification began under Clinton, became entrenched under the (laughably inept and tone deaf) Bush 43 (thanks for giving your stalwart supporters a great big middle finger the other day, we sure appreciate it!  Guess we know where your loyalties lie.  Skull n Bones take care of their own, no?), and reached apotheosis under Obama.  I don’t know whether it is even possible at this point to deconstruct it.

Back to the rampant sexual abuse on the Left, up to and including massive pedophilia rings in their centers of power (just HOW many times did Clinton dump the Secret Service and fly to pedophile island?), Corey Feldman threatened to start naming names in Hollywood, and all of a sudden he gets slapped with a marijuana possession charge.  In CALIFORNIA?!?

The scandals are coming so thick and fast they are overwhelming, as, indeed, they are intended to be.  Scandals 10 times the importance and scope of Watergate pass by almost daily now, with the bought-n-paid for corporate/Deep State media telling us “nothing to see here.”  Or simply refusing to cover this at all.

But none of this should be surprising.  The fact that presidents of the United States colluded with global adversaries, repeatedly sold out the American people, and placed national security at grave risk in order to feather their nests to the tune of hundreds of millions if not billions of dollars, is exactly what one would expect from a cohort of people who have made their rejection of God and His Law, their very public despising of the Church and everything it stands for, the core part of their message and their very being.

This is what comes from an “elite” that rejects God and Our Savior Jesus Christ.  Pagan societies always devolve into endless self-aggrandizement, corruption, and wholesale ineffectiveness/incompetence.  People devoid of any sense of a law greater than themselves feel zero compunction over robbing citizens blind, colluding with deadly enemies, raping little children and forever destroying their sacred innocence, or the wholesale slaughter of very nearly 1 in 3 babies conceived in this nation over the past 44 years.  Indeed, the last point is the most telling – abortion has brought a curse down upon America, and, most particularly, on those “elites” who have done the most to keep it legal and the blood sacrifices to satan flowing.

Surely the apparatchiks, after reading the last two paragraphs, just an unhinged screed!, would conclude that I am an extremist, I am totally whacked and just totally unworthy of any credit.

But that, again, is the point.  The elites subscribe to an inveterately hostile, alien religion, which I call sexular paganism.  It is simply the latest manifestation of the false religion of leftist secular humanism which tries to put man in the place of God.  Christianity and sexular paganism are completely irreconcilable. Adherents to one cannot be adherents of the other.  One must choose between God and Mammon.

Incredibly, historically, philosophically, theologically, and historically speaking, the Church has played a huge role in the ascendance of sexular paganism among the cultural elites. By surrendering all the firm dictates and sublime, impervious moral and theological aspects of the “bad old faith” (e.g., “razing the bastions”), Church leadership not only left the Church open to further penetration by the forces of sexular paganism, but gave many wavering souls both perfect cover, and the perfect excuse, to make the final, irrevocable choice between God and Mammon.  By utterly neutering the Church’s unique power and voice, that leadership – some of which consisted of double agents of Mammon, but much of which were simply men to weak to resist – the choice of God or Mammon was made elementary, obvious for millions of lost souls, especially those with great ambitions and access to all the “delights” of power, money, and renown the world can offer.

It was a slam dunk.  So, the wind has been sown, and we are now reaping the whirlwind.  I wish I could posit a happy outcome for all this, but all I can foresee is ever increasing calamity, chaos, and confusion culminating in collapse (and that awesome alliteration alone is worth the price of the post).  Trump is great as a hopeful sign, but I fear the process has gone on much too long, and the rot is far too deep, for any man, or any series of men, to correct.  Lord, that I may be wrong, because I have a lot of love left for this country, or what it used to be, and my children and (pray God) grandchildren shall have to live here.

Now, if you want a more hopeful view, from a man deep in the fight, see the great talk given by Steve Bannon to the California GOP (yes, amazingly, it apparently still exists) below (h/t MFG):

He explains the problem, but gives many reasons to stay in the fight, and to hold out hope for a restoration of this country along constitutional lines.  I’m not overly sanguine on the likelihood of his effort being successful, but perhaps he gives some reasons to hope.

There, I’ve been out all week but now I give you a nice, long, overly wordy post.

The World is Upside Down: High Priests of Secular Paganism Promise to “Punish the Wicked” October 19, 2017

Guess who a sodomite activist thinks the wicked are?  You got it:  you and me.

With gay ersatzrimony having the imprimatur of the State, and homosexuality enjoying a positive swing in popular opinion, the only thing standing athwart homosexualism is the Church, which is finding itself increasingly the object of neosexualist agitations.

Two weeks after Obergefell v. Hodges, a liberal firestorm erupted when a Catholic priest in Louisiana withheld communion from Tim Ardillo during his mother’s funeral because of his “marriage” to another man. Apologies (!) from the Diocese of Baton Rouge and Archbishop of New Orleans quickly followed. [So which religion do these bishops truly worship?  Sexular paganism and the world, or Catholicism?]

Channeling Pope Francis, a diocesan spokesman, opined, “We don’t deny people communion… Who are we to judge whether they believe [the church’s teachings on the communion] or not?” (Emphasis added.)

………..What’s more, mea culpas and accommodationist overtones have little purchase in the fever swamps where religious objections are considered bigotry parading in clerical vestments. [Do you think they would say the same about, say, an extreme racist?]

Take Tim Gill a mega-rich LGBT activist who vowed “We’re going to punish the wicked,” which, according to his moral lights is anyone (person, business, or organization) wanting an exemption from participating in same-sex ceremonies. Or Equality Ohio, a LGBT activist group that announced it will go after churches—in particular, Catholic churches—that refuse to make their facilities available for events contrary to their religious beliefs. Or Columbia Law School’s Center for Gender and Sexuality that sponsored a colloquium of experts “to contest and reframe the utilization of religious exemptions to civil rights laws.”

……….The Equality Act, as it’s called, amends the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by including “sexual orientation and gender identity” (SOGI) as protected classes, equivalent to “race.” The proposed legislation includes protections not just for employment, but for housing, public education, credit, jury service, federal funding, and public accommodations. Despite its noble label, The Equality Act is anything but. By giving special protections to concocted classes of individuals, it abrogates the constitutional freedoms of others, creating inequality.

For starters, the bill prohibits appeal to the Religious Freedom Restoration Act as a basis for discriminating against LGBT folk. So if, for example, you are an employee or owner/manager of a private or public business, your constitutional rights to freedom of conscience, speech, and association take the back seat to someone else’s socially constructed “right” to your acceptance of their sexual expression…..

……Obergefell presaged the day when Caesar, having consecrated gay “marriage” as a civil right, will no more tolerate a church that refuses to marry same-sex couples or allow non-celibate homosexuals as members, communicants, leaders, or staffers than it would for a church that refuses the same for ethnic minorities. [It’s true.  And “Catholic in good standing,” receiving Communion at least annually from the hands of Cardinals, made it all possible. One man, deciding the persecution of churches.  And why not?  His own reasoning in approving pseudo-sodo-marriage declared that the ONLY possible reason to oppose it was blind, unyielding bigotry.  And bigotry, as the Left defines it, must always be stamped out, especially in the churches.]

The introduction of The Equality Act is a signal that that day is coming. How soon, depends on how the Supreme Court decides the religious liberty case before it, Masterpiece Cakeshop, Ltd. v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission.

And when that day comes, churches acquiescing to the neosexualist agenda will be legitimized and officially recognized by the State and allowed to keep their tax exempt status. Churches refusing to comply will lose that exemption, causing many to become financially unsustainable, driving them, the confessing Church, underground.

What the “punished” get and their “punishers” don’t, will be something similar to the early Church despite its outlaw status: explosive growth. [You think so?  Maybe.  Do you think the institutional Church will stand firm in opposition to acceptance of sodomy, or will it cave?  Or hasn’t it caved already?  Perhaps it is time for the human element of the institution founded by Christ to die of its own gluttony-induced atherosclerosis, and the Faith to be born anew from the ground up.  But wither “canonically regular” traditional parishes? ]

I’m reading a book called When the Wicked Seize a City.  It’s about the sodomite political takeover of San Francisco. It was written 25 years ago by an evangelical pastor, one of the few Christians in Sodom by the Bay that actually worked to oppose the sodomite agenda.  All the evils, all the tactics, all the means of imposing their will on the majority, were developed, refined, practiced, and implemented decades ago in San Francisco.  But Christians were not paying attention, or couldn’t be bothered to care.

Too bad. They will make you care.  Whether it’s you, or your son or daughter, they are coming for you.  These are deeply wounded people who have an infinite need for not just acceptance, but unending affirmation, even glorification, and ending in total obeisance.  They will not stop until you are on your knees, practically worshiping them.

But in the book, which side was always kind, patient, prayerful, and giving?  And which side tried several times to murder the evangelical pastor, set fire to his house, attacked his children, constantly vandalized his home and church, and engaged in shout downs and even more physical forms of intimidation on a constant basis?  You got it.  The “good” guys.  Sodomites are one of the extremes of the Left, and the Left has convinced itself that everything it does, no matter how heinous, no matter how evil, is good by definition.

There are no limits to the extremes, to the utter depravity to which people so convinced will sink.  This movement must either be crushed, or they will crush us.

Is it time to split this country up?

Blessed Clemens von Galen on the Right Ordering and Purpose Catholic Education October 19, 2017

Clemens von Galen was beatified as a confessor, for the witness of the Faith, and defense of his flock, he gave during the rise and fall of the evil Nazi regime.

The Nazis, as the Left has been doing in this country for a few decades, attempted to kill the Faith by a thousand cuts. Contra the communists, they simply didn’t outlaw the Church on day one and declare all faithful, and especially clergy, enemies of the state.  They operated more by craft, deception, and moderate, but constant application of many means just short of force (though having recourse to force more and more as their ends became more and more obvious – the destruction of the Church – and more and more individuals rose up to oppose them.

As we all know, Vatican Council II did not burst on the Church from a vacuum.  The rot, pointed out by Pope St. Pius X already 30 years before von Galen, was already quite deep.  As such, there were huge debates in the German hierarchy as to how to respond to the Nazi regime.  The slight majority of bishops favored general public science and acquiescence, seeking to influence the regime by endless private dialogue behind the scenes, while a large minority, led in part by von Galen, favored a much more public, confrontational approach.  Because all the bishops, including for a time von Galen, were convinced they could only have effect if they spoke in total unanimity, all the bishops were kept more or less silent for a time by the ineffectual dialogue faction.  Eventually as the persecution became more and more severe, von Galen and others broke with the demand for unanimity and began operating more and more on their own.

Nowhere was the persecution of the Church more apparent than in the area of education.  Like everything else Church-related in crazy Germany, the Catholic schools were state funded.  Well, that gave the Nazis a perfect opening to do just what they pleased with them.  Then they simply started closing all the parochial schools and forcing kids into government Hitler Youth indoctrination camps (remember, the modern public school system and structure is a largely German, and progressive, invention).

This gave rise to von Galen writing an extensive pastoral letter to his flock on the right nature of Catholic education, to try to give them arms with which to protect their children.  It’s really quite good – so good, I can imagine virtually no American prelate uttering words of even close to the same effect.  Maybe Burke, but even that’s dubious in part.

The point of this post is: compare von Galen’s description of a proper Catholic school and education, and compare to the Catholic schools you know.  See how they line up.

Excerpted from various parts of pp. 148-157 of The Lion of Münster:

A Catholic confessional school, according to von Galen, is a school in which Catholic children are taught by believing Catholic teachers, in accordance with the principles of the Catholic Church. [Already we see a massive variance with today’s “Catholic” schools – many children aren’t Catholic, the teachers often are not Catholic and many reject vast swaths of the Faith even if they are, and they are more and more rarely taught according to Catholic Truth.]  Religion influences every aspect of education……….

He urged parents not to be fooled by the different names that might be used in the propaganda for the new state schools, whether it be “the community school,” “the German school,” or “the German confessional school.” Demand instead: the Catholic confessional school.  Then he gave clear, simple, straightforward answers to the standard arguments in favor of the new community schools.  Perhaps, he said, parents would be told that in Catholic areas, everything would remain the same in the new schools. “That is not true,” was the response. “If all were to remain the same, then why all the pressure and advertising for a new school? Will all remain the same if teachers can be assigned to your schools who are not Catholic, or who have left the Catholic Church, or who deny the articles of her faith?“……….

To the claim that the new schools would still have religious instruction, the bishop replied that a brief class on religion each day does not constitute a Catholic education, if for the rest of the day, the educational philosophy was based on a non-Christian spirit and if there were no more prayer and celebration of feast days.  He reminded parents that already, teachers who no longer believed in the Catholic Faith were teaching in Catholic schools……….[Wow. It’s almost as if he’s describing the vast majority of Catholic schools today.  Or, put another way, the Catholic school of today is closer to the Nazi model than the Catholic one?  How many children go through 12 years of Catholic schooling and emerge knowing basically nothing of the Faith, except the same sneering derision for many of its moral precepts they learned from their teachers?]

[But it’s not all on bad Catholic schools……]……No school could make up for parents’ neglect in their children’s religious education.  They should be sure to keep good religious writings in the home and to watch carefully the teaching their children received in the school.

Consecrate your family by means of your parental office so that it will be an acceptable offering to God! Be conscientious about the divine service of communal prayer in your houses!  The father as the head of the family should be its delegate and its representative before God.  Plant the spirit of the fear of the Lord and reverence for the Saints in the hearts of your children! The cross should have the place of honor in a Christian home!……..[Awesome advice]

……….Guard your authority! Give your children healthy spiritual nourishment and genuine joy!  Do not tolerate any poisoning of their loyalty to the Church or disparaging of the Faith by slanders [from those given authority over them as teachers.  Better yet, don’t give unworthy people that authority!]

………God had given [parents] a sacred responsibility, he told fathers and mothers, a responsibility for which they were consecrated by the Sacrament of Matrimony.  The great importance of this Sacrament was becoming even more clear in their own days.  Neither the Church nor the state could absolve them of their duty as educators of their children, nor could the schools take responsibility from them.  He urged them to recall the words of St. Peter: “He who has an office, let him fulfill it in the strength hat God supplies” (I Pet iv:11)……..

[In fact]…….Better NO religion classes in the schools than religion classes that destroy rather than build up, that poison rather than heal!  Keep watch, Christian parents, and observe carefully whether your children are learning the true faith in the school, and are being directed in the truly Christian way of life! [I think after decades of experience, a few worthy exceptions aside, that we can conclude that virtually all Catholic schools are to be assiduously avoided, for they destroy rather than build up, and poison rather than heal.]

————-End Quotes————

Well, as I said, simply compare and contrast what passes for Catholic education these days in virtually all diocesan or religious-run schools, with what Blessed Clemens von Galen describes as both good and bad in proper formation of children.  No wonder, as Venerable Fulton Sheen and many others have said, the absolute last place you want to send your child for Catholic education is a Catholic school (or college/university, for that matter).  Yes, there are a handful of exceptions, but even those exceptions carry with them certain dangers.

Traditional Catholic Mother Leaves Behind Amazing Legacy October 19, 2017

I would like to thank my wife and reader skeinster for sharing this with me.

The mother of Fr. Joseph Portzer, FSSP, Teresa Mary Portzer (nee passed to her eternal reward recently.  She was a sister of 11, 3 of whom were nuns, mother of 14, grandmother of 71, and great-grandmother of 39 (she outdid my father-in-law, who is “merely” grandfather of 66 and about 24 or 5 great grandchildren).

Even more than an eminently pious and apparently holy life well led, being the mother of a priest, she was also a participant in this most holy tradition, of which I was heretofore unaware:

“The cloth (manutergium) in which the hands of the priest is bound is traditionally kept by the priest and is given to the priest’s mother. And the tradition is, then, when the mother of the priest dies that linen cloth, in which her son’s hands were bound when he was ordained a priest, is placed in her coffin. So that when she stands before Almighty God on her judgment day, she will have that cloth in her hands, so that she may say to Jesus Christ, that “Whatever sins I may have committed in my frailty, and whatever evil I have done, I gave the Church a priest.” And that gift of her son to the priesthood will be to her eternal glory in heaven.

In addition, the father of the priest receives the stole from the first Confession, for similar reasons.

A bit about the life of Mrs. Portzer:

Teresa Mary Portzer, 84, died in her home on Saturday, October 14, 2017 after a long illness.

She was one of the founding member of Queen of the Holy Rosary Parish, Vienna, Ohio, where her Requiem Mass will be held.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Arthur and by her children, Stephen, Paula Meluch, Joan Lipka, Elaine Borneman, Marie Price, Charles, Christine Easterday, Annette Prox, Edward, Gregory, Father Joseph Portzer, FSSP, Regina Aronica, Barbara Criste and Ronald; 71 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth, Sister Mary, CDP, Sister Mary Providence, CDP and her brother, Bernard.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Joseph Kriley and Catherine Josepha (Kuhn) Kriley; grandchildren, Andrew and Francisco Meluch and Christopher Michael Aronica; her sisters, Margaret, Cecilia Geibel and Sister Sylvester, CDP and by her brothers, Anthony, Charles, Francis and Wendelin.

The Requiem was held this morning.  Father Portzer, formerly parochial vicar at Mater Dei FSSP parish in Irving, TX, offered the Mass at Queen of the Holy Rosary FSSP parish in Vienna, OH.

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Teresa Mary Portzer.  Families like hers are the rocks upon which the human element of the Church is built.

Local Priest Leads Nightly Processions for Four Years, Plans to Continue for Another Fourteen October 17, 2017

Speaking of processions, I would be remiss if I did not mention the fact that Fr. Paul Weinberger, pastor of St. William parish in Greenville, TX, “concluded” over four years of nightly “Rosary walks” and public processions in honor of Our Lady on October 13.  I say “concluded,” because when Father Weinberger started, his initial intention was to keep up the nightly prayers and processions until the 100th anniversary of Fatima, just concluded.  But since that has now passed, he some months ago announced his intention to continue the nightly devotion until Dec. 12, 2031 – the 500th anniversary of the apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe to St. Juan Diego.

The local diocesan paper finally gave Father Weinberger some coverage recently:

For more than four years, St. William Catholic Church’s parishioners and some of the faithful from far beyond Texas have gathered nightly for a 9 p.m. outdoor Bible study and rosary procession honoring Our Lady of Fatima.

Father Paul Weinberger, pastor of St. William since 2004, said that he expects particularly high participation on Oct. 7—the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary—and Oct. 13—the 100th anniversary of the last of the six Marian apparitions at Fatima, Portugal.

The parish is celebrating the centennial of Our Lady of Fatima’s appearances to Saints Jacinta and Francisco Marto and Lucia Santos and marking St. William’s 125th anniversary this year by not letting an evening go by without opening wide the church doors and processing across the street to a foliage-shrouded park for what has become a beloved tradition.

“By 9 p.m., it is dark and the people of Greenville see the front doors of the church wide open,” said Father Weinberger, who inaugurated the candlelight Rosary walk on June 15, 2013. “The light of the church pours out into the street. The flame from the Sanctuary lamps is taken outside to light the candles that the people are holding. People passing by say, ‘What’s happening at the Catholic Church?’

“We are getting noticed.”

Father Weinberger is who I think of when I recall that a very devout Novus Ordo in Latin definitely paved the way for our family to become full time TLMers, and aided greatly in my general spiritual development.  He is also who I think of when I consider the very best priests out there offering the Novus Ordo and the good they do for souls.  I pray Father Weinberger is allowed to offer the TLM sometime soon (he has offered the Novus Ordo in Latin for years).  I have not spoken to Father Weinberger in quite some time, but he has in the past expressed desire to offer the TLM, but was unable to do so under the previous bishop*.  Some priests were even denied permission and met with threats over offering the Novus Ordo Ad Orientem!  Apparently that last unjust stricture is no longer in place, Deo Gratias, but the situation regarding the TLM remains murkier, at present.

Some very worthy priests like Father Michael Rodriguez have come to the conclusion that, even though they were raised and ordained in a “Novus Ordo environment,” they can no longer in good conscience offer that form of the Mass.  Other priests who have a great love for Tradition and Holy Mother Church may conclude differently, that there remains substantial good they can do in spite of certain unjust restrictions on their priestly ministry (I want to reiterate this is my own speculation, and has nothing to do with Fr. W). I have no problem with either approach – or, perhaps put more accurately, I can easily understand the rationale behind both conclusions, and have sympathy for both of them.  I love and support all priests who are out there doing the best they can, given the limitations placed on them and the current sad state of the human element of the Church, whether they check all the “required” boxes of traditional preference or not.

At any rate, good on you, Father Paul Weinberger, and may God continue to bless you and your apostolate most abundantly.  May our sweet Lord Jesus Christ also move any in authority over you to allow you to conduct your priestly ministry along the lines you feel called to in the light of twin pillars of our Faith, Sacred Scripture and Tradition.

*- previous Dallas Bishop and now Cardinal Kevin Farrell put in place a public policy refusing permission to priests to offer the Mass of St. Pius V, aka the Traditional Latin Mass. That policy included threats for punishment should priests offer the TLM on their own initiative.  It is to be prayed that our new bishop will discontinue that unjust stricture so contrary to the expressed will of the Church in the form of the Pope Emeritus.

Our Lady of Fatima 100th Anniversary Procession October 17, 2017

First, sorry posting has been almost non-existent for the past week.  It’s just work, and family.  I had expected work to slow down, but, it has not.

But, let me at least do a quick post on the wonderful procession held on the 100th anniversary of the final apparition of Our Lady of Fatima and the miracle of the sun at Mater Dei FSSP parish in Irving on October 13.  I was present for the Mass, but due to a bad upper respiratory infection stayed only for the beginning of the 3 mile procession.  There were probably about 400 people at the Mass, which is more than our little church can hold, but many more came just for the procession.  It is estimated about 600-650 people took part in this procession down public streets to Trinity Park and back.  What a fantastic witness to our Catholic Faith!

The procession lasted about 1 1/2 hours, led and followed by a police escort, at night through neighborhood streets the 1 1/2 miles from Mater Dei to the park.  Rosaries and litanies were prayed, and hymns were sung, there and back.  Along the way, many people came out of their house to see this great mass of people going by, drawn by the lights of the police cars and the many voices raised in prayer and song.

Now, there are pictures and some video, but I warn you on the quality.  I took the before photos of the bier and statue of Our Lady, my wife took a couple of videos on the way back, but in between my kids took the pictures and……..well, they’re a bit blurry and shaky. In their defense they were using my phone and it was dark.  I gets what I paid for.

Anyway, hopefully these convey at least a little what the procession was like.  It was a most blessed event, and I pray we are able to do more processions like this on public streets, giving witness to our Faith and, God willing, perhaps leading some souls to, or back to, the Church.  I know going on public streets with a large crowd involves a great deal of effort and cost to make happen, but I think the potential benefit for souls, both those involved and those along the way, more than justify the cost.  I’m reading a long book about how San Francisco slid into the nightmare it is today, and one of the principle causes, aside from the obvious debauched evil far too many residents there not only embrace, but practically worship, was the failure of Christians to not just resist, but adequately witness their Faith.  This has been one of the prime reasons for the entire slide of this nation into its present state, which is just as bad as Sodom and Gomorrah.  They won’t leave us alone.  They will MAKE YOU CARE.  They will come to take our churches away, eventually, unless we resist, which isn’t always a negative “thou shalt not” attitude/action, but also a positive demonstration of the great love God inspires in us and the great Grace and happiness he brings to our lives.  Sermon concluded.

Thanks to everyone who put this blessed event together. I know it took a great deal of work, especially from Father Longua and Adrian Montes, and I want to thank both of them personally for loving Our Lady, Holy Mother Church, and souls enough to pull off such a wonderful, beautiful procession.

Sorry for not posting the past few days, and doing very little on this most auspicious of days.  I’ve had a cold and at this place of work of mine, they don’t let you throttle down at all.  It’s WOT from day one and your engine is supposed to grow more and more powerful as time goes by, always picking up speed.  Pretty competitive environment.  Very little slack.

At any rate, I pray you have had a blessed day and will have a wonderful night.  Let me know if you saw anything miraculous or providential today, on this anniversary.  There is Mass and a big procession tonight at the FSSP parish but I don’t think I’m up for the procession. Still getting over this cold I picked up at church. Hopefully my wife or kids will take some photos or video I can share with you.

Anyway I have tons to post as usual, but some will age out before I get to it.  But I’ve got some local items I hope I get a chance to write about next week.

God bless you and may Our Lady of Fatima intercede for us all and for our Holy Mother Church on this most incredible anniversary.

This is a must-listen to contribution from Father Rodriguez.  Thanks to JMJHF Productions for uploading this to Youtube, and so quickly.

I am pressed for time, so the description comes from Youtube:

This is a talk given by Fr. Michael Rodríguez on October 6, 2017, in observance of the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary (Oct. 7th) and the 100th Anniversary of the Miracle of the Sun (Oct. 13th). The talk covers three main themes: A Terrible Crisis in the Papacy, the Letter of Filial Correction, and the 100th Anniversary of the Fatima Apparitions.

Fr. Rodríguez makes an urgent plea to all of the world’s Catholics, especially those who are not familiar with the Traditional Latin Mass, but do have a sincere desire to be good and faithful Catholics. Fr. Rodríguez explains three great signs which God is giving us, thereby calling us to convert back to Him and to the true Catholic religion of 2000 years. These three signs from Heaven are: (1) the frightening crisis in the Papacy, (2) the historic “Letter of Filial Correction” and (3) the 100th Anniversary of the Miracle of the Sun.

[Tantumblogo adds a bit more – Father also, and very critically, establishes the bases upon which Catholic Truth is established (Tradition and Scripture), and their unalterable nature.  This is absolutely key, for it reveals the core element of the crisis afflicting the papacy.  I think it is also quite important to meditate on the quite likely supernatural correlation of events and dates – Francis, elected in 2013, the Fatima Apparitions, occurring on the 13th of each month, 2017 being the 100th anniversary of those anniversaries, dubia against Amoris Laetitia coming in 2017, along with a Filial Correction and, quite possibly, a fraternal correction from Cardinals.  There is likely much more to come.  Our Lord does not always work by exact dates, but 100th anniversaries of Marian apparitions have figured large in prior history, such as the failure of Louis XIV to consecrate France to the Sacred Heart in 1689, with the French Revolution breaking out exactly a century later. We must adhere to this Faith of the ages and reject the modernized, protestantized “new Catholicism” of the past 50 years.]

Fr. Rodríguez is one of the signatories of the Letter of Filial Correction of Pope Francis. Fr. Rodríguez explains both the Letter of Filial Correction, and how faithful Catholics must respond to the present, nearly unprecedented, crisis in the Papacy. He concludes with a brief teaching on the Message of Our Lady of Fatima. This is a must see video for all Catholics who desire to be faithful to God and the Church in the midst of a terrible crisis in the papacy.

[I can’t do justice to a condensation in the time I have, this video is close to an hour long but is extremely important – if you watch/listen to one video this week, let it be this one! God bless you and may this post and Father Rodriguez’ efforts all be Ad Maiorum Dei Gloriam. Please keep Father, Francis, and the entire hierarchy always in your prayers, and implore God to have mercy on our Holy Mother Church!]

I should have also added, that Father Rodriguez makes note that one of the specific matters of error emanating from this papacy is a statement from the increasingly notorious Cardinal Farrell that the awarding of manifest grave sinners with a prize for their sin (see, guys, we can turn this argument you love to use on its head) in the Eucharist for divorced and civilly remarried Catholics constitutes: “a process of discernment and conscience.” Uh huh.

Cardinal Farrell: Priests Have No Role to Play in Marriage Prep October 10, 2017

Hey, that cardinal’s hat wasn’t going to land on his head all by itself.  It had to be earned.  Kevin Farrell may not pray much, have a great depth of spirituality, or even know much theology, but he sure as heck know who the piper is, and what tune is being called.

There are actually two aspects to this report.  One is the outrageous statement made by former Dallas bishop and now Cardinal Farrell, and the other is how the Catholic media presented this statement, at least in the form of the headline.

To cover the claim, first:

Marriage ministry needs to be done by married couples because priests have “no credibility in this area,” Cardinal Kevin Farrell, prefect of the Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life, told a church gathering. [So, marriage is in the direct area of responsibility for Cardinal Farrell]

Delivering the keynote address to 500 delegates from the Diocese of Down and Connor at the Faith and Life convention in Belfast Sept. 30, Farrell discussed Pope Francis’ 2016 apostolic exhortation “Amoris Laetitia” (“The Joy of Love”) and appealed to parishes to establish study groups on the document and to train couples to teach, prepare, guide and accompany married couples. [Giving a talk to a large group of laity concerning “Faith and Life,” Cardinal Farrell chose to make a bold statement]

On the role of priests in marriage accompaniment and preparation, he said they had “no credibility when it comes to living the reality of marriage” even though they may know the principles, the philosophy and the theology. [This is manifestly incorrect.  Priests have the primary responsibility to train and form lay people in every aspect of life, but especially regarding the Seven Sacraments. More in a second.]

Speaking to Catholic News Service afterward, the Dublin-born former bishop of Dallas said parishes would have to be prepared to train laypeople for such a role, which he saw as a new model of accompaniment in line with the pope’s vision for the church…….[So is this really about what’s best for couples, or who provides the best catechesis, or is it about implementing an ideological agenda in the Church?]

……..Ministering by couples to couples is better done by “people who have walked in their shoes,” the cardinal said. He admitted he did not “have a clue” how to answer some of the questions on couples’ difficulties, which his own nieces and nephews had put to him. [Well that’s more the shame for you and your family, not to mention the Diocese of Dallas which you led for nearly a decade, and now the entire Church.  This claim is based on a logical fallacy, that only those who live an experience can speak sensibly on it. In point of fact, being buried knee deep in an experience can actually warp one to a point that making a sensible, helpful contribution on it is impossible – one is simply too close to the problem.  Even though Cardinal Farrell makes some statements about the laity needing to be trained, lay-led catechesis in the vast majority of the Church (re: Novus Ordo world) has been and remains a disaster.  Most laity are very poorly and narrowly educated, and what education they have received has been dominated by leftist/modernist suppositions.  It is very hard not to see this as yet another avenue by which to undermine the sanctity of marriage.  And, by the way, Cardinal, lay people have been doing the lion’s share of what a paltry excuse for “marriage prep” exists in the Church today.  Priests, largely sequestered in their offices as administrators and occasional “sacramental administrators,” have only rarely played a substantial role in marriage prep for decades.  Indeed, my wife and I received exceedingly poor marriage prep, consisting of two 1 1/2 hour meetings, from an old hippy couple in Austin, both divorced and remarried.  What shining example we received!  We didn’t learn diddly squat, except that sex is groovy and we should contracept.  There are exceptions to this sad practice, which has done so much already to undermine marriage in the Church, and turn American Catholics into creatures indistinguishable from the broader culture when it comes to marriage, and now you wish to visit the American/Western disaster upon the broader world (or has Cardinal Farrell so adopted his beloved leader’s ideology that he has convinced himself that it’s 1955 again, and mean old priests, casting poor divorced souls out of church left and right, refusing to hear their confessions, are giving lay people really severe, strict, morally impossible catechesis. What planet do these guys live on – or are their arguments really so weak they must create a straw man Church)?  Anyway,  those exceptions are far too rare, and generally concentrated in traditional parishes and the few brave, persecuted, orthodox Novus Ordo priests.]

“I have no experience of that and the majority of priests don’t have that experience,” Farrell said, noting that many of the married couples who attended the 2014 and 2015 Synod of Bishops on the family insisted that more lay couples be involved in marriage ministry. [Priests absolutely DO have, or CAN have, experience of a beautifully lived marital vocation, in the form of the witness provided by their parents!  This is where many great Saints and moral theologians, such as Alphonsus Maria de Ligouri, gained their experience, and it was sufficient to guide dozens of generations of married Catholics to sanctity.  It is only in this period of cold hearts and dead faith that the leadership of the Church find it necessary to invent all kinds of new failed programs to replace the old, successful ones, the ones that were given up for dead because they failed to “resonate with the new man.”  But the new man is the same as the old, it is only the faith of the new men in leadership which has failed.]

Well, we can certainly see that in Cardinal Farrell, Francis found the right man for his job of remaking the Church in his own image.

Now, if you’re like me, Cardinal Farrell was speaking quite boldly, even definitively.  He left no doubt that he feels that priests “have no credibility in this area.”  That’s a quite definitive statement.

So how did the Catholic press, especially Catholic News Service writer Sarah MacDonald, report this really remarkable declaration from Farrell?  Get this headline: “Prefect suggests couples can be better at marriage prep than priests.”  Hmmm.  Is that your takeaway from this?  That Cardinal Farrell suggested that priests could be better at marriage prep than priests? It read to me like he just came out and said it, like a bald statement of fact.

And so we see that fake news is not limited to the secular world!  That’s how you got Trump, Mzzz. MacDonald.

Beyond the differences, he is a Peronist Pope” – Lieutenant Governor of Buenos Aires, March 14, 2013, the day after Francis was elected Pope.
