I’ve written on this subject before, though it’s been some time – basically, there has long existed a marked division among the Texas pro-life movement, the uncompromising, total ban on abortion and other forms of murder position represented by Texas Right to Life, and the much more accommodating stand taken by Texas Alliance for Life.  There are many reasons to view Texas Alliance as weak on key issues, and indeed, most of the most dedicated, most successful pro-life advocates tend to support Texas Right to Life.  During the 2014 legislative session, some acrimonious division developed between Texas Right to Life and the Texas Catholic Conference (TCC), which is the bureaucratic arm of the state’s bishops (like a mini-USCCB).  Dominated by its lay staff and their preferences, including their relations with several prominent Texas lawmakers, TCC at various points supported end-of-life legislation that a number of pro-life advocates believed – I should say proved –  actually worsened the status quo in Texas, and put elderly, the sick, and their families even more at the mercy of doctors and hospitals in making end of life decisions.

So why has Texas Catholic Conference taken the very  unusual step of disavowing, or telling all Catholics in the state to disavow, this most effective pro-life group now?  In a word, politics.  Texas Right to Life, along with a number of other hardcore grass-roots conservatives groups like the Eagle Forum, Concerned Women for America, Texas homeschoolers, and others, have managed to fund a number of “insurgent” campaigns by true, hardcore conservatives against establishment candidates like Angela Paxton.  Early voting is underway for the party primaries, so feeling their establishment buddies under threat, major Texas politicians like Joe Straus – the Speaker of the House, who has done more than anyone to block effective pro-life legislation in this state and who saw Texas’ pro-life ranking drop from #4 to #12 in his 10 year tenure as speaker – are pulling out the stops to try to break the backs of the conservative groups supporting the insurgent candidacies.

We’ve seen this before in this state, where the establishment always favors its own, but not to this degree, and not with a public disavowal of a group whose only “sin”, even by Texas Catholic Conference’s own admission, is to be “too pro-life.”  In point of fact, the very minor pro-life “gains” we have seen in Texas are out of all proportion to the citizenry’s general abhorrence of abortion.  In one of the most conservative states of the union, Texas’ pro-life legislation falls further and further behind, because of the super slow boil establishment approach.

Many Texas Catholics are incensed by what they see as a betrayal of THE most effective, most dedicated pro-life group in the state (which also happens to have the support of the best bishop this state has seen in 50+ years, Bishop Emeritus Rene Gracida of Corpus Christi, who now offers the TLM more or less exclusively).

If you want more on the inside baseball of Texas politics and how this very sad abandonment of a great pro-life group9 came to pass, read the below from Church Militant, which……..yeah, I know, but just roll with it:

The bishops’ denouncement of Texas Right to Life comes in the wake of a split looming inside the Texas Republican Party — a winnowing of the conservative wheat from the Establishment chaff. Internal polling indicates Lone Star State RINOs are facing extinction in the upcoming elections, and political insiders believe the bishops’ “advisory” is a ploy to save their political hides. By demonizing Texas Right to Life, they suggest, the bishops hope to preserve their political allies in office.

According to their “advisory,” the bishops are spurning Texas Right to Life for three reasons:

  1. Conflicts on pro-life reform. The bishops complained the group “often opposes the Texas Catholic Conference of Bishops and has implied that the bishops do not faithfully represent Church teaching.” Texas Right to Life rejects the bishops’ “incrementalism” as a halting, soft approach.
  2. Conflicts on end-of-life reform. The bishops slammed Texas Right to Life’s messaging on end-of-life care and advance directives as “misstatements.”
  3. Texas Right to Life’s voter guide. The group publishes an annual voter guide scoring Texas lawmakers according to their pro-life record. The bishops have denounced the guide as built on unfair analysis, and they maintain “a number of legislators who have consistently voted for pro-life and end of life legislation have been opposed by Texas Right to Life.”

This isn’t the first time Texas Right to Life has run afoul of the Church Establishment. In 2013, Jeffrey Patterson, executive director of the Texas Catholic Conference, wrote to state Representative Dan Huberty on behalf of the bishops, blasting Texas Right to Life’s voter guide as “unconventional,” “subjective” and producing “perplexing results.” He complained that the voter guide assigned low scores to “pro-life lawmakers who have worked long and hard to protect and preserve life.”

But Republican lawmakers like Byron Cook and Joseph Straus, key leaders of the Texas GOP Establishment, have been criticized by Texas Right to Life for obstructing pro-life laws.

As Church Militant reported in October 2017, “Cook, as the chairman of the Texas House State Affairs Committee, has worked overtime to block pro-life legislation from being passed in the Texas legislature despite claiming to be pro-life.” For example, he killed HB1113, the Pro-Life Health Insurance Reform, which would prohibit insurance companies from paying for elective abortions.

The pro-life bills Cook did support were considered “weak” and “fake” by Texas Right to Life — “ineffective or non-priority” measures that were actually “detrimental to the pro-life movement.”

Straus, meanwhile, as Speaker of the House, “put a sudden end to a special legislative session” that Gov. Greg Abbott had called in order to address important bills Establishment Republicans ignored during the 2016–17 regular session.

Just because, fearing losing a primary election, Straus and Cook are no longer seeking another term, does not mean that the establishment is broken or disorganized. As we see, they are still plenty powerful.

I do wonder the degree to which the 13 bishops who ostensibly make up TCC are involved in this, and the degree to which it comes from the lay bureaucrats who run TCC on a day to day basis?

If you want to read the TCC declaration, here it is—>>>02-2018_TRTL_parish_advisory

Some folks are planning to walk out if the announcement is read in their parish during Mass this Sunday. I don’t think I’m going to have to worry about that.

I am saddened and shocked at this turn of events.  There was no need for such an absolutist position from TCC against TRL – the two have worked together at many points in the past.  Why now, of all times, this matter had to be brought to the fore is incomprehensible for reasons of doctrine or importance to souls.  It very much appears to be doing what their political allies in Austin want the TCC to do, which is to try to remove a troublesome thorn from the establishcrats side.  To Bishop Olson – dude, I’ve defended you in the past, but you got to get a hold of your temper.   There are fights that are optional, and fights that are mandatory, and fights that one should never get in, and this is one of those.

Crazed Mass Murderer, One of History’s Greatest Monsters, Resigns Planned Barrenhood January 25, 2018

The rumors have been that Planned Butcherhood is about to get hit with a number of federal charges/indictments, and that some of those might name apparently departing Planned Parenthood head Cecile Richards personally.  She got out while the gettin’ was good.  Whenever one of these ambitious, wholly ideological creatures says “time with the family” or “other projects,” it means it was forced in one way or another.  These people never voluntarily step down from their positions of power and influence.  To the idea that she means to run for governor of Texas – yeah, good luck with that.

Anyway, by deliberate act, she participated in the murder of over 3.5 million babies.  That makes her one of histories greatest monsters:

The President of America’s largest abortion chain Planned Parenthood, Cecile Richards, plans to resign next week, according to a Buzzfeed report that cited “two sources familiar with the matter.”

A Planned Parenthood representative told Buzzfeed, “Cecile plans to discuss 2018 and the next steps for Planned Parenthood’s future at the upcoming board meeting.”

“The Planned Parenthood official did not comment on Richards’ future,” Buzzfeed reported, even though “Richards, 60, has informed at least some members of the organization’s board of directors [that she is leaving], one of the sources confirmed.”

Richards has overseen America’s largest abortion vendor since 2006. Her salary continually increased as did her tenure. She currently rakes in nearly a million dollars a year overseeing the organization that commits over 300,000 abortions annually. [$3 a head.  What a bargain.]

During the Obama era, the abortion business had an ally in the White House. However, Richards still had to contend with investigations from Live Action and the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) that revealed Planned Parenthood’s willingness to cover up child sex abuseaid-and-abet sex traffickers, and profit from selling body parts of aborted babies. [Abortionists cover up sex abuse?  How else do the abusers get rid of the evidence?  I mean, c’mon people!  This is current year!  What else are they going to do with it?!?  It’s not like selling babies into white slavery in Qatar or Brunei is easy these days!]

Since President Trump took office, Planned Parenthood has increasingly sounded the alarm about the threat he and other pro-life Republicans pose to abortion-on-demand.

“Cecile Richards was the most devoted practitioner of Planned Parenthood’s ‘out of sight, out of mind’ mantra to cover up their barbaric abortion business from the public,” David Daleiden of CMP told LifeSiteNews. “As Planned Parenthood faces federal criminal investigation from the FBI and DOJ for selling aborted baby hearts, lungs, livers, and brains, Richards’ departure shows that the old strategy is no longer working – the secret is out that Planned Parenthood is a taxpayer-sponsored crime syndicate of industrial-scale child killing, and even Cecile Richards can no longer put a friendly spin on it.” [Awesome quote]

“Cecile Richards may be stepping down because Planned Parenthood is under investigation for illegally trafficking in aborted baby body parts and other crimes,” Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue, told LifeSiteNews. “She may be trying to get out before indictments drop. She is also tainted with other scandals by her close affiliation with Hillary Clinton and Fusion GPS, which are also being investigated. Planned Parenthood may now view her as a liability.”

“In any case, this news indicates a destabilized Planned Parenthood organization, and as long as they are in disarray, they can’t expand their abortion enterprise, and that is good news,” said Newman.

So for the greatest killers of the last 120 years, Cecile Richards has passed fellow leftist Pol Pot and is up there in Hitler territory.  She’s a piker compared to the greatest leftist murderers of all time, though – Stalin and his 50 million, and Mao with his 100 million plus.

It’s almost like this ideology is the literal inversion of all that is good and true and brings with it nothing but endless, hellish death.  But it’s the official ideology of probably 95% of all the college professors in this country and throughout the West.  Could a hundred thousand academics really be this wrong?

And you want to pay them $50,000 a year for the privilege of indoctrinating your children in this most beastly of ideologies?  Of course, there are ways around this, it’s not a blanket condemnation of sending any kids to any college, but it is meant to be a provocative challenge – are you really thinking about what you’re doing?  And are you doing it for them, or for yourself? I knew a family, an outwardly good, seemingly Catholic family, that refused to believe that Notre Dame University was anything but the be all and end all of Catholicism, and the absolute best place to send their kids to college after going through the incredible sacrifice of homeschooling all of them.  They had 5 kids.  They sent four of them to Notre Dame.  Every single one has fallen away from the Faith. and not in a low key, but a spectacular manner.    They’re not just cold to the Faith, they are positively hostile.  The last kid, the youngest, was lucky.  He didn’t have the grades for Notre Dame. So he’s going to a local community college, and is still Catholic.

I bring up this bit about college because Leftism is an all-pervading ideology with a thousand facets and a million ways to kill a soul.  It’s also the dominant culture in our media-numbed society.  Leftism always ends in death.  Sometimes its the death of millions of babies, other times it’s the death of faith in millions of souls, but it always brings death with it, because it’s not just a creation of fallen men, but it was contrived as a deliberate antithesis to Christianity and godliness.  It’s the tempting alternative to a moral, godly life.  It’s presented as bright and shiny, intelligent and popular, urbane and sophisticated, the default belief set for anyone who wants to be anybody in this world.

But this is what it really is:

For the squeamish, frankly, I could have shown much, much worse.  This is who Cecile Richards is, and what she promotes.  May God have mercy on her soul, and may she convert before it is too late.

The Case Can Be Made that Trump is the Most Pro-Life President Ever January 25, 2018

Even though, in the past, he has painted himself as a pro-abort at times, in terms of concrete action, has any president done as much as Donald Trump to support the pro-life cause?  Not only was he the first sitting president to directly address and, in a way, take part in the March for Life, he named Jan 22, the anniversary of the worst, most murderous, most unconstitutional and immoral Supreme Court decision ever (Roe v Wade), Sanctity of Human Life Day:

President Donald Trump proclaimed Monday, January 22, 2018, “National Sanctity of Human Life Day.” The proclamation comes on the 45th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the landmark decision that legalized abortion in the U.S. throughout the entire nine months of a mother’s pregnancy.

Trump made the proclamation on Friday, as hundreds of thousands of pro-life pilgrims converged upon Washington D.C. for the annual March for Life.

“Today, we focus our attention on the love and protection each person, born and unborn, deserves regardless of disability, gender, appearance, or ethnicity,” begins Trump’s proclamation.

“Reverence for every human life, one of the values for which our Founding Fathers fought, defines the character of our Nation,” Trump continued in the proclamation. “Today, it moves us to promote the health of pregnant mothers and their unborn children.”

In doing this, however, he was just continuing a practice of Republican presidents since Reagan in 1984:

President Ronald Reagan proclaimed the first National Sanctity of Human Life Day in 1984, making note that millions of U.S. lives lost to abortion in the 11 years since Roe v. Wade — already by then over tenfold the number of Americans lost in all our Nation’s wars” — was “a tragedy of stunning dimensions that stands in sad contrast to our belief that each life is sacred.”…….

……….It was continued every year throughout the administration of Reagan’s successor, George H.W. Bush. Bill Clinton then dropped it during his eight years as president, and George W. Bush then resumed it again for his eight years in office.

Barack Obama did not declare National Sanctity of Human Life Day during the eight years of his administration.

Go figure.

Trump’s reinstated the “Mexico City” policy, forbidding federal funding of abortion overseas.  He nominated a solidly pro-life Supreme Court Justice.  He wants to defund Planned Barrenhood, if Congress can ever pass a new budget, instead of endless continuing resolutions.  These place him as equal the better Republican presidents since Reagan.  But by attending the March for Life, did Trump – whose personal life is a catalog of immorality – catapult himself into position as the most pro-life president ever?  Could it be, that contrary to his predecessors, he is less a politician than a man of some convictions, less likely to be bent by the polling or the political winds?

I like Marjorie Dannenfelser and the Susan B. Anthony List.  They do a lot of good work. But perhaps I’ve gotten a bit jaded over the past decade-plus of pro-life activism.  Leaders of pro-life institutions like the Susan B. Anthony List have had a history, one might even say made a bit of a career, out of blowing a lot of happy gas.  We are frequently told abortion is just about to be defeated.  This next major (really minor) legislative victory will have a huge impact and just about end legalized abortion.  Etcetera,  etcetera.  Of course, interest groups like the SBA List feel they have to do this, to keep supporters energized and donations flowing in. And certainly, it’s hard to keep a movement organized and involved after 50 years of a legislative and judicial status quo that keeps abortion on demand at any time throughout pregnancy (and frequently at taxpayer expense) basically the law of the land. Whether they really believe all their PR, I don’t know.

So color me a little bit doubtful when Dannenfelser reports that a POSSIBLE FBI investigation and a possible court victory could finally turn the tide against the Moloch-worshiping, baby-murdering corporate interest.  But we Christians trade on hope, so I hope she is right:

On Nov. 13, The Hill reported that the FBI may [may. As in MAY] be investigating Planned Parenthood and its associates for the sale of aborted babies’ body parts for profit. It’s the latest development yet in a scandal that began in 2015 with the release of explosive undercover videos………

………The Senate Judiciary Committee and the House Select Investigative Panel on Infant Lives spent almost one-and-a-half years conducting a national investigation, reviewing 30,000 pages of documents, and hearing hours of testimony.

They found enough evidence to refer several Planned Parenthood affiliates and tissue procurement companies for potential prosecution. Attorney General Jeff Sessions suggested that if the FBI concurs, charges might be filed. [But then, we see that the FBI and Justice Department (what the heck is Deputy Dawg Sessions doing?) lied repeatedly to Congress and kept secret for months the fact that the principle investigator of both the Clinton e-mail scandal and the now seemingly open-ended (as in endless) attempt to frame Trump for “obstruction of justice” (which is what got Nixon impeached) in the non-existent Russian collusion information op was not only an adulterer, not only a huge Clinton supporter, but also a vehement hater of Trump.  That is, he was completely invested in one side and completely biased. And we’re supposed to think THIS FBI is going to honestly or effectively investigate the one of the prime bulwarks of the sexular leftist deep state apparatus, Planned Barrenhood?!?  Where else will all these post-Christian pagan elitists send their daughters, or themselves, when they have an inconvenient or embarrassing pregnancy?]

Then came the second punch.

Just as news of the FBI inquiry broke, the 8th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals declined to revisit its ruling that the state of Arkansas can redirect Medicaid funds away from abortion businesses like Planned Parenthood, which the state is completely justified in doing considering the ongoing baby parts scandal.

These two major breakthroughs would have been inconceivable under the Obama administration, which repeatedly abused federal power to prop up the abortion industry. [Which is entirely true.  It would be similarly inconceivable under a notional President Hillary.  Thus, another reason why I voted for Trump, and why his election was a good thing (given the alternative).]

………But there’s a new sheriff in Washington now, and a palpable sense of terror is gripping Planned Parenthood and its camp. Without their defender-in-chief or the courts to bail them out, they are finally being held accountable. [Yes and no.  Trump does have an unprecedented opportunity to remake the courts, with something like 25% of federal district court slots vacant, and nearly 17% of appellate court slots similarly open.  That’s just right now.  Over the course of his presidency, Trump may be able to name nearly 40% of district court justices and over 1/3 of Court of Appeals.  That, coupled with many holdovers from Bush and even Reagan, may allow a solid conservative majority in the judiciary at all levels for the first time in decades, IF the Repubniks can hold onto Congress and especially the Senate. Thus, vote for Roy Moore, Alabamans]

Trump has busily set about undoing his predecessor’s destructive pro-abortion legacy. He has filled his Cabinet with pro-life officials, and has filled court vacancies with outstanding judges like Neil Gorsuch who faithfully interpret the Constitution.

Right away, Trump signed legislation (H.J. Res. 43) rolling back Obama’s parting gift to the abortion industry—something that, on a personal note, I was proud to witness in the Oval Office.

Trump’s strong commitment to pro-life policies has helped embolden state governors and legislatures. Texas has now applied to reclaim the federal funding it was denied under the last administration. South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster in August successfully defunded Planned Parenthood and requested a waiver from the Trump administration so that the state can do the same with Medicaid, which is where the abortion business gets most of its taxpayer funding. [Yep, because abortions cost way more than contraception, and it is laughably easy to get a doctor, especially a Planned Butcherhood doctor, to assert that an abortion is “medically necessary,” and thus covered by Medicaid.  I have personally spoken with scores, maybe hundreds of abortion-seekers who have stated paying for the murder of their child is no problem, as you and I are paying for it.]

The next step is for the Trump administration to issue new guidance to the states restoring their freedom to prioritize Medicaid funds the way they believe will best serve their citizens. The administration must be prepared to defend that policy vigorously should the case go to the Supreme Court.

The pro-life majorities in both houses of Congress should also fulfill their promise to redirect half a billion dollars in annual taxpayer funding away from Planned Parenthood……

I won’t hold my breath on that last bit.

Yes, there’s a lot of good news, but Planned Murderhood has shown itself uniquely – practically diabolically – resistant to bad PR, incredibly damning undercover revelations, and even proof of wanton law-breaking in the past.  As I said, PP is one of the Leftist coalition’s most critical members.  They would jettison almost anything else before losing the right to murder inconvenient children.  While these are happy developments, I would not go prognosticating that Planned Parenthood is about to meet it’s demise, or is even coming under heavy threat.  It’s all mostly speculation at this point, and that group seems to have a particularly powerful set of demons watching over it.

The kind that only come out by prayer and fasting.

Trump Matters: FBI Investigating Planned Butcherhood Baby Part Bonanza November 14, 2017

As we lamentably see in the news almost every day, the supposedly apolitical executive branches of government have become wholly politicized special interest groups who view their agenda – constant growth of budgets, personal wealth, and power – as being virtually as one with the democrat party and the establishment class of Repubniks.  This process, which has been underway since at least the early 90s, accelerated and metastasized unbelievably under Obama.

Still, a change of administration can have some impact on federal agencies, especially with the right leadership (I am not saying Sessions as AG is the right leadership).  Under Obama, massive evidence of Planned Barrenhood’s blatantly illegal murdered baby part sales operation was swept under the rug.  In fact, a deeply politicized, hopelessly immoral, and endlessly corrupt political machinery sought to persecute and even jail not Planned Barrenhood, but those who exposed their cynical greed.

Well, things may be changing, if far too little, and far too slowly.  It is reported that the FBI MAY – not is, but MAY – be investigating Planned Murderhood for illegally profiting from the sale of the children they callously murder in their hundreds of thousands every year.  Which, even if true, is really very late in the game and will probably not go anywhere, but it is perhaps a hopeful indication that the ceaseless leftist bent in the federal government may be softening a bit:

The FBI signaled this week agents may be investigating whether Planned Parenthood’s dealings in fetal tissue were legal.

Sources told The Hill the FBI has requested documents from the Senate Judiciary Committee obtained from the committee’s investigation into Planned Parenthood’s fetal tissue dealings. The investigation came after the Center for Medical Progress published a series of explosive videos in 2015 revealing the abortion giant was harvesting and distributing aborted baby parts for researchers. [Yes, and numerous even more damning videos from this and other exposes put together by CMP remain unreleased, as David Daleiden and other CMP members are under indictment and gag order in the Republik of Kalifornia]

CMP alleges Planned Parenthood was illegally profiting from the exchange of limbs and organs, and the House and Senate launched investigations into the non-profit’s practice. Senate Judiciary Chair Chuck Grassley referred Planned Parenthood to the FBI at the conclusion of that investigation, saying his committee found evidence indicating the group was profiting.

Planned Parenthood told The Hill none of its affiliates have been in contact with the FBI. [so maybe this isn’t a big thing after all?  Far be it from Planned Parenthood to lie, after all]

So on a tangential note, what do you guys make of this Roy Moore imbroglio in Alabama?  It seems to me nothing but a political hit job, rather like the claims of sexual harassment leveled at Trump in October 2016, and then completely forgotten after he won?

I get why McConnell and the rest of the establishment would go after Moore: they’d much rather have a democrat than an honest to goodness conservative to deal with.  But I am pretty disappointed that even Ted Cruz, who I thought was smarter than this, is now calling for Moore to drop out of the race.

If I were Moore, I wouldn’t do it.  I’d stay in and remain 100% defiant.  We cannot let the Left start obliterating candidates simply based on outrageous, totally unsupported allegations from 40 years ago.  Plus, we’ve seen far too many political hit jobs vanish into thin air as soon as some serious investigation begins (and I understand some of the allegations have already melted, and the credibility of some accusers is already under doubt).  ‘

But I don’t know what happens if the Alabama Republican party withdraws their support.  Supposedly, the democrat becomes the automatic winner then in a two man race.

So what happens viz a viz the base and the Republican party if they manage to get him to lose, when he seemed set to win?  Breitbart would say “WAR!” but what would that entail?  How else can we tell the party to radically change course, or else?  And if they continue not to comply?  Then what?

Trump Makes Major Moral Restitution Repealing Obama Policies October 9, 2017

President Donald Trump has reversed two immoral Obama-era policies that instituted in formal governmental practice acts hideous to Catholics and all souls striving after virtue. Both of these policies were intended to further Obama’s religion of sexular paganism at the expense of Christianity as a cultural force, and even more so at the expense of the good of millions of individual souls.

The two policies affected, both of which were ludicrously unconstitutional, were the HHS Mandate forcing Christians opposed to contraceptive use to purchase insurance coverage for its “free” provision (and even forcing celibate Catholic religious orders to do the same!), and the vast expansion of decades old civil rights provisions to include protection from bias on the basis of sex to include those suffering from mental illness and their 875 different, wholly made up “genders.”

First, on the HHS Mandate, Trump has approved broad exemptions for faith-based groups:

The Trump administration announced broad new exemptions to the Health and Human Services’ contraceptive mandate on Friday, that aim to give relief to religious nonprofits and others with deeply held religious or moral convictions regarding contraception.

A senior HHS official told reporters on Thursday that the exemptions are intended to provide full protection for those with religious beliefs and moral convictions. Religious-liberty protections are central to American values, the official explained.

The HHS official told reporters that, on issues of grave moral concern to Americans, where the issue of human life is at stake, policy needs to ensure that religious believers are not “punished” by the federal government. Such policy reflects authentic “tolerance” of divergent viewpoints, he said.

In a May 4 executive order “promoting free speech and religious liberty,” President Donald Trump promised relief from the HHS mandate to the Little Sisters of the Poor, who were present at his May announcement in the White House Rose Garden. Cardinal Daniel DiNardo of Galveston-Houston, president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, and Cardinal Donald Wuerl of Washington, D.C., were also present for the announcement, which came during a National Day of Prayer ceremony.

“I want you to know that your long ordeal will soon be over,” Trump told the Little Sisters present at the White House. Their lawsuit against the mandate dates back to 2013.

The HHS policy announced today adds broad religious and moral exemptions to the mandate.

The HHS contraceptive mandate originated in the Affordable Care Act (ACA), which ordered that “preventive services,” be covered in health plans. In 2012, the Department of Health and Human Services mandated that cost-free coverage for contraceptives, sterilizations and abortifacient drugs be included in health plans. [In essence, imposing dogmas sacred to the sexular pagan left onto Christians who regarded such coverage as anathema, just like having to participate in a pseudo-sodo-wedding by baking someone a cake.  This was always about demonstrating religious superiority, whether the Left wants to acknowledge it or not.]

………Catholic theologians and ethicists argued in an amicus brief at the Supreme Court that the accommodation would be considered “either formal cooperation in wrongdoing, or impermissible material cooperation in serious wrongdoing, and would therefore be gravely wrongful.” [Can’t we just say sinful?]

Yes, the Trump administration – or deep state apparatchiks within the executive branch – continued enforcing Obama’s draconian interpretation of religious exemptions until the policy was formally changed.  It’s taken too long, but at last one of the most egregiously unconstitutional executive actions of the Obama administration have been repealed.  If only Republicans in Congress could get their act together and ban this Mandate, all of it, properly, legislatively, but I won’t hold my breath.

Also announced last Friday, where news coverage is the slowest, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, in one of his better moments, also directed that his department will abrogate Obama’s expansion of various civil rights acts to include so-called transgenders:

In a reversal of federal policy that pleased marriage advocates and angered LGBTQI groups, the U.S. Department of Justice issued a memo interpreting the Civil Rights Act of 1964 as not intended to apply to transgenders.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions wrote to the country’s federal prosecutors that on “all pending and future matters” the DOJ will go by what Congress originally intended and not add unforeseen deviances when enforcing laws regarding equal treatment on the basis of “sex.”

At issue is the word “sex.” A section of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 criminalized discrimination based on “sex.” Gay activists say that now includes sexual orientation and transgenderism. Strict originalists say the writers of the law clearly intended “sex” to mean male and female……..

……….Sessions went on to explain that the Obama administration overstepped its bounds in ascribing unimagined modern categories to a 52-year-old anti-discrimination law.  Specifically, the former president officially interpreted civil rights legislation to include homosexuality and transgenderism……….

[However, it’s not all good]……….The DOJ offered further assurances that it will enforce modern laws giving special protected class status to gays.

Thus giving them special protections, rights, and privileges – in essence, elevating an affinity for same-sex sodomizing to an elite class above the normal rank and file.  The Left has succeeded in doing this to most all the elements of its coalition, and this manifests in such a broad way that to hold leftist views and to subscribe to leftist philosophy is, in many ways, to have many rights and privileges denied others.  Or, probably more correctly, to not be leftist is to open oneself up for penalties, abuse, denigration, and general second-class status.  The sense that tens of millions of Americans have, that they have become hard-working stooges funding their own tormentors among the self-anointed “better” classes, was one of the largest factors driving Trump’s successful candidacy.  Since the Left will never stop itself from behaving as a new but wholly unworthy aristocracy, Trump will almost certainly have a second term if he wants one.

US House to Votes to Approve 20 Week Abortion Ban……. October 3, 2017

………and “not really conservative” Trump signals his endorsement.  But it’s all for naught, Yertle McTurtle will let it die an inglorious death in the Senate.  No chance whatsoever those great soldiers of conservatism in the Senate like McCain, McConnell, Murkowski, Collins, et. al.,   bearing the general stamp of approval of the establishment “conservative” press, would dare to attach this 20 week abortion ban to a do or die must pass bill like extending the debt ceiling or the Defense budget.

I like this statement of support the much too liberal for the neocon press Trump put out:

The United States is currently out of the mainstream in the family of nations,” the statement declares, “in which only 7 out of 198 nations allow elective abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy.”

Such is the power of the abortion industry in this nation.  Even though most Americans, depending on how the question is put to them, favor much stricter limits on abortion, if not an outright ban, the abortion industry has one party absolutely committed to insuring abortion on demand at any time without apology and you’re paying for it, Mr. Patriarchal Taxpayer, and that party has made all the difference.  On the other side, a majority of Repubniks in national elected office only tacitly oppose abortion, at best, and probably most of those secretly support the democrat take on the matter. After all, if they didn’t, who would invite them to swanky cocktail parties and secure for them multi-million dollar sinecures with a K-Street lobbying firm?

I also like this bit of commentary from the Catholic Ed Morrisey:

That data comes from a 2014 study by the Charlotte Lozier Institute, which studied abortion practices. We are part of a dubious club of nations that includes North Korea, China, and Vietnam, as well as the Netherlands, Singapore, and … oh, Canada. That basically puts us and Canada in league with euthanasiaists and forced-aborters, not exactly dignified company for Americans and Canadians.

Getting this bill through the House might be tough. Getting it through the Senate may be impossible, at least in this session. It will be subject to a cloture vote, which means it will need 60 votes to eventually get to a floor vote on the bill itself. Even if all 52 Republicans stand firm on HR36 — and that’s questionable considering the support for Planned Parenthood from Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski during the ObamaCare repeal efforts — they’d need eight Democrats to avoid a filibuster.

I exaggerated a bit above about Collins and Murkowski (why doesn’t Palin run against her?  Is she too toxic even in Alaska?) having the endorsement of the establishment class, but I can say this with a totally straight face: neither face even a fraction of the withering criticism Trump receives almost constantly from the establishment Repubniks in the conservativish press. It is amazing how butt-hurt these folks still are over the election.  Their sentiments are often indistinguishable from the (rest of the?) statist media.  Thus, the leviathan uniparty.

A 20 week abortion ban would be an eminently sensible restriction, and one that should be politically possible.  I’d be fully in favor of using the “nuclear option” to avoid cloture. But it’s not going to happen.  Sickening, given that every single day abortion persists in this nation brings down the curse and rage of God upon it.  Abortion should be made illegal again, but I don’t see that happening until there is a massive revival/restoration in the culture.

So we’re going to continue murdering 3000+ babies a day for the foreseeable future.

If the “Alt-Right” Wants to “Save the White Race,” Maybe They Should Start Having a Few Babies September 7, 2017

Lots of unsaid assumptions built into that post title – by “alt-right,” I’m referring to the media definition of the alt-right as the pseudo/neo-nazi or openly racialist portion of the far right, which isn’t even right wing, in that many are former Obama voters and Bernie supporters, most are avowed statists, and even worse, collectivists.  They simply have a nationalistic/racialist component to their statist views (as all good Nazis do), and are happy to use the state to purge society of racially/ethnically undesirable elements.  They are also the inevitable reaction to the Left’s use of race and ethnicity relentlessly as tools to gain and hold onto political and economic power.

That’s not to say concerns over immigration and the effect it is having on the political, economic, and cultural future of this nation can simply be dismissed as “racism,” as the statist media constantly tries to do.  There are many points the alt-right brings up which are entirely valid.  But racialism is always destructive, and it is very sad to see many leaders in the Church engaging in it (just practicing their preferred religion when they do).  It also undermines the overall (and entirely just and reasonable) opposition to current US immigration policy, attempts to build a wall or otherwise enforce more sensible immigration laws, in giving the media, on a silver platter, exactly the kind of racialist/white nationalist image they then turn around and tar the entire effort with.  It’s not helpful, and I increasingly wonder whether much of this former leftist “alt-right” isn’t false flag/astroturf.  I mean, who could possibly think a torchlight rally replete with racialist chants would be a good idea?

Nevertheless, Sargon has a pretty good video (language warning, however) pilloring the “alt-right” for lambasting others for not being sufficiently anti-semetic or in favor of white nationalism, while noting that the widespread sterility among white nationalist leaders and rank and file makes their claims to be so very concerned about the fate of the white race just more LARPing from the millennial crowd.  If you’re so worried about the great white ‘Murican race being swamped in a sea of brown, why don’t you settle down, get married, and have a bunch of kids?  And become Catholic, while you’re at it, very possibly saving your immortal soul:

As for me, I just want everyone to become Catholic.  Really, truly Catholic, not pseudo-, post-conciliar Catholic.  I have grave concerns over illegal immigration and extremely high immigration rates in general not out of any racial sensitivity but due to the effect it has on the poorest in our society, leaving them jobless or badly underpaid as they compete against a huge cohort existing in an underground economic status where they can be paid trifling wages that are unjust. There are also many cultural and social factors to consider in continuing mass immigration, especially considering the explosion in muslim immigration into this nation over the past 15 years or so.  I also have concerns over Hispanic Catholics coming to the US, falling into the materalist lifestyle and philosophy here, spiritually starving to death in the Novus Ordo Church, and falling away from the Faith in vast numbers.  I estimate probably 60% of the Hispanics in Irving are either fallen away Catholics or completely converted to protestant sects.

There are also extremely significant national security issues dealing with the unprotected southern border.  Build a wall – the single most cost-effective and efficient mechanism to gain control over the current chaos along the southern border – and then we can talk about sensible immigration policy going forward. But first, the crisis must be dealt with.  Unfortunately, it increasingly seems Trump will not be able to keep his primary campaign promise to build a wall.  If funding is not included in this year’s budget, I’m certain it never will be, at least with Trump as a Republican.  I tell you, I am so done with the Republican party at this point.  I am completely, totally disgusted with them.  They have done everything possible to undermine and oppose Trump at every turn.  After numerous wave elections, the revolt in 1994, the Tea Party movement, with unprecedented control of all three branches of government, all they have brought is failure and capitulation.  The Republican party is 3/4 dominated by secretly or openly leftist, and always corporatist, gadflies. I’m just about sick of the whole mess at this point.  What we have in the US at present are two left-wing parties, one far left and the other center-left.  I increasingly believe the only way forward is to break up at least one of the parties and rebuild the two party system with one or two wholly new parties with very different alignments and bases of support.  Clean out as much of the current self-serving, lobbyist-chasing, money-grubbing crowd as possible.

And on a final, but unrelated note, regarding yesterday’s post on evolution being the seed-bed for the collapse of Christianity, consider the following from another Youtube channel.  How much of what we believe is literally programmed into us through the incredibly powerful indoctrination tool most all (still, sadly) have as the centerpiece of the layout of their living rooms (and often bedrooms, and kitchen, and…….), the TV?  How much of a role has TV played in programming people to accept not just evolution, but things like pseudo-sodo-marriage, abortion, euthanasia, sexual license, et. al.,?  As Father Phil Wolfe says, the best thing you can do with your TV is take a shotgun to it:

A very important update to a previous post, the White Rose Women’s Center benefit dinner featuring Fr. Shannon Boquet of Human Life International has been moved from October 7 – where it was contemporaneous with the 100th Anniversary Fatima Conference in Irving – to November 17.

Location remains the same.  I am so glad to hear this and pray many souls will be able to attend the benefit for this most worthy organization, aiding women contemplating abortion.

Thank you to the kind soul who sent this update notice on to me.  I have idea who it was – I got it anonymously via mail – but thank you.

All other pertinent information about the benefit dinner is at my previous post.
