Great column by Sandro Magister noting the rapid erosion of the formerly non-negotiable principles regarding the sanctity of life in the only Church founded by Jesus Christ Himself. I’ve no time to add much commentary myself excerpt to say, yep, this is exactly right, this is exactly what one would expect to happen given a pontiff like Francis – the Church abandoning her most sacred beliefs in a pathetically false hope of earning the love and acceptance of an implacably hostile world:
And also to note the sad fact that the philosophy professor at the formerly Catholic, now Satanic University of Louvain I covered two weeks ago was indeed sacked for daring to say that abortion is murder:
There has been an uproar over events at the Catholic University of Louvain, which has suspended and finally dismissed one of its philosophy professors, Stéphane Mercier, for having written in a note for his students that “abortion is the murder of an innocent person.”
The matter is not surprising, seeing the track record of this university which is nonetheless endowed with the title of “Catholic,” the hospital of which has for some time been openly practicing euthanasia procedures, “from 12 to 15 per year,” according to the rector of the twin Flemish university of Leuven, the canonist Rik Torfs.
But what is more striking is the substantial approval that the bishops of Belgium have given to the removal of Professor Mercier.
Also startling is the reticence of the newspaper of the Italian episcopal conference, “Avvenire,” which in giving a concise account of the affair – the more complete documentation of which has appeared on the blog Rossoporpora – avoided taking a position, limiting itself to this: “It remains to be understood what is the meaning of what has been stated by the spokesman of the Belgian episcopal conference.” [Wherein the spokesman completely contradicted Catholic Doctrine by calling abortion a “fundamental right.” You can’t get much clearer than that, but the disciples of Francis are apparently hopelessly confused by such a statement]
Not to mention the silence of Pope Francis, who however has not failed on other occasions to call abortion a “horrendous crime.”
There is in effect a significant discrepancy between how the papacy and much of the Catholic hierarchy speak out on abortion and euthanasia today and how they used to speak out.
What during the previous pontificates were “non-negotiable principles” have now become realities to be “discerned” and “mediated” both in politics and in pastoral practice.
The Italian episcopal conference and its newspaper “Avvenire” are perfect examples of this mutation.
In February of 2009, when Italy was rocked by the case of Eluana Englaro, the young woman in a vegetative state whose life was taken when her nutrition and hydration were cut off, the current editor of “Avvenire,” Marco Tarquinio, wrote a fiery editorial, calling that act a “killing”.
While today the climate is different. It should be enough to look at the courteous detachment with which “Avvenire” refers to and comments on the law currently under discussion in Italy on advance healthcare directives, abbreviated DAT, the indications to be given to physicians beforehand on what lifesaving measures to take or not take in case of loss of consciousness.
Go to the link and read how differently the Italian bishop’s conference newspaper “Avvenire” covered euthanasia in 2009, and how it covers it today. Same writer, but much, much more “nuance” now, because the writer obviously understands that Francis believes God lives in the “shades of grey,” which historically had been regarded as the domain of the devil.
But who am I to judge? One man’s God is another man’s devil, I suppose, especially if that man is consumed with leftist ideology.

Back in 1560, when heresy was running wild throughout Europe and the glorious construct known as Christendom was being deliberately and permanently deconstructed by maliciously motivated, self-interested men, His Catholic Majesty Philip II of Spain visited the University of Louvain, to ascertain the degree of orthodoxy being preached and taught there.
So impressed was the great Catholic monarch with what he found at Louvain, he instantly increased the salaries of all professors and teachers there by 50%. Louvain was then, a very few exceptions aside, a true bastion of Catholic orthodoxy.
But that was then, and this is now. The formerly Catholic University of Louvain, which as recently as 80 years ago was turning out such men as Archbishop Fulton Sheen, has since the final revolution within and against the Church in the mid-20th century become a paragon of vice, error, iniquity, and heresy.
In fact, when their administration attacks a lecturer for handing out pamphlets calling abortion what it is – murder – and then declares abortion a “fundamental right,” we have passed beyond heresy and straight into the diabolical, wherein this former redoubt of Catholicism could now very well be appropriately termed the Satanic University of Louvain.
Just more fruit from the most disastrous Council in the history of the Church, Vatican II:
A junior lecturer at the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium is facing backlash from university officials because he distributed a 15-page document with philosophical arguments for calling abortion “murder” to about 100 first-year engineering students.
Stéphane Mercier has not been sanctioned yet, but the authorities declared in a statement on the university’s website that they are assessing the status of his text to determine whether it was actually used as part of his philosophy course. Whether that proves to be the case or not, UCL has dissociated itself from Mercier’s stance against abortion, calling it “contrary to its values.”…….[Well that tells us all we need to know about Louvain, doesn’t it? Being Catholic is contrary to their values. Thanks for clarifying that, we’ll keep that in mind going forward]
……..Tania van Hemelryck, the special adviser to the university president on gender politics, spoke to Belgian television on behalf of the university, saying: “The authorities want to find out the exact status of the text and how it was used during this course, bearing in mind that in any case UCL defends the fundamental right to abortion, and particularly women’s right to choose.”………
………The official statement published by UCL on its website says much the same thing:
“Whatever the outcome of the inquiry, the right to abortion is enshrined in Belgian law and the note that was brought to the attention of UCL is at odds with the values upheld by the university. Conveying standpoints that contradict these values in the framework of a teaching course is unacceptable.”…….
……….And here are the words that provoked media hysteria in Belgium and beyond: “The truth is that abortion is the murder of an innocent person. It is even a particularly loathsome murder, because the innocent in question is defenseless. (…) Nowadays we hear some people saying for example that at a personal level they condemn abortion as being immoral, but that it would never occur to them to make it illegal. Such reasoning is astonishingly absurd, if one bothers to think about it. (…) Just imagine that the same individual should declare that on a personal level, he finds rape really immoral, but that ‘in order to respect every person’s liberty’ (except perhaps that of the victim) it should not on that account be made illegal. Absurd, obviously! Well, if abortion is murder, as we have said, is it not more serious, even, than rape? Rape is immoral, and thankfully it is also illegal. Should not abortion, which is even more immoral, even more so be illegal?” [Good argument. One that cannot be rebutted logically, but only dishonestly framed to elicit an emotional response, so you get what follows……….]
The headlines in Belgium indignantly screamed: “A lecturer at UCL considers abortion to be worse than rape!”
Well guess what? So do I, and so do a whole lot of people who are not so morally enervated and hopelessly diabolically narcissistic that they have not turned logic, reason, and decency upside down to convince themselves that killing 50+ million babies a year worldwide is somehow a morally neutral act.
Now, the primary oversight for the doctrinal/theological content taught at Louvain falls on the Archbishop of Mechelen-Brussels. The current Archbishop is Josef De Kesel, a screaming leftist and protege of that scandalous protector and promoter of boy rapists, Cardinal Godfried Daneels. Who, quite importantly, is also one of the ringleaders of the “St. Gallen Group” that illicitly collaborated to elect Jorge Bergoglio as Bishop of Rome.
It is thus all of a piece, the remaking of the Church into an ineffectual society co-opted by the corporatist forces of transnational globalism as a kind of worldly indifferentist boring pointless NGO continues apace. Oh, it’s wonderful for the connected bishops and priests at the top who obey the diktat of the forces of the world and its master, they get to live an exquisite existence with the only cost being the souls that continue to fall into hell in a torrential blizzard never seen since the Church first came into being. Heck they don’t believe in any of that hoary old stuff anyway, so what’s to lose for them, right? Billions of corrupt corporate dollars and being able to pretend you move with the highest levels of global leadership (though they loathe and snicker at you behind your back), for the cost of a stupid made up eastern cult that was just a slight derivative of others pre-existing for thousands of years – what’s to choose?!?
Unless of course they be wrong, and God and Christ be true, then they are among the men to be most reviled and pitied in all history, right up there with Simon Magus, Luther, Photius, Calvin, Zwinglii, Beza, and all the rest.
Enjoy your new muslim overlords, Europe, you richly deserve them. Guess what, they’ll make abortion so illegal it will beggar the imagination, but you don’t care, because your leftism has always been about hatred of God and His Church. So long as that goal is achieved, you care not a whit for what follows, even if it be hell (which, it will be, figuratively and literally).

So reports have been coming from the Netherlands and Belgium with grim regularity telling of numerous souls being murdered by doctors, against their wills, because the doctors have decided their case is hopeless and that these people deserve to die. Formerly called murder, even genocide, this mass taking of human lives is now dressed up in the mild sounding euphemism of euthanasia.
This is also exactly what people, mostly convicted Christians, warned would happen if states, strapped for cash with massive aging populations and taxpayer funded and government administered health care systems, started “allowing” people to commit suicide by doctor if they wanted to. From an occasional permission it soon morphed into mass use and now appears headed towards something towards compulsory participation.
The Church, of course, has always held a “consistent life ethic,” which declares that thou shalt not murder an innocent no matter how inconvenient or annoying they may be. That ethic once informed thinking throughout the West, but since the West has chosen to pretend God doesn’t exist, that ethic went out the window, first with chemical contraception, then baby murder on demand, and then the murder of the elderly and sick. Some of these people aren’t even particularly sick, which plainly indicates that something like a Brave New World death date of 60, or Logan’s Run “carousel” at 30, may not be the stuff of science fiction anymore.
After all, it’s cheaper and easier for all involved, most especially those government bureaucrats calling the shots, to just kill people at a certain date before they start to get sick, rather than waiting for the endless drain and expense of those nasty old sick people:
In the Netherlands an elderly woman suffering from dementia was held down against her protests as a lethal injection was administered by a doctor. In the days before her “euthanasia” she repeatedly said “I don’t want to die.” The doctor was cleared of wrongdoing.
Another elderly woman in the Netherlands was euthanized due to her supposed “unhappiness” about living in a nursing home. This despite testimony from the staff that she was often “content and friendly.”
Doctors in the Netherlands and Belgium have also routinely euthanized patients with depression. Now, a law to “legalize euthanasia for perfectly healthy people who hold ‘a well-considered opinion that their life is complete’” is being considered in the Netherlands. [Doctors in these nations are just another form of bureaucrat. They work for the government in one form or another. We all know from personal experience just how faultless bureaucracies are, right? Ever had a run in with a bad doctor or out and out quack? I have. Want someone like that given the power of life and death over you?]
In the US, Washington, DC and five states—California, Colorado, Oregon, Vermont, and Washington—euthanasia is legal. Should we be concerned? [In any nation with not only legalized baby murder but a hundred other moral atrocities ongoing constantly with government approval, we should be more than concerned. Terrified, outraged, is more like it.]
Advocates tell us euthanasia allows a patient to “skip the suffering and die with dignity.” Based on this, euthanasia advocates advocates suggest that until we walk in the shoes of someone who wants assistance in dying, who are we to deny them “death with dignity”? The idea that an individual has an “inalienable right” to use their body as they see fit has some appeal. [Notice the similarity in language to the pro-aborts? Notice how they reduce immutable truths, literally conveyed by God, to endlessly nebulous, amorphous things like feelings? There is a reason for that. Logically, what they propose is unacceptable and easily refutable.]
Liz Carr is the creator of the hit British anti-euthanasia play Assisted Suicide: The Musical. Carr grew up with and still suffers from severe disabilities. In her youth she visited some emotional “dark places” where she saw no hope. Born in 1972, Carr feels lucky that euthanasia was not yet on the cultural radar. It is her belief that the movement can encourage disabled individuals to believe their life “isn’t worth living.” [Thank you. People are endlessly susceptible. If they weren’t, multi-hundred billion dollar industries like Madison Avenue would not exist. It is even possible to talk people into wanting to kill themselves.]
In the Wall Street Journal, Sohrab Ahmari conducted a compelling interview with Carr who argues we “don’t know what assisted suicide means or what the consequences are.” We just clap along to a mindless mantra “the right to die, the right to die.”
Why shouldn’t we exercise “self-determination” and choose how and when we die?
Ahmari cautions, “The death-with-dignity case is often based not on the lived experience of people with disabilities, but on the subjective judgments of others.”
“Legalizing euthanasia doesn’t empower you,” argues Carr. “It empowers doctors.”
Doctors that are, in the nations in question, essentially agents of the state. “Oh, but there are review boards to insure there are no abuses.” Review boards can easily be stacked, especially when everyone has been similarly indoctrinated, where everyone or almost everyone has the same biases and the same interests at stake.
This also shows the ubiquitous tendency of left-wing governments and societies towards mass death. They cannot exist without causing mass death. Every single leftist society that has ever come into being has been sustained by the deaths of millions, be they Jews, rural Chinese peasants, Russian kulaks, or unborn babies. Now the elderly and sick are becoming too expensive to fit into the great leftist utopia, so they have to go. Yet we are the Nazis, they tell us daily. The mirror must not get much use in left-wing households.
But the projector sure does.
Who knew the 25th century would look like mid-70s Hyatt Regency lobbies?

Earlier this week, a crazed female politician improbably elected to office proposed a bill that would fine men for such acts as sexual self abuse and impose “restrictions” on vasectomies. While her reasoning in beyond specious and reveals both a deep self-loathing and an immense jealousy of men, and while some aspects would require the erection (so to speak) of a massively invasive totalitarian state literally observing men’s every move in public or private, as a Catholic, I am not, in principle, opposed to much of what she advocates for below. However, the logic behind these proposals is, quite literally, insane, and reveals a very great deal about how divorced from reality left-wing rhetoric has become.
The politician, not incidentally, is from Texas, showing that whatever benefits there are to being in the Lone Star State, we have a disturbing number of crazies:
House Bill 4260, titled “Man’s Right to Know Act,” would require men to pay $100 fee for masturbating each time; require someone seeking a vasectomy, Viagra prescription, or colonoscopy to receive an informational booklet (complete with artistic illustration of each procedure), undergo a digital rectal exam and rectal sonogram and wait 24 hours to get the prescription or procedure; and allow health professionals the right to withhold treatment based on “personal, moralistic, or religious beliefs.”
The bill intentionally draws from anti-abortion laws in Texas, including legislation mandating a 24-hour waiting period for women seeking an abortion and the requirement that during their initial consultation, women receive an error-filled booklet about the risks associated with the procedure.
Hah hah hah you’re soooo clever and funny! What a great way to send up those repressed Christofascists telling women what to do with their bodies!
Of course, you have to completely overlook the fact that, in the case of an abortion, it’s not just the woman’s body, but also the body of a life inside her, that is in question. And that tiny fact not only obliterates the “wit” of this “sendup,” it also makes things like a 24 waiting period seem rather like very much a bare minimum, instead of being some onerous imposition.
The supposed “errors” of the booklet, by the way, are only errors if one takes unsubstantiated and largely disproved pro-abort rhetoric as fact.
So we can see this is just more virtue signaling and point-scoring from the tribe that lives and dies by its standing within the great leftist herd. We can also see how the Left tries to equate the brutal murder by dismemberment or chemical scalding of an infant with a “routine procedure” like a colonoscopy.
And finally note how the radfem tries to portray very minor limitations on the wholesale murder of babies that occurs in our country as seemingly random, clumsy, and unrelated hoops that “good women seeking abortions” must jump through. The truth is, they no better, but have to pretend all objections to abortion are somehow insane.
But what about the fines for self abuse? Leaving aside the fact that monitoring and enforcement would require the creation of a Big Brother like police state, I would not mind at all seeing a broad cultural pushback against the normalization of porn use and self-abuse which has emerged over the last several decades. I also would like to see vasectomies not accompanied by stupid, unnecessary, persecutory procedures, but made completely illegal. Here I think the feminist errs, as I don’t think a lot of men have a burning desire to undergo the procedure, but generally do so only under heavy pressure from their spouse. At least, the 5, ahem, Catholic fathers I knew who had the procedure all done around the same time were more or less pushed into having it done by their wives.
What of Viagra? The commercials make watching most sports impossible, and much of the use is based on want, and not need. My preference would be to see it simply banned. At the very least, how about tying the procreative act, to, you know, procreation, and thus limiting the use of such chemicals – whose long term effects are still largely unknown – to those men in a position to father and responsibly raise young children, e.g., the married? There is also of course a unitive aspect to the act which is also only suitable for marriage.
So, see how reasonable I am? I can even find the good in the most unhinged, unserious proposals from the far left.

As if you need to guess. Planned Murderhood, which exists for no other reason than to be not only the leading baby murderer in the country but also the primary advocate for keeping abortion legal, turned down Trump’s offer to fully fund them at their desired level if they would only stop killing babies. So much for abortion only being “3% of their business,” it is the one non-negotiable activity they perform, their most “sacred” satanic sacrament they adhere to:
Half a billion dollars in federal funding isn’t enough to keep Planned Parenthood from what it does best — abortions. This week, Planned Parenthood proved once again that, for all their talk of “women’s health,” their business IS abortion.
On Monday, The New York Times reported that the Trump administration made an informal proposal to the nation’s largest abortion provider: You can keep your federal funding if you stop taking the lives of unborn children.
PP refused, as abortion services are simply “nonnegotiable.”
“Let’s be clear: Federal funds already do not pay for abortions,” Dawn Laguens, the executive vice president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, said. “Offering money to Planned Parenthood to abandon our patients and our values is not a deal that we will ever accept. Providing critical health care services for millions of American women is nonnegotiable.”
That’s at least the talking point. But money is fungible (as anyone who has ever handled currency ought to understand).
GOP officials, of course, promised relentlessly on the campaign trail that they’ll get taxpayer dollars out from under the abortion giant. It was an issue that found new life in 2015 after undercover videos from the Center for Medical Progress purported to show PP involved in a large-scale fetal tissue racket.
This all begs the question: If Planned Parenthood was really concerned about vital low-cost health services for women, and really thought the organization would not be able to adequately service patients without an enormous taxpayer kickback, why would it put said handouts on the chopping block for something it says is such a negligible part of its entire existence?
Because it’s all a crock……..
…….Given what the public now knows about the kind of operation that Planned Parenthood is running all over the country, and the Republican promises made to voters in the 2016 election cycle, there’s absolutely no reason that they should continue receiving a red cent of public money.
That is, if the courts will allow it. Texas’ attempt to defund Planned Murderhood was rejected by a West Texas Bush ’41 appointed federal district court judge. Texas plans to appeal, but the odds are the courts will reject Texas’ arguments that Planned Barrenhood’s non-abortion services are neither vital nor irreplaceable in the vast majority of the state. Which, of course, is a lie, but whatever it takes to keep the evil leftist sacrament of abortion viable.
This Planned Barrenhood de-funding will be another major test of both Trump and the Republican Congress. In Trump I think it safe to say his commitment to social conservatism remains mostly unproven, and in Congress decades of evidence reveal their social conservative principles to be almost entirely campaign prevarications. So I don’t expect Banned Parenthood to be defunded, but I hope and pray I will be proven wrong.

I’ve had an odd day, so didn’t expect to post, but I saw this and had to share. Does Time Magazine bother to mention that “Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good” is nothing more than a leftist front group intended to provide pseudo-intellectual cover for liberal self-described Catholics to vote democrat, no matter how egregiously the D candidate offends against the Doctrine of the Faith? Do they relate that “Catholics in Alliance” has a tiny and severely aging membership, and that they have been roundly decried by bishops and even the Vatican for spreading falsehoods regarding the Faith? Of course not.
Miraculously, it seems, for this leftist writer, the Truth Our Blessed Lord revealed just happens to align perfectly with his particular brand of leftism, feminism.
But, preach, brother, tell us all about this Jesus fellow we’ve been so mixed up on in the past. I pray you won’t mind if I add my own comments:
Jesus, the great protagonist of this holy season, shows us that life and redemption aren’t achieved through strength and power but by rejecting privilege and taking up the sufferings of the entire human family. [Actually, Christ spoke greatly about religious hypocrisy, but never denounced privilege – such as political or economic power – as such. He denounced the Pharisees because they twisted the true faith and used it to serve their own prurient interests. But being rich or powerful or privileged is not a sin in itself, so long as that wealth or power is turned towards the practice of virtue in sharing it as Christ demands with others]In Jesus, God takes on the fullness of human dysfunction — its disloyalty, its violence, and its terror — to redeem everything. He goes all the way down to bring everyone up. No one is excluded. [No. This is horrifically wrong. Christ did not take ON human dysfunction, in the sense that it corrupted His perfect being as both God and Man. Christ ENDURED human dysfunction, he was the victim of it, but he did not succumb to it, as this writer perversely says. The horrors that can emerge from this fatal misunderstanding of who Christ is cannot be overstated. This is an egregious error far beyond even what the Arians claimed. God is not “dysfunctional.” Sheesh.]
[Here it comes……..] As a white heterosexual Christian man it’s a reminder that if I am to authentically honor the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ this holy season, I must acknowledge and reject the privilege afforded me for the sake of taking the path of Jesus Christ. [And there it is. See my conclusion below. This poor lost soul has made the Truth of Jesus Christ subordinate to his ideology. Those privileges, for instance, should be viewed as gifts God has provided someone – gifts of normal, non-perverse sexuality, gifts of a stable home life as a child, gifts of being inculcated in the Faith (though it appears this one was done badly) – these are things to be cherished and recognized in order to demonstrate our thanks to God for them. How does one show thanks by loathing all that one is and has? That is precisely what SJWs of the feminist type demand of men, especially non-perverse white males. That loathing is the height of presumption and, yes, diabolical narcissism. Of course all sin and all are dependent on God’s Grace for salvation, but that doesn’t mean we have to bemoan whatever goods and privileges God has given us. We must simply, like the good stewards, take these gifts and make them profitable, returning 10 fold or 5 fold on them in the service of God and Holy Mother Church.]
There’s nothing better for me to do this Lent than to abstain and fast from the sexism that too often colors my life. [Speak for yourself. And perhaps you might focus on some of your more significant sins, such as finding nothing wrong in supporting politicians and policies who make baby killing their highest and most sacred belief.]
Now, let’s set the record straight: there are those who are blatantly sexist and there are those who unintentionally perpetuate micro-acts of sexism in their everyday lives. I’m most certainly a sinner, but on my best days, I’m hopefully more of the latter than the former. And perhaps that’s more pernicious in a country where Donald Trump is President. [And now we get to the point. This isn’t about Catholicism, or providing counsel to souls in need, this is about getting democrats elected and defeating Donald Trump – which is the sine qua non of the so-called Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good.]
His election certainly reminds us that sexism still runs rampant in the world’s longest lasting democratic republic. But to pretend that this problem is spread equally throughout the nation is to ignore the reality that some communities and institutions are the greatest offenders. [Republicans and conservatives, we can be sure. But how sexist is it to support the brutal murder of 50,000,000 million babies worldwide, which are disproportionately female (in some countries, over 80% female)? This is nothing but SJW politicking disingenuously and cynically wrapped in religious language.]
As a sinner who does his best every day to follow Jesus Christ, [I think I can safely say, you’re doing it wrong]it’s time to admit that the Christian community runs rampant with sexism, [So having a traditional family with mom at home, dad working, raising kids to do the same, going to church, and opposing abortion are now “sexist.” And the stupid link doesn’t even begin to provide any evidence of this supposed sexism, it’s another opinion piece written by – get this – a rock n’ roll front man] and that — yes — I am a big part of it. All men are. [To attribute a negative characteristic simply on the basis of one’s being – black, white, male, female, whatever – is the height of whatever “-ism” the SJWs purport to oppose. All men are sexist, and we can only redeem ourselves by completely surrendering to the leftist-feminist zeitgeist. Convenient, that. Thus, politics are made the only means of redemption, a complete perversion of the Faith.] That’s the nature of societal sin: no one is truly devoid of responsibility, though some are more responsible than others. [Christ is far less concerned with societal sin, than he is with personal sin. Once again, you reveal how you have TOTALLY subordinated whatever faith you purport to have to your ideological predilections]
I am responsible, and I ashamed. The words of the Psalmist ring in my ears: “Forgive me, O Lord, for I have sinned!” [Get this: ashamed of imaginary sexism, things he isn’t even able to be conscious of, but not of baby murder. Got it.]
………“Rend your hearts, not your garments!” It’s time for me and for the Christian community to reject artificial penance and to open our broken and confused hearts to authentic conversion and to see what it is inside of us that constantly allows us to debase and devalue women. [Again, speak for yourself. And perhaps, consider this (which is huge, and perhaps explains why leftists project so much). And this. This is again naught but a massive guilt trip – vote democrat OR YOU’RE GOING TO HELL!!!!]
[Now here we go, with such totally devastating truth bombs your mind will EXPLODE!!!!] …..M y journey towards an authentic Christian feminism isn’t novel. In fact, it’s a rediscovery of the faith as it was in the beginning. [See, Christianity was always intended to align perfectly with leftist-feminist views, before evil men – like St. Paul, St. John, St. Peter, and, oh yeah, the Holy Ghost, as He inspired all Scripture – ruined it.] Jesus Christ himself was the faith’s first feminist. The great heroes of this holy season are the strong and courageous women who stayed with Jesus through his final hours, while most of his male disciples ran away in fear.
This is really disgusting and egregious. These poor lost creatures never miss an opportunity to co-opt a great Holy Day to advance their agenda.
Here’s a notion our emasculated hero might want to contemplate: this Faith Jesus Christ conveyed is meant to be much larger than your political preferences. Indeed, the Doctrine of the Faith is meant to inform and, most importantly, transform your pre-existing notions, about, say, how wonderfully good and holy it is to murder 125,000 babies a DAY worldwide through elective abortion (Catholics in Alliance being notoriously pro-abort). I’ve radically changed numerous beliefs to conform with the Truth Jesus Christ reveals. THAT is the fundamental transformation that has to take place within each individual heart and mind before this transformation of the culture the author so longs for can even begin to occur. All else is just a fallen human construct, even diabolical, and will end in horror, as all history has shown leftism invariably tends to do.
But what a feeble, pathetic, obvious attempt.

Barbara Bush is headlining a fundraiser for Planned Butcherhood here in Texas. Franklin Graham is not amused:
Franklin Graham is calling out former President George W. Bush’s daughter, Barbara Pierce Bush, for speaking at a Planned Parenthood fundraiser on Thursday, saying that raising funds for the abortion business is like raising money for Nazi death camps.
“Planned Parenthood is the #1 abortion provider in the United States,” Graham wrote in a Facebook post yesterday. “Raising funds for this organization is like raising money to fund a Nazi death camp — like Auschwitz, except for innocent babies in their mother’s wombs!”
The Christian evangelist and son of Billy Graham continued: “Reports say they [Planned Parenthood] perform over 300,000 abortions per year. And this is the organization whose employees were caught on video trying to sell baby body parts over wine. Disgusting.”
Bush will be the keynote speaker at the fundraiser for Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas. Individual tickets to the event cost $150, and sponsorship levels go up to $20,000.
As LifeSiteNews reported, Bush’s company, Global Health Corps, which promotes “health equity,” works closely with Planned Parenthood, which Bush labeled an “exceptional organization.” A senior staffer for GHC is a former board member of Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest and the Hawaiian Islands, and the Pacific Northwest Abortion Fund.
Bush and Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards “are enthusiastic supporters of each other’s work,” The New York Times reported in an article celebrating their alliance.
When it comes to social issues, Bush seems to have imbibed the liberal worldview of former First Lady Laura Bush, who is pro-abortion-on-demand and pro-“gay marriage.”
………Barbara Bush also supported Hillary Clinton’s run for president.
So, I’m an ardent pro-lifer. I know many others who are. I can’t say I know many of those ardent pro-life fathers and mothers whose kids wound up becoming pro-abort. I’m far from sure I know any couples where the husband and wife ostensibly disagree stridently on matters such as abortion and pseudo-sodo-marriage. The point being, this is further evidence whatever slight pro-life stands Bush ’43 took were probably simply for political expedience and not related to some deeply held belief.
It’s more than passing odd that this formerly leading family of the Republican party has so many close and happy associations with ardent leftists. That’s what I mean by self-serving elitist uniparty. They all attend the same institutions, go to the same parties, marry within the group, seek to please the same corporate masters, and wind up believing pretty much the same things.
More on the Bush family’s long-time love affair with contraception and abortion. Yes it’s Mother Jones but there are many other articles from less left-wing sites confirming the same thing, but this one gave the most detail.

A bit more data on the attempts to reduce Cardinal Burke’s formal role and thus influence in the Church, the notorious Albrecht von Boeselager, the man at the center of the controversy within the Knights of Malta for his involvement in the distribution of condoms, has claimed that Cardinal Burke is “de facto” suspended. Well, it’s certainly clear that at this point, with his dismissal by Francis from his former post as Cardinal Patron of the order, Cardinal Burke lacks any clear apostolate or formal role in the Church. He’s also, of course, been shuttled off to Guam. Francis intervened decisively in Boeselager’s favor, not only reinstating a man who had taken gravely immoral actions entirely contrary to the Doctrine of the Faith, but deposing the former leadership of the Knights and instituting direct Vatican control over what had been, throughout its 500 year history, always a lay-led and run organization.
That’s what you call a decisive intervention. There are many prurient reasons for this intervention, not the least of which being the Boeselager’s wealth and their involvement in the often corrupt Vatican bank, but don’t think the issue of contraception did not play a significant role. I’m quite certain it did. In fact, this entire issue may have been orchestrated in order to further isolate and ostracize Cardinal Burke, the most effective leader to date of opposition to Francis, at least publically among the episcopate. The report, via LifeSiteNews:
The Knights of Malta official at the center of controversy over the Order’s Catholic identity and sovereignty says its patron, Cardinal Raymond Burke, has been “de facto” suspended.
Albrecht von Boeselager, a German aristocrat, was removed from his post as Grand Chancellor on the grounds that he violated his promise of obedience. He hadn’t submitted to his superiors’ request that he resign after it was revealed he had overseen the distribution of contraception in the developing world. The Catholic Church teaches that contraception is intrinsically evil.
After Boeslager’s removal caused a kerfuffle, Pope Francis personally stepped in, reinstating Boeselager to his former position. The pope also asked Grand Master Matthew Festing, the order’s highest-ranking official who had removed Boeselager, to resign. This was unusual because the order of Malta is a sovereign state. [It’s also the first time such a demand – and it was a demand, done under great pressure, not a request – has ever been made in the 500 year history of the order.]
The pontiff then appointed a “papal delegate” to run the order.
In comments translated by The Tablet, Von Boeselager told the Archdiocese of Cologne’s website, domradio.de, that delegate Archbishop Angelo Becciu is now fulfilling Cardinal Burke’s role.
Becciu “has the full confidence of the Pope and is his spokesman,” von Boeselager said. [Gee, you figure?] “That means that Cardinal Burke as Cardinal Patron of the Order is now de facto suspended.” [Is that, suspended as Cardinal Patron, or suspended in a more general sense?]
Von Boeselager said it’s a “completely unfounded accusation” that Pope Francis undermined the Order’s sovereignty by demanding Festing’s resignation. [This is BS. All other reports have indicated Francis went on one of his epic tirades when Festing was summoned to the Doma Sancta Marthae and insisted on a most groveling “resignation” on the spot, directing Festing to blame Burke for the entire affair. But spinners gonna spin]
“The Pope acted at the Order’s wish and he took great care that the Order’s sovereignty was in no way violated or impaired,” [as he unprecedentedly violated a sovereign order’s sovereignty] he said. “He asked the Grand Master to step down, his resignation was carried out according to the Order’s regulations and was accepted. The appointment of the Holy Father’s delegate is expressly limited to the spiritual side of the Order and has nothing to do with its activities as a sovereign power.”
We shall see what further action is taken against Cardinal Burke. With this most vindictive and ideological of Bishops of Rome, there is no chance he’s done trying to humiliate him and break his influence.
Something tells me these efforts will backfire, however.

The Kolbe Center for the Study of Creation will be presenting a series of talks at Mater Dei Latin Mass Parish in Irving on Feb. 18-19. I am not certain if the director of the Center, Mr. Hugh Owen, is giving the talks or not. Details are below:
All are invited to attend a seminar presented by the Kolbe Center for the Study of Creation on Creation and Evolution.
This will be a six part presentation on the philosophy, theology, and science behind creation and evolution.
The seminar is free, but a free will offering will be taken up to help cover the cost of this event.
Dinner will be served at 5pm on Saturday with a
suggested donation of $5 for adults; $2-3 per child.
Where: Mater Dei Parish Hall
When: (part 1) Saturday, Feb. 18th: 5-8/9pm
(part 2) Sunday, Feb. 19th: 2-5pm
BTW, in addition to overnight Adoration (TLM at 8p, Adoration starts after, ends before 8a Mass on Saturday) on the FIRST FRIDAY of each month, Mater Dei is experimenting with having Adoration from 1-5p on every Friday. If attendance is sufficient to insure the Blessed Sacrament is never left unattended, it will become a regular thing.
The other upcoming local event is a series of protests to de-fund Planned Baby-Butchery at a couple of locations in the Diocese, to be held from 9-11a at Feb 11. The principle one, to me, is at the baby-murder super center in South Dallas:
Planned Parenthood – South Dallas Surgical Health Services Center
7989 W Virginia Dr, Dallas, TX 75237 (Map & Directions)
Time: 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. on February 11
The other protest is in Plano:
Planned Parenthood – Plano Health Center
600 N Central Expy, Plano, TX 75074 (Map & Directions)
Time: 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on February 11
Note: This event will consist of a prayer vigil. Street parking is available next to Fry’s Electronics on Executive Drive.
I plan to be at the protest in South Dallas. Maybe I will see some of you there.

UPDATE: I added some material below, because there is one thing I forgot about the excerpts below from when I watched them last night. Milo does seriously err, or misrepresent – innocently, I think – the beliefs of two great Doctors of the Church on a matter of great moral import. I’ve made that clear below.
He speaks with the usual reserve and delicate concern for other’s feelings you’ve come to expect.
I know Milo is not everyone’s cup of tea. He’s not always my cup of tea. But he lays truth on a group of California college students harder and faster than the Keystone XL pipeline will be laid now that Obama is gone.
Three good videos below, all excerpts of the talk he gave at Cal Poly (the full talk is here, and much of it is dedicated to condemning the evil of abortion). Those in attendance, primarily students, seemed a bit stunned by the extremely strong condemnations of abortion Milo made. While he has mentioned abortion in previous talks during his college tour, he has not focused an entire hour long presentation on that incredibly important subject. Usually his material is lighter and mixed with more humor, but he was more serious than usual as he should be on this grave matter, and good for him. He also reveals his Catholicism (which appears real, if more than a little problematic if he is being honest about his peccadilloes) in good detail, quoting Doctors (though badly and erroneously – he claims Aquinas and Augustine thought prostitution should be legal, I know Aquinas did not, this is a serious misrepresentation of what Aquinas said) and beginning to form a cohesive framework of Catholic thought. He still has a long way to go, though, and I’m afraid his study of the Doctors – as laudable as that is – comes from second or third sources, people who are “interpreting” the Doctors’ words in pursuit of some agenda, or otherwise misrepresenting them.
I think he deserves a lot of prayers. There is obvious talent and potential here. I still think he oversells his sexual inclinations as a sort of shield against leftist abuse, but perhaps he may be moving towards a celibate existence, if not already there.
Anyhoo, I like Gavin McInnes more and more, but this material was just too spot on for this blog to ignore (CONTENT WARNING: MILO DOES STILL HAVE A BIT OF A POTTY MOUTH AND HE IS DISCUSSING GROWN-UP SUBJECTS. ALSO IF HE MAKES YOU UNCOMFORTABLE SIMPLY FOR WHAT HE IS JUST MOVE ALONG):
Dang right on the next one. I’ll go one further, rampant fornication makes women miserable, crazy, an extreme risk of divorce and yes widely depressed and possibly suicidal. It also puts men at risk of becoming soft and effeminate, flippant, inconstant, lazy, and often poor material for marriage:
And, of course, Margaret Sanger, foundress of that lodestar, that irredeemable symbol, of the cultural left in America, Planned Barrenhood, was a thoroughgoing and hateful racist who wanted to kill almost all black, brown, and poor white babies in her drive to make the world “safe” for bourgeois upper-crust white women:
Margaret Sanger is alive and well today in the social justice warriors, so-called “antifas,” and other core elements of the leftist radical fringe. The same desires she had burn in their souls – to rid the world of anyone who doesn’t think like they do, while reducing everyone else (those in the middle, or unpolitical, or uninformed, etc) to a kind of cloying paternalist sub-human standard.
But Milo you must go two steps further, condemning not just abortion but also contraception and fornication, which create the conditions for mass abortion on demand. Being opposed to abortion without opposing the evils that give rise to it is a bit like the Dutch boy with his finger in the dyke.
