The Left, via it’s control of almost all media, the dominant tech industry, and other allied forces, is attempting to block the circulation of an extremely powerful expose in the New York Post, which reveals how Joe Biden was connected with corrupt Ukranian and Russian business ventures, establishing how the mechanism of influence-buying and bribery was established. After years of peddling, and encouraging the dissemination of, utterly unfounded, and frankly ludicrous claims – invented by Hillary Clinton herself! – regarding the Russian collusion hoax – now the overwhelmingly powerful and influential social media companies Facebook and Twitter are moving to completely block any spread of this evidence of massive democrat corruption anywhere on their sites. The entire New York Post twitter site has been suspended, as have those of Jack Posobiec, Trump White House Spokesperson Kayleigh McEnany, and many other influential Trump-supporters. Well, maybe a barely-updated blog with a smattering of readers will escape their notice, and can do a tiny part to help keep this important revelation in the public sphere.
Probably all readers are already aware of both the original scandal and the attempted cover-up by the democrat/statist/media/corporatist axis, but I thought I’d provide a reminder or two that Google and Twitter have been telling us for years that they intend to do everything in their power to prevent the re-election of President Donald Trump, and thus use their power, in a most elitist, aristocratic way, to thrwart the will of the people. Without the repeated attacks of the Russia collusion hoax, the subsequent failed impeachment, the Chinese-Communist Party created Wuhan flu, the George Floyd directed/planned riots/information op, and a thousand other cuts, Trump would be re-elected with a massive majority. Even with all these attacks, and in spite of what extremely dubious polls say, the democrats are behaving as if this election still very much hangs in the balance. So, they are now using their monopolistic power to prevent accurate revelations from being made about the corrupt and mentally failing Joe Biden in an effort to help insure his election. They told us they were going to do this 4 years ago, and have been telling us ever since, by banning Alex Jones, Gavin McInnes, Nick Fuentes, Lara Loomer, and scores of other Trump supporters off their platforms over the past 2 years. One of the founders of Google not only said he found Trump’s election horrifying, he said Google would do all in their considerable power (with billions from communist China certainly helping) to prevent it ever happening again:
An entire laptop worth of data, almost certainly belonging to the drug-addled and pampered Hunter Biden, was left at a Delaware computer repair shop some time ago. The owner of the shop made a copy of the hard drive contents before turning the laptop over to the FBI, which surely bleached the hard drive immediately upon receipt. The contents were turned over to Rudy Giuliani, a stalwart ally of Trump’s. These are only the first in what will likely be an ongoing series of extremely damaging revelations going right up to election day.
Whether it will be enough, with the entire deep state corruptocrat apparatus in and out of government running cover for Biden, to an even greater degree than they did for Hillary in 2016, to see Trump through to re-election is up in the air, and also up to us. Vote early and at least as often as your demonrat neighbors. But more importantly, pray, pray for our nation, our Church, and our president, that the most reliably conservative and, frankly, Christian (in his policy) president this nation has seen in a century or so may be re-elected, and his enemies – who haven’t tried to hide in the slightest that they most definitely seem themselves as our enemies – may be vanquished, exposed, and driven from their seats of power.
And after that re-election, may there also be a reckoning for those corrupt, turncoat Republican leaders in the House and Senate, like Jim Jordan and Mitch McConnell, who have aided and abetted the monopolist social meda congolmerates in their efforts to shut down the rights of free men and women while protecting the interests of a narrow, incompetent, and most inaptly named elite. These traitors have helped push this nation to the brink of civil war and caused untold misery by their constant support for their corporate donor overlords. I’ve had more than enough of it. And no self-interested video from Ben Shapiro, apologizing for the corporate oligarchy, is going to change my mind.
The Nightmare of 2020 Continues: Local Traditional Catholics Gird Your Loins for Heartbreaking News October 12, 2020

[EDIT] – I substantially reworked the beginning of this post immediately after posting it. It’s deliberately more circumspect than the initial version, due to my own re-consideration.
After the crushing news of a priest participating in vile acts upon the very Altar of Sacrifice of Jesus Christ in the Archdiocese of New Orleans, I am heartbroken to relate that local Catholics, particularly those of a traditional bent, are facing revelations along a similar line. I cannot go into details in public now about the specifics, but pray now for all involved, including ourselves. Yet another cross to bear, for those who are already weighted down under a crushing load. I provide this post simply as a warning to start praying now to steel your hearts for further bad news.
For now, Taylor Marshall rightly expresses his outrage over the revelations from Pearl River, LA. I do not know if he is aware of the local scandal at this point, or not, but it seems to me that he might be, just based on a few things he says below.
Wheels have come off, and that right hard. Something has gone very wrong, and many of the laity sense it. Of course, much of this is due to the hierarchy’s generally cowardly response to COVID – heck, their cowardly leadership going back decades on essentially all matters of moral import. How many dioceses are still shut down, or largely shut down? How much Grace was missed from millions of Masses cancelled worldwide? How many priests have been given, or forced to endure, far, far too much idle time in which satan can work his evil?
Lord, what is the deal with this two thousand and twentieth year of Your Incarnation?!? Pray, let us not also be forced to bear the stealing of an election in this country, as we go through the most concentrated and bald-faced gaslighting campaign in world history! Have mercy on Your people, Lord! We know we have sinned, and continue to do so with a maniacal ferocity. Please, may Your mercy exceed Your justified wrath at this nation and Church that have so obviously and deliberately turned their backs on You. Please give us the strength to weather the coming storms. Please may Your Grace keep us and our children in the Church in spite of all the failings of those who have been given the infinite gift of a clerical office.

I know this dates from about 10 days ago, but I haven’t commented on it, so it can’t be said to have been done (watch out for the evangelical trolls in the comments at the link – don’t they know that evangelical protestantism is dead, the millenials totally abandoned their WWJD bracelets for bi-curious lifestyles and diabolical social media narcissm?).
So what’s my comment to retired Archbishop Pawel Lenga calling Francis an usurper and a heretic? If the shoe fits………..and those look like 9 1/2s to me.
I’ll throw in a bit more commentary as we go along:
Catholic Archbishop Jan Lenga, the former head of the Diocese of Karaganda, Khazakhstan and now retired in Poland, was ordered to stop delivering sermons and speaking with the media because of his frequent statements that Pope Francis is a “heretic” spreading “untruths and sins” and “leading the world astray.” [check, check, and double check?]
Archbishop Lenga has rejected the order to be silent, issued this month by Polish Bishop Wieslaw Mering, because no one in the Polish church apparently has the authority to silence him [because he apparently belongs to a religious order of papal right? I’m not sure on the circumstances]
Lenga belongs to a religious order, the Congregation of Marians of the Immaculate Conception, and is living as a guest of the order in Lichen, Poland. He reportedly is only subject to an order from the Pope.
“Christ gave me authority through the church to proclaim the truth, and I’ll do so as long as I live,” said Lenga, 69, as reported by Crux.com. “I won’t yield to degradation by those whose own statements and actions are entangled with heresy and sectarianism.”
“What right do they have to recall what pertains to the church when they themselves have never upheld it?” he said. [Wow. Preach it, brother. I guess Lenga is apparently the honeybadger archbishop, because he don’t give a —-. That, and everything he says is true about all but perhaps 5% of bishops, and I’m being generous]
In a Feb. 25 interview with Gloria TV, Archbishop Lenga said his critics should “form their own church, rather than usurping power in the Catholic Church.” [But that’s not how the Left works. As Iowahawk brilliantly established several years ago, the Left works by invading a healthy organization, infecting it with Leftism like a virus, killing it from the inside out, and then parading around in its desiccated husk demanding respect. The Left will continue to occupy and attempt to destroy the human element of the Church so long as it perceives the Church as having any cultural cache and ability to influence people to its ends. Once the Church or any other organization has been destroyed to the point of uselessness, the Left will then, sometimes, depart. But sometimes they leave agents behind to make sure it can never resurrect to become a threat. The Left is an endlessly jealous religion that brooks no competition whatsoever. Thus, our choice is, drive them out by hook or crook, or see the human element of Holy Mother Church essentially destroyed.]
Archbishop Lenga has “co-signed several letters urging Pope Francis to clarify marriage and family teachings after the pope’s 2016 encyclical ‘Amoris Laetitia,'” reported Crux.com. “He also signed a May 2019 ‘Declaration of Truths‘ alongside U.S. Cardinal Raymond Burke.”…….[and many other worthy Churchmen and laity]
…….. In a book-length interview on YouTube, Archbishop Lenga said he still recognizes Benedict XVI as the Pope; Benedict resigned in February 2013, the first pope to do so in nearly 600 years. Lenga also stated he does not include the name of the “usurper and heretic” Francis in his Mass prayer intentions. [I’m not real hung up on whether Francis is the “real” pope or not. We could argue forever and none of us are going to make the call, unless there is a future Pius XIII among the readers, in which case, hook me up when you get to Rome!! The fact is, Francis has the title and the position and virtually everyone responds to his authority, so he is, for all practical purposes, the pope. I read the book about Benedict still being kind of a pseudo-pope, and I wasn’t exactly convinced. I believe he is the Pope, just the worst one ever – but only so far. His successor may be even worse. The fact that Benedict has stubbornly refused to die (thank you, God!) has prevented Francis from enacting many of the travesties he has desired to enact, just as PBXVI and Cardinal Sarah very adroitly and effectively cut the knees off of the “Amazonian synod” (sponsored and wholly funded by the German episcopal conference, which will say or do anything to keep that sweet, sweet church tax money coming)]
“Bergoglio [Pope Francis] has not confirmed himself in the faith and is not passing that faith to others, he is leading the world astray,” said Archbishop Lenga, as reported in The Tablet. “He proclaims untruths and sins, not the tradition which has endured for 2000 years.”
“He proclaims the truth of this world, which is precisely the truth the Devil,” said the archbishop. [Well that’s pretty harsh, but it is also not untrue. However, playing devil’s advocate since he was brought up, could not the same be said, to varying degrees, about the past 5 predecessors of Francis? What was Paul VI’s laying aside of the papal tiara, and declaring the Church ready to submit to the “wisdom” of the United Nations?]
In a Jan. 20 interview on Polish television, according to Crux.com, Archbishop Lenga “said ‘many bishops and cardinals’ lacked a ‘deep faith’ and had adopted ‘an attitude of betrayal and destruction’ by seeking to ‘correct Christ’s teaching,’ adding that current confusion in the church indicated ‘the Antichrist is here.'” [Wow, as I said, he’s really the honeybadger archbishop, but the Church desperately needs men willing to speak the Truth, and the whole Truth, unadulterated and without infection by Leftism or sops to the world and its lies and evils. Francis’ predecessors have been less direct counters to the Truth of Jesus Christ than weak men more afraid of offending the world than God. Francis is the first pontiff to directly attack and undermine the Doctrine of the Faith in a direct, deliberate, and systematic way. That is why comparisons between Francis and amoral “Renaissance popes” or the horrid men who occupied the office in the 800-900s is non sequitur and facile. Those men may have been personally immoral, but they never attacked the Doctrine of the Faith in a consistent and systematic manner, as Francis has done. Indeed, some of them defended the Faith heroically, at times. We have to come to the sad, heart-breaking realization that man is actually a fervently religious man, just one who worships a different religion and a false god. Indeed, he is using his ill-gotten office to proselytize – which means to aggressively promote a religion, or even shove a belief down the throat of another – for his false religion. He doesn’t mind proselytism at all, he just hates Catholics proselytizing, as he recognizes it as a threat to his own religion.]
I could go on, but I’ll stop. In short, Francis is a very, very bad man, but he was also inevitable, given that the vast majority of Catholics today are adherents to the religion of secular/materialist modernism, which is just another variant of Leftism, especially within the clergy and episcopate. Add to that most national episcopates being wholly addicted to government money, and it was actually a great blessing of God that we didn’t have a Francis or worse much sooner, before the traditional resistance had developed some cohesion and, I think and pray, momentum.
God bless Archbishop Lenga! I don’t know if he’s a bit too strong in his language and assessments but the Church desperately needs much more clarity and leadership right now.
Faithful Catholics Will Be a Major Target of the Great Internet Purge August 22, 2017

The Googleocalypse is well underway. Leftists enormously resent the great success right-wing (and, to a much lesser extent) Christian apologists/arguers are having on the internet. In several internet media, perhaps most, it is the Left which has lost the precious cultural cache (one the Left itself carefully crafted) of being on the hip, cool, and “with it” side, while facets of the Right – or at least cultural/political rejection of the Left – has gained much of that cache. The Left appears to many especially young internet users to be nothing but joyless scolds and endlessly aggrieved nutters. Even more, the Left is well aware of this, both how they come across, and how they fail to convince others, especially more and more young (primarily male) people. This right wing prominence on the internet and, especially, some forms of social media, is perceived by the Left to have been a primary source of their eschatological disaster – the election of Donald Trump.
But rather than confront both their failed, destructive beliefs, and their failed, boring tactics, the Left, controlling virtually all the academy, virtually all corporate media, and the vast majority of senior management at most all corporations, and especially high-tech ones, is resorting to its favorite tactic – winning the game by denying the other side the ability to play.
It has been obvious for months that working through their control of monopolistic entities like Facebook, Twitter, Google, and even further down deep into companies with control over internet infrastructure, the Left is attempting to purge virtually all right wing content off of social media and, eventually, the entire internet if at all possible. De-funding has been going on for months with Youtube removing ad revenues from tens of thousands of right wing, libertarian, or simply anti-leftist content creators. Further steps are underway that will basically make many anti-left Youtube channels all but impossible for the public to view.
Even more, working in concert with fabulist leftist agitation organizations like the Southern Policy Law Center and Pro Publica, Google and others plan to create a hit list for what will considered “offensive,” and thus ban-able, speech. The SPLC list is already infamous for its entirely political in nature (i.e., right wing = “hate speech”) and for its grouping of very mild, mainstream right-of-center organizations with supposed Nazis and other extremists. Thus the Family Research Council gets labeled as an extremist group, and thus may fall under Google’s ban. What the ban means is that sites so listed will initially not show up on search engine results, while opponent’s sites will (so, instead of getting the Family Research Council, you’ll get a huge number of hits attacking them, or from groups like the Sodom Human Rights Campaign). Even more ominously, in creating these new, hidden, and incredibly politically biased “rules,” Google and companies like GoDaddy and other internet hosting services will simply remove the “offending” content from the web. They will simply cease to exist.
As I said, this campaign is already well underway. The very mild and mainstream Christian Post had most of its videos demonetized by Youtube last night for apparently “extremist” content. And that is just the beginning.
For instance, The Remnant just experienced a wicked hit job by a local TV station due to their being ludicrously listed on the SPLC list of “hate groups.” They are so flagged by the SPLC – as are a huge number of other Christian organizations – because The Remnant preaches the truth of Jesus Christ, which is that sodomy is always and everywhere wrong and marriage between people of the same sex is an impossibility and a horrific offense against God. Thus, they – and I – are “homophobic” and guilty of “hate speech.” It is incredible to have to face the fact that the nationI was born in, the supposed land of the free, in its powerful interests, at least, now defines being a Christian as being n amoral monster.
This entire effort is entirely politically motivated. The Left is losing arguments all over the internet, and as they become more and more extreme, of necessity, tilting at non-existent windmills of alleged bias and racism, they are turning off more and more people (thus the omnipresent tag line, “that’s how you got Trump”). Thus, there is a powerful motivation to utterly silence their opposition. Even more telling, however, is that the leftist viewpoint is simply the default view of the vast majority of employees, and still more among the management, at the vast, vast majority of Silicon Valley corporations, as the James Damoore episode reveals. These people are so extreme in their views, and have inculcated themselves in such a deep ideological bubble for so long (and have been so poorly taught, by deliberate act), that huge swaths of people at Google, Facebook, and other very powerful, highly influential internet-related corporations simply have no conception of a viewpoint other than their own. They cannot fathom someone arriving at different conclusions, unless that person is very wicked and possessed of hideous ulterior motives – such as all the -isms with which the Left constantly labels its opponents. As such, these companies, in trying to eliminate “hate speech” will always have a profound bias in favor of leftist views and against any views contrary to leftism.
Taken together, this spells a massive plot against “free speech” and any attempt to save this rapidly faltering republic. We are yet to see how far this effort will go, or what kind of opposition will emerge, but as this key article makes clear, the structure of this pogrom against supposedly “hateful” thought is being created, implemented, and propagandized for entirely by leftists. That it will end up almost entirely targeting conservatives, libertarians, and Christians (but not muslims, oh no!, not them, they are a vital part of the leftist coalition and the religion which the Left will happily adopt when the time comes) is a fait accompli. All that is in question now is the opposition that will emerge and the effect that opposition will have. Yes, some radical leftists advocating violence will probably be banned as well, at least at first, mostly for cover. As the Youtube example has already amply demonstrated, however, we can expect anti-left speech to be demonetized, blocked from search results, or outright deleted at 10 to 100 times the rate of leftist “hate speech.”
It is entirely possible that as this program proliferates, many of your favorite blogs/Catholic websites may simply disappear. Certainly those that use blogspot, a Google product, are at particular risk. If this effort at banning certain kinds of anti-left speech is successful in its start, however, it is possible that the effort will spread wider and wider and eventually take in most if not all your favorite trad-Cath sites, because every single one of us is a horrid heretic spouting damnable blasphemy against the sexular pagan religion. We could all be targets.
Two brief thoughts as I wrap this up: if you have a Catholic blog, and the content is important to you, I would suggest backing up the content on hard drives or other memory devices you control periodically from now on. You never know when the day will come that you try to log into your blog or website and it simply no longer exists.
Secondly, more and more I am coming to the conclusion that, in toto, the internet/world wide web whatever you want to call it has been a disaster for mankind. Yes it has brought many benefits, but it has brought incredible moral, cultural, and now political calamities in its wake. The porn epidemic alone is probably enough to damn the internet forever. But that’s really just one small issue. The government – and service providers – can turn your phone into a spy microphone and camera. If you use an Android as I do Google knows where you are and what you do virtually every moment of every day. More and more, it appears that the powers that be want to suborn the internet from being an empowering tool for the masses into a tool of unprecedented technological repression.
It is impossible to quantify the good versus the bad of the internet, and yes I am a hypocrite as present as even as I see the internet more and more as a great net evil, I have no plans to stop using it. Nevertheless, this thought is rather new to me and as it takes hold (or is refuted by wiser souls) I shall have to consider what the appropriate response will be. It is very difficult to live these days totally offline, especially if one wants to homeschool, where so much depends on internet connectivity. That’s scary, and brings to mind chapter 13 of the Apocalypse.
If you have followed these developments, do you think I am on target, or am I doing my best chicken little impersonation? I find this effort extremely chilling, and given the success the Left has had in driving alternate viewpoints out of the academy and the media, why should we suppose they will not succeed in the broader field of the internet?

Another Bomb Drops on Atonement in San Antonio March 8, 2017

As I posted in January, popular pastor Fr. Christopher Phillips was removed by Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller rather suddenly and to the great shock and dismay of the people of the Anglican use Atonement Parish in San Antonio. Many could not fathom why the Archdiocese would take this action. There has been some speculation that it could have been due to Atonement seeking to join the Ordinariate and therefore a turf war over ownership of the really fabulous physical plant of the parish began. Having said that, and having heard very impassioned (and detailed) complaints against a certain Deacon James Orr from current and former parishioners of Atonement going back some time, I have wondered, largely to myself, whether or not an abuse allegation was not somehow involved.
Now, something has emerged regarding retired Deacon James Orr that could have been the instigation behind the San Antonio Archdiocese’s intervention at Atonement Parish. I have heard very troubling reports from family and others who have been a part of Atonement in the past regarding this deacon’s behavior around pre-teen and teenage boys. When I queried someone involved in the parish back in January, who seemed to have some first hand knowledge of the removal of Fr. Phillips, whether this matter of Deacon Orr could have played a part in the situation, this individual rather bluntly derided the idea.
But then there’s this:
I have strong indications from a confidential source who works in the Archdiocese that this may not be the only abuse complaint made against Deacon Orr. Others, of a more recent nature, may be forthcoming.
This puts a very different spin on the dismissal of Fr. Phillips. I feel more confident in coming forward with what I have heard for years, from people I know extremely well and explicitly trust, which is that Deacon Orr routinely had inappropriate relationships with young boys at the parish, involving, at the least, what some parents viewed as encouragement of alienation from their family and subsequent provision of financial support on the part of the Deacon when these boys had a final falling out with their parents and moved out of the family home. Some of these relationships were short, others have persisted for years. Some very pointed complaints regarding Deacon Orr’s activities have been made to Father Phillips , again, going back years. I was certainly not a party to any of those conversations, but I know at least some people associated with Atonement felt that Phillips failed to adequately address these concerns and may have even given the impression of dismissing them. Through it all, Phillips steadfastly defended this deacon.
This is the situation as I understand it, as has been related to me numerous times from multiple, independent sources.
I should stress that most people at Atonement have a great love for Father Phillips and continue to support him. But I would be remiss in not bringing up the very serious and mutually substantiating concerns of a minority whose complaints generally centered around Deacon Orr.
I do not know the specifics of the allegation made in February of this year. From what I understand, none of the inappropriate behavior of which I have been aware (as I describe above) ever degenerated to the level of actual physical abuse. I would like to caution everyone not to engage in either excessive demonization of Deacon Orr nor excessive defenses of Fr. Phillips in attacking those who have felt they have had very legitimate concerns for years, and whose concerns now seem to be amply justified.
We’ll have to see how this shakes out, but I was always a little suspicious that the Archdiocese of San Antonio would make a naked power play for several million dollars worth of real estate without some serious complaint behind them to back them up. This appears to be it. That doesn’t mean an ideology is not being served. That may well be the case, but it could be there were situations ongoing that had to be addressed. It’s difficult to say at this point.
PS – Some will say that the Archdiocese moved against Phillips in January, before this allegation was formally made in February. But I would be a hefty sum the Archdiocese knew of the coming allegation before it was officially made, and that may explain the timing.
Non Sequitur But Awesome: Massive New Oil Discoveries in Texas November 17, 2016

Two massive new oil discoveries in West Texas, to the tune of nearly 30 billion barrels, have now increased Texas’ likely recoverable reserves to around 100 billion barrels, putting the state in the same ballpark of recoverable reserves as such petrochemical giants as Iraq and the UAE. Massive recoverable deposits in shale beneath the already heavily produced Permian Basin are coupled with a new find in an area long considered unsuitable for oil fields, the Davis Mountains region of far West Texas. That’s great news for a part of the state that has long been economically depressed and very sparsely populated.
Anyhoo, good news for the oil patch, which always has a spillover effect on the entire economy of the state. There will be – God willing – a lot of very good paying jobs and careers opened up by this, for the people most ignored and left behind in our free trade manufacturingless economy; blue collar whites, the same people largely responsible for electing Trump:
The US Geological Survey said Tuesday that it assessed what could be the largest deposit of untapped oil ever discovered in America.
An estimated average of 20 billion barrels of oil and 1.6 billion barrels of natural gas liquids are available for the taking in the Wolfcamp shale, which is in the Midland Basin portion of Texas’ Permian Basin. [But reserve growth may see this find exceed 20 billion barrels by a large margin, if it is economically recoverable]
Based on a West Texas Intermediate crude oil price of $45 per barrel, those deposits are worth about $900 billion.
US oil exploration companies have flocked to the superrich Permian Basin in recent years and used shale-drilling technology to create an oil boom that simultaneously helped trigger a price crash two years ago. The count of active oil rigs fell with prices, but has risen over the past few months, mostly in the Permian. Bloomberg noted that the Wolfcamp, where this deposit was found, has been one of the primary targets of shale drillers.
“The fact that this is the largest assessment of continuous oil we have ever done just goes to show that, even in areas that have produced billions of barrels of oil, there is still the potential to find billions more,” Walter Guidroz, program coordinator for the USGS Energy Resources Program, said in a statement.

The Houston oil exploration company Apache has made one of the biggest U.S. oil and gas discoveries in years, finding the equivalent of more than 15 billion barrels of oil in a relatively unknown quadrant of West Texas’s Permian Basin, the company said Wednesday………
………..Apache said it’s new field holds more than 3 billion barrels of oil – nearly the equivalent of an entire year of U.S. crude production – and 75 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, making it the company’s biggest U.S. discovery ever and one of its most important worldwide. The field, which sits in the western subsection of the Permian known as the Delaware Basin, surpasses Apache’s gas finds in British Columbia of more than 50 trillion cubic feet in 2012 and of about2 trillion cubic feet in Egypt’s Qasr field in 2003.
Man, that is literally middle of nowhere, Texas. Between Fort Stockton and Van Horn is one of the most sparsely populated regions of the entire lower 48.
This is also potentially extremely good news for US energy independence. While we presently import very little oil and gas from the Mideast, we do import quite a bit from other sources. That’s a huge outflow of money, and always a potential security risk. Fortunately, our number one oil provider, Canada, rarely gets frisky.
A nice, long, 30 year oil boom would surely be a wonderful thing for lots and lots of people. At least with Obama leaving office and no Shillary we won’t have to worry much about an EPA-induced termination of fracking, which is behind all these discoveries.

I was stunned to read in the article excerpted below, that 31 priests have been murdered in Mexico in the past 10 years. The killings have most often been associated with the drug cartels, which are also, not coincidentally, tightly associated with the same Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) that instigated the original Cristiada under communist President Plutarco Elias Calles in the 1920s. Tensions have risen markedly between the PRI and the Church in recent years, as the PRI has legalized abortion in Mexico City and is atttempting to impose pseudo-sodo-marriage on a quite strongly opposed Mexican populace.
Three priests were murdered in Veracruz this past week, and the PRI-run government there engaged in a smear campaign against the priests, strongly implying they had been engaged in something nefarious and earned their demise. The people would have none of this, as these priests were too well known as good and pious men, relatively speaking, for such an accusation stick. Of course, in the original Cristiada, the PRI-run government accused priests and religious of all manner of immoral acts and perversions, engaging in the time-honored left-wing practice of psychological projection. Amazing to see how little has changed in almost 100 years:
Mexico’s Roman Catholic Church on Monday harshly criticized what it called a campaign to smear three priests murdered in less than a week by suggesting the victims had been involved in questionable behavior.
The outrage came in response to a state prosecutor’s allegations that two of the dead clerics had been drinking with their killers beforehand and media reports suggesting the third had last been seen with a young boy. [This kind of guilt-by-insinuation has been a hallmark of the PRI since its inception in the dark days of 1917. Of course, the PRI was taught much of its tradecraft by the more radical elements of the Lodge in the US]
“In these cases it has become clear that state governments that cannot handle the drug cartels are criminalizing the victims, depicting some as drunks and another as a pedophile, making it look like the crimes were not related to drug cartels but because of some immoral conduct,” said the Rev. Hugo Valdemar Romero, spokesman for the Catholic Archdiocese of Mexico City.
“To physical death they are adding moral assassination, slandering the priests and holding them up to ridicule,” Romero said, “and that has caused deep indignation in the church,” Romero said.
Two of the slain priests were shot to death in Veracruz state last week and their bodies dumped on a roadside. On Sunday officials confirmed that the other priest had been shot to death in Michoacan state after being abducted……..
………Parishioners in the Veracruz city where the two priests were killed have also said they were skeptical of the prosecutor’s account and suspected an attempt to quickly shelve the case.
Romero said of the government, “the least we expect is a public apology.” [Since I first read this article on Saturday, and when I accessed it today, it appears to have changed. It formerly included a statement from the prosecutor’s office largely retracting the nasty implications first made against the priests. That text appears to be missing from the article now]
It is unclear whether drug gangs were directly involved in last week’s killings, though most attacks on priests in Mexico in recent years have occurred in areas plagued by cartel violence. [And most areas plagued by cartel violence are led by the PRI, where government officials willingly accept heavy bribes to use the power of the state to help enforce the will of the cartel]
Prosecutors have suggested the robbery of a couple hundred dollars in church collections may have been a motive in the Veracruz killings.
But Cardinal Francisco Robles Ortega [of Guadalajara, one of the best Mexican prelates] of the western state of Jalisco said priests there have been subjected to extortion demands, a common practice among drug cartels in Mexico.
Mexico’s Catholic Media Center says 28 priests have been killed in Mexico since 2006, not counting last week’s slayings. It says Veracruz, Guerrero and Mexico states are the most dangerous for priests; along with Michoacan, they are some of the state with the worst drug-cartel problems.
The original article also spoke of the growing conflict between Church and state over such matters as pseudo-sodo-marriage, but that apparently was also judged inconvenient and so was flushed down the memory hole, too.
This is the danger of electronic media, it is subject to endless revision at the behest of political, economic, and cultural elites, becoming little more than a tool for propaganda, or at least the suppression of embarrassing evidence.

……but, apparently – at least publicly, which is really what matters – it is.
The Remnant and Catholic Family News have published what promises to be the first installment in a lengthy accusation and denunciation of Francis and his pontificate. It was published Monday, but unfortunately I only saw it today. I am also about out of time, but may cover this more tomorrow.
As Steve Skojec noted, when one starts to catalog Francis’ apparently heterodox statements, dubious pronouncements, grave prudential errors, and general assault against the Faith all in one place, it quickly becomes stupefying. Even with a first installment of 2300 words, so much more could have been said, which is all the more terrifying. On almost a daily basis, Francis says or does something to cause grave scandal and undermine the Faith as practiced for centuries. In terms of undermining of Doctrine and giving scandal to millions, Francis is, most likely, the single most damaging pope in the history of the Church.
One particularly revealing portion of the accusation, which may be its most important part, was the noting of the manifest failure of the Catholic episcopacy to publicly challenge some of the more egregious actions of this pontificate and the effect they are having on Holy Mother Church. We seem sheep without shepherds, a crew adrift in a raging hurricane with all the officers not only distracted and incompetent, but with many in a deranged lunacy deep in the bowels of the ship pulling out the scuttlecocks! I excerpt a few bits from the introduction to the accusation below, but the whole thing is worth reading. If you’ve do read it, or already have, bear in mind so very much more could have been included. That fact alone gives us a very clear idea of just what we are dealing with.

Your Holiness:
The following narrative, written in our desperation as lowly members of the laity, is what we must call an accusation concerning your pontificate, which has been a calamity for the Church in proportion to which it delights the powers of this world. The culminating event that impelled us to take this step was the revelation of your “confidential” letter to the bishops of Buenos Aires authorizing them, solely on the basis of your own views as expressed in Amoris Laetitia, to admit certain public adulterers in “second marriages” to the sacraments of Confession and Holy Communion without any firm purpose of amending their lives by ceasing their adulterous sexual relations.
You have thus defied the very words of Our Lord Himself condemning divorce and “remarriage” as adultery per se without exception, the admonition of Saint Paul on the divine penalty for unworthy reception of the Blessed Sacrament, the teaching of your two immediate predecessors in line with the bimillennial moral doctrine and Eucharistic discipline of the Church rooted in divine revelation, the Code of Canon Law and all of Tradition.
You have already provoked a fracturing of the Church’s universal discipline, with some bishops maintaining it despite Amoris Laetitia while others, including those in Buenos Aires, are announcing a change based solely on the authority of your scandalous “apostolic exhortation.” Nothing like this has ever happened in the history of the Church. [Not even the protestant revolt cum heresy or the Arian heresy were this severe. Never before in the 2000 year history of the Church has a reigning pontiff so publicly, so repeatedly attacked and undermined the Sacred Deposit of Faith in anything remotely like so comprehensive and relentless a manner]
……….Yet, almost without exception, the conservative members of the hierarchy observe a politic silence while the liberals exult publicly over their triumph thanks to you. Almost no one in the hierarchy stands in opposition to your reckless disregard of sound doctrine and practice, even though many murmur privately against your depredations. Thus, as it was during the Arian crisis, it falls to the laity to defend the Faith in the midst of a near-universal defection from duty on the part of the hierarchs.
Of course we are nothing in the scheme of things, and yet as baptized lay members of the Mystical Body we are endowed with the God-given right and the correlative duty, enshrined in Church law (cf. CIC can. 212), to communicate with you and with our fellow Catholics concerning the acute crisis your governance of the Church has provoked amidst an already chronic state of ecclesial crisis following the Second Vatican Council.
Private entreaties having proven utterly useless, as we note below, we have published this document to discharge our burden of conscience in the face of the grave harm you have inflicted, and threaten to inflict, upon souls and the ecclesial commonwealth, and to exhort our fellow Catholics to stand in principled opposition to your continuing abuse of the papal office, particularly where it concerns the Church’s infallible teaching against adultery and profanation of the Holy Eucharist.
This cry of the heart has raised great umbrage in certain quarters (the typical ones). Whether there have been interventions from the episcopate against Francis privately, with more and more scandals developing weekly, and especially the “interpretation” of Amoris Laetitia that was leaked, it’s a pretty sad state of affairs that virtually the only condemnations – or challenges – to the direction of this pontificate being made public are coming from laity and a few, mostly anonymous, priests. Yes there have been some scattered statements from individual bishops but they have been few and far between, and nothing the kind of categorical “reply” that the situation so desperately merits. Even if – and it’s not an if I think can be fairly granted – but even if, somehow, everyone of Francis’ scandalous actions, statements, and pronouncements could be reconciled with the Deposit of Faith, could somehow be shown to be within the bounds of prudence, there is still the issue of the mass confusion and pain he is causing. Should not that, at least, merit more public response from those given the great grace, and terrible duty, to shepherd the souls in their charge?
What do you think of this accusation? Is it the laity’s place to lay such charges? If the laity doesn’t do it, who will? Should we simply pray and do penance, imploring God to free us from this man?
I do believe people of good will and solid observance of the Faith can come down differently on these questions. I tend to support such interventions due to the desperation in which we are mired,as I think someone has to call a spade a spade, and if the bishops are failing in their duty, then it is up to the laity to stand forth and do their best. I can, however, comprehend how some could disagree

I have sat next to Hugh at most every Sunday Mass for the past 4 or 5 years. He was single and had no family I’, aware of. We always tried to save him a seat. I spoke with him just this past Sunday.
He passed away unexpectedly last night. He had been in fine health as far as I knew. He was probably well into his 70s but I’m not certain of his exact age. He was a faithful TLMer of many, many years.
If you would, in your charity, pray for the repose of his soul. He was a good guy, I liked him quite a bit.
The Requiem Mass will be at 10 am Monday at Mater Dei.

I know I’m way late on this, being away always at the wrong time, but an explosive development came out late last week, and you can tell how important it is by the backflips the usual papolotrists are doing trying to explain it away. Heck, Jeff Mirus reduced adultery to a venial sin to try to make this an inconsequential development!
So, the bishops of the Buenos Aires developed a document explaining to priests how to implement the infamous chapter 8 of Amoris Laetitia, doing so along plainly literal lines, taking the document at its word and just going from there, giving free reign to priests to give Communion to divorced people who have remarried without obtaining an annulment. They submitted this interpretation to Franky George Bergoglio for his approval and he granted it, with great vigor. In fact, he says the plainly heterodox “interpretation” of the document is the only one possible/permissible. Which, duh, but a lot of folks have egg on their faces now, and they’d rather turn the Catholic Faith into a meaningless mishmash of pretzel logic than be wrong (Mirus, for one, has done this for years, even well before Francis).

The bishops’ directive called “Basic Criteria for the Application of Chapter Eight of Amoris Laetitia” says that in “complex circumstances” when the remarried couple could not “obtain a declaration of nullity,” the priests can nevertheless move forward to grant them access to Holy Communion. If the priest recognizes that “in a particular case there are limitations that diminish responsibility and culpability (cf. 301-302), particularly when a person judges that he would fall into a subsequent fault by damaging the children of the new union,” says the directive, “Amoris Laetitia opens the possibility of access to the sacraments of Reconciliation and the Eucharist (cf. notes 336 and 351).”
The Pope’s letter affirms this path with effusive praise for the bishops’ work. Writing to the delegate of the Buenos Aires Pastoral Region, Monsignor Sergío Alfredo Fenoy, the Pope says, “I thank you for the work they have done on this: a true example of accompaniment for the priests.”
Pope Francis adds: “The document is very good and completely explains the meaning of chapter VIII of Amoris Laetitia. There are no other interpretations. And I am certain that it will do much good. May the Lord reward this effort of pastoral charity.”……..
………The leaked document is the first time there is explicit confirmation that Pope Francis interprets Amoris Laetitia as allowing communion for divorced and remarried Catholics without the condition that the couple in the irregular situation live as brother and sister without sexual relations, as was always required by the Church.
