Animals are people, but babies aren’t April 15, 2013

A new conference to be held soon at Yale proposes to examine extending the definition of “human” to various animals and even robots.  Half a billion dead babies and untold millions of murdered elderly could not be reached for comment:

A conference to be held at Yale University in December brings together animal rights activists and fans of human enhancement who are interested in the rights of robots and aliens. “Personhood Beyond the Human” is sponsored the Institute for Ethics and Emerging Technologies, a think tank for enhancement, the Nonhuman Rights Project, and Yale’s Interdisciplinary Center for Bioethics. The keynote speakers will be utilitarian ethicist Peter Singer and a leading animal rights legal theorist, Steven M. Wise.

The event will focus on personhood for nonhuman animals, including great apes, cetaceans [dolphins, porpoises, etc], and elephants, and will explore evolving notions of personhood by analyzing them through the frameworks of neuroscience, behavioral science, philosophy, ethics, and law.

Certainly, “ethics.”  Meanwhile, as I noted earlier today, we have had other “ethicists” and their friends in academia claim that abortion is not only wonderful within the womb, but should even be applied years after!  Hey, if a woman has a “right to choose” to kill her offspring, why place a time limit on it?  Why not allow parents some additional leverage in dealing with surly teens? It might bring a whole new dynamic to family life.  “If you stay out past 10, I’ll impose reproductive law #98643 on you!”

“Marriage” between homosexuals.  Having babies is evil because it destroys the planet. People totally given over to every manner of perversion and license and much more normal and moral than those with strong Christian beliefs. Love means letting people destroy themselves in every sort of misery.  Up is down. Black is white. Laverne is Shirley.

I heard a most awesome sermon yesterday on where all this is headed, and how it has come to pass, but it isn’t up yet.  I can’t wait to post it, because it deals with these issues so very well.  But based on any number of historical precedent, we are headed towards both a terrible persecuted and an unprecedented chastisement.

Domine, miserere nobis.
