The next push – “normalizing” pedophilia August 16, 2011

It’s been argued here and many other places, that the unprecedented, deeply thought out and coordinated campaing to “normalize” homosexuality would lead to similar efforts for other areas of sexual perversion and taboo.  Given the incredible success of the homosexual normalization effort, should we now be surprised that the groundwork is being laid to now “normalize” pedophilia?

If a small group of psychiatrists and other mental health professionals have their way at a conference this week, pedophiles themselves could play a role in removing pedophilia from the American Psychiatric Association’s bible of mental illnesses — the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), set to undergo a significant revision by 2013.  Critics warn that their success could lead to the decriminalization of pedophilia.

The August 17 Baltimore conference is sponsored by B4U-ACT, a group of pro-pedophile mental health professionals and sympathetic activists. [one  must wonder what kind of mentality would be “pro-pedophile.”]  According to the conference brochure, the event will examine “ways in which minor-attracted persons [pedophiles] can be involved in the DSM 5 revision process” and how the popular perceptions of pedophiles can be reframed to encourage tolerance………….

Child advocate Dr. Judith Reisman, a visiting professor at Liberty University’s School of Law, said the conference is part of a strategy to condition people into accepting pedophiles……………

[a promoter of pedophilia ‘normalization,’ a university professor whose own predelictions one must wonder about, states] Stop buying into and promoting false stereotypes. Stop demonizing a whole class of people, and start learning the facts”

Berlin has similarly compared society’s reaction to pedophilia to that of homosexuality prior to the landmark 2003 Lawrence v. Texas decision that decriminalized sodomy.

B4U-ACT’s own website puts Berlin’s views front and center. “Just as has been the case historically with homosexuality,” he writes, “society is currently addressing the matter of pedophilia with a balance that is far more heavily weighted on the side of criminal justice solutions than on the side of mental health solutions.”

Sorry, I, for one, will always have a deep animosity towards those who molest, rape, or otherwise attack children, sexually or otherwise.  I will continue to “demonize” them.  I will say that they are sick, and need both separation from society to prevent their harming children, and treatment if such can be effective.  What the proponents of pedophile normalization conveniently forget to mention is that, to an even greater degree that homosexuality, pedophilia is a virtually untreatable condition.  The recidivism rate among pedophiles, even those who have served long prison terms, is incredibly high.  As a Mayo Clinic study of pedophile behavior stated: “No treatment for pedophilia is effective unless the pedophile is willing to engage in the treatment. Individuals can offend again while in active psychotherapy, while receiving pharmacologic treatment, and even after castration.”  This is why incarceration and, even after incarceration, enforced separation from children, is necessary.  I think I’ve made clear on this blog I don’t like to see the state involved in every aspect of people’s lives, but in the case of convicted pedophiles, the exception proves the rule – these people are dangerous and governments should take great steps to protect society from these predatory individuals.

What is outlined in the Daily Caller article above is precisely the formula used to promote the homosexual agenda in our society starting 40 years ago, and such promotion was aided and abetted by far leftists in the media, academia, and other influential institutions, who seek every possible means to undermine and ultimately destroy traditional Judeo-Christian morality.  Pedophilia is, simply put, a grave sickness of the soul, a perversion so great it does (and absolutely should) cause normal people, those not corrupted horribly by grave sin, revulsion.  But, 40 odd years ago, the culture viewed homosexuality in somewhat the same light (although pedophilia has always been a taboo more egregious than homosexuality).  Thanks to a committed, well orchestrated campaign of propaganda and our own fallen natures (sins against purity becoming so endemic in society at large), about half the population now views homosexual acts  no longer as offensive to both God and man, but as perfectly normal and acceptable.  40 years ago, many warned that the American Psychiatric Association’s “normalizing” of homosexuality would one day lead to efforts to “normalize” pedophilia, bestiality, etc.  That day is now.

Lord, please have mercy on us.  We are so very, very lost as a culture.  This is all related to porn and sexual license in the culture, and collapse of a Christian morality.  People immersed in their own sexual sins are less likely to be critical of the sins of others, no matter how offensive.  50 years of the “sexual revolution” has now brought us here: an active movement to de-criminalize the most offensive, heinous of behaviors, the stealing of a child’s innocence.  But, given a culture where many have no qualms whatsoever about taking an innocent child’s life, I guess we should not be surprised.

I think prayer is in order.

I’m very, very much afraid that the most effective way of normalizing this foul crime is the seeming inaction of the Vatican in dealing with Bishops and clergy who allow “homo Masses” in their diocese. When the average person sees these outrages continue with no swift and severe condemnation from the Bishop or from Rome the average person starts to think that the Church herself is beginning to “accept” buggery. And since buggery will eventually lead to the buggering of adolescent boys by sex perverts the average person begins to wonder if such things merely have to now be tolerated “since the Church doesn’t seem to mind”.

It doesn’t matter what actions are taken by the Church authorities in trying to stop and to punish the sodomites in their midst who are caught in their crimes; if they do not stop these public sacrileges of “gay masses” then these authorities are part of the problem, not the solution. In England today the execrable Bishop Vincent Nichols is doing nothing to stop these kinds of public outrages. In New York Archbishop Dolan smiles when being welcomed by homosexuals in a Church service of some sort.

If this doesn’t stop, and soon, then don’t be surprised if the raping of adolescent boys by homo predators will start to be considered normal.

While I share your concern over Mass celebrations that seek to promote the homosexual agenda, I don’t know if these Masses, disastrous as they are for the Church, play a big role in shaping public opinion on the matter. I think it is more due to a laxity of the practice of moral virtues and a general tendency towards sexual vice that makes people feel that 1) they don’t want to be criticized for their sexual vices, so they become more amenable to tolerating (or even embracing) homosexuality, and 2) the constant media and other propaganda campaigns that, in absence of a firm moral grounding, have convinced people that the homosexual lifestyle is “OK.”

I have read reports of some male sex addicts, that state that they developed an openness to homosexuality from thier repeated exposure to porn and other sexual perversity. Many normally straight men caught in the spiral of sex/porn addiction have allowed themselves to fall into homosexual acts (typically, being serviced by gay males) due to their general moral corruption and the need for higher and higher “thrills” associated with constant porn use. This could be shaping public opinion at large, to a some degree. Plus, there is the sterility of so many marriages and other heterosexual couples, which causes them to believe that the sex act is just one for personal pleasure, and that it has no higher, moral purpose ordered towards pleasing God.

In charity, perhaps we should avoid the term “homo.” I’m sure it’s just short hand, but some might take it the wrong way.

2. Remember disgraced Archbishop Weakland – his advisor to speak at pedophilia conference « A Blog for Dallas Area Catholics - August 17, 2011

[…] I blogged yesterday on a horrific development, a conference being held to begin the push to “normalize” pedophilia, starting with pressure on the American Psyciatric Association to “de-list” pedophilia as a mental disorder.  And while I don’t like having much to do with SNAP, since they seem most interested in suing and using the notoriety so gained to push for their often heterodox agenda, they make a valuable contribution today when they note that one of the speakers at this upcoming pedophile normalization conference was an advisor to disgraced Archbishop Rembert Weakland and many other bishops, apparently, on the issue of homosexual priest abuse of young boys.  Not only that, he counseled Weakland and other bishops to keep pedophile priests in service and to cover up their crimes: Dr. Fred Berlin, [Berlin was quoted extensively in the report on the pro-pedophile conference I linked to yesterday] a chief consultant for decades to the American Catholic Bishops and Religious Order Provincials on sex offender priests, will address tomorrow in Baltimore a controversial symposium sponsored by an organization that calls itself “B4U-ACT”. B4U-ACT advocates the decriminalization and tolerance of persons who have a lifelong attraction and desire for sexual contact with youngsters. B4U-ACT, when describing its core values states: “Individuals who are attracted to children are the focus of everything that we do.” […]

The question is… what are we going to do about it? A million mom(and dad) march? Letters, emails, phone calls? We cannot just sit back and wait to see what happens. We have to show that no matter our religion, race, gender we stand united on this issue. We will never be able to keep them from coming back to this later, but we can show them now that we will not stand for it. We must gather everyone we know, every child protection group and have our voice heard.
